So we grew up with Monopoly, Life, Clue, etc. I wanted to get into "real" board games and this is the first one I tried. It's more complex but there are plenty of online streaming videos that can help shortcut the learning curve. This is a great game that even my young kids could play 9-10 years old when they first tried. There are lots of expansion packs for more players and scenarios. Highly recommend to start.

Kids and adults love it. I have kids from 13 to 7. Encourages critical thinking, strategy building and cooperation. They would play every day if we could.

If you don't know this game you should. If you haven't played it yet then try it! There are places where you can play these games in most cities so that you could probably try it before you buy it. If not, buy one anyway and if you don't really like it you could surely find someone to give it to who would! It takes a little effort to learn, but not too much - even my eight year old daughter loves it! It doesn't usually take as long as monopoly can and it's certainly faster than games like Alies and Axis. It does seem a little expensive for being mostly cardboard, but, it is worth it for the amount of fun you get, especially considering how important it is to have your kids spend time away from cell phones and video games!

Great expansion so 6 people can play at a time! Great game to play with my family! Even my 6 year old loves to play it!!

The expansion pack really adds a good day mention to the game and changes the strategy. Very enjoyable.

Catan is awesome, and adding the 5-6 player expansion gives you so many more options to play this game such as a bigger board, more variety in where assets can be acquired etc. Get this and have even more fun playing Catan!

I'm very excited that Best Buy is now carrying great board games. If you have not tried this buy it. Even if you don't have more players for this expansion, you do get more land types to expand you're building area which is great. Can't wait for more expansions to be available.

The extension gives you more room and cuts down on congestion, which can be frustrating when you have four players.

If you already have and love the base game this is a great addition. In the past my friends and I would double up teams if we have too many, but with the expansion we don't need to. I thought it might be hard to add people with spacing and resource issues, but they do it well. There are a few rule tweaks, like building after someone else's turn, that help move play along.

My children love the extension pack when friends are over. You can use it even if there are only 4 players, too.

It is great for extending our already purchased Catan game and allowing us to play with more people. It came in a well-packaged box and had no damage from shipping.

This game is so much fun. My 20 year old wanted it for Christmas. We played it during his whole break from college.

Great expansion to the original four player game. A little tricky to get used to the new format but same concept overall.

they actually sell catan in bestbuy? that's awesome. this expansion is needed if you want to add 2 extra players to the base game.

This is a great expansion pack allows for 5-6 player games, where the original game is only for 4. Be sure you have the main campaign before you buy this though.

Surprised to find this on Best Buy, but snapped it up right away. Good family game. Gets pricey when you try the other variations. Recommended.
