Coby was never the best name in Android Tablets. They always have their Android Tablets with no Google Play Store and they have a secondary app store like Getjar which is all free apps, but half of them do not work correctly with some tablets. Their build quality was good for a cheaper tablet, but not tops but for under $150 what do you expect. At CES 2013, they introduced their first line of tablets with the Google Play Store which means they are Google certified. The best news as now you can download the apps that you want and there is no side loading which was a pain for some people. The dual core processor clocked at 1.2gHz is quick enough and you do get the Mali 400 GPU which is the same graphics chip in the Galaxy S II back in 2011. Not ground breaking, but for a cheap tablet, certainly impressive. 1GB of ram which is good. The screen resolution is 1024 by 600 so not true HD, but better then 800 by 480. The screen is not IPS, but a rather decent LCD. Viewing angles are not there. You turn the screen 1 inch to either side, up or down, and you will loose colors. Brightness is not automatic, as their is no ambient light sensor. There is NO GPS. Sadly since this is Google certified, no GPS and no A GPS. You do get a Micro SD card slot so you can upgrade the storage which is a plus since most tablets are eliminating them. Software is ICS 4.0.4 but according to some websites, Coby will release Jellybean for this eventually and there is no reason they shouldn't. For below $150, this tablet will do you good. If you want to spend aout $50-60 more you can get the Nexus 7 which has better specs in evert area. If you are on a budget this is something you should take a look at. I myself am sending this back, but thanks to Best Buy's great return policy it is a no brainer to buy it from them.
