    NO INSTALLATION DONE - PLS DONT LIE TO CUSTOMERS

    This installation service has not been performed. The installation company has NOT completed any installation of the cooktop as they showed up without the parts and just left without doing anything about it. They lied to me that they will be telling bestbuy about the need to reschedule and complete the installation. Instead they marked this order as complete. I have been following up since November 15th to get the cooktop installed and have made nearly 50 calls to geek squad appliance team for help, called in the store and also tried reaching out to the installation company. No one has been giving any solution to this situation. If I dont get this resolved, I will be returning the cooktop to Bestbuy and ask for a full refund. I am attaching an image of the cooktop lying at my house uninstalled as on today.

    Bought this gas cooktop to replace an existing electric cooktop; we needed the downdraft since the cooktop is on an island (no overhead hood possible). If you don't need a downdraft, the costs are a lot less; to that extent, the extra cost for downdraft appears a little higher, but that's a "manufacturer" pricing decision, not BB. Product works well (similar to / better than expectation). The home installation service offered by Best Buy was excellent; the technicians were knowledgeable, provided us with advice on what we needed the electrical and gas providers to do to hook up service; and came back to close out on the installation. All in all - extremely glad we used Best Buy for the purchase + installation. We saw the same model offered in multiple other retail outlets; but all of them did not have "in-house" installation offers; would have required us to run around to get contractors and installation done. Installation charges from BB were the same as for 3rd party; so the ease of getting everything done professionally was a big plus.

    We had a mixed experience, so I want to be clear: - Top score is for installation with First Choice service company - Lowest score for the botched installation with the first service company that Best Buy sent, called Continuum Home Solutions. Despite being the same brand, Jenn Air, the downdraft exhaust diameter was 1" larger for the new gas cooktop and the team did not have a solution. - Lowest score for Best Buy service to reschedule the delivery after the botched installation first time. I had to call many times until I was able to have the order redone. There was uncertainty until the data of the delivery and installation. Actually, the delivery team wanted to do both delivery and haul away (before installation and removal of the old cooktop?)

    The cooktop is great! It was supposed to be installed when delivered. The team removed the old cooktop and placed the new one in the counter and told me I would need a plumber to connect the vent. They said they could take care of the wiring. I don’t believe they were ‘licensed professionals’. I called customer service and they said someone would be coming in one week to complete the job. One week later the job was completed. The installers brought the items they needed and completed the job.

    Good replacement for the old Whirlpool stove top

    Someone needs to come back out and fix the extractor fan speed control. It only works on "high" and cannot be adjusted to a lower speed. Also, whenever somebody opens the cabinet door below the stove top, the flame goes out. Closing the door, the flame comes back on. VERY STRANGE!

    I hope someone will take time to read this and pass onto the highest level at Best buy for my own experince. I had a Worst experience with Best buy with my first major order. I paid and bought a cooktop in February 2022 (About $2400) speaking to a representtive on phone. I was promised several dates for the delivery and installation. But the delivery and install dates came and gone..... I was desparate for a cooktop as my current one was leaking. I spoke to more than 13+ representatives from best buy trying to follow up. False promises were made and nothing happened. Someone said that the backend system of bestbuy is messed up and the reps are not able to schedule the delivery with the technician, although they see the order in the system. One of the representive also said in April, 2022, "You are welcome to get a refund and buy from other places". That was extremely discouraging and frustrating after waiting for 3 months to replace my cooktop. Then one representive asked me to go to the store and speak to the manager there. Then I went to the nearby store in Milford and expressed my wait and frustration. They cancelled my order and recreated another one and scheduled the tech to come and install. Well, the techs from "Best Yet" came and installed but it was a defective item. Best Yet install people were very professional but they had to install the defective cooktop. Although the cooktop was working, the knobs were crucade. They made a note in their paperwork and said someone would call from Bestbuy and will plan for a replacement. Since then I have not heard back. I contacted the store manager in email and he has not responded. You can imagine the amoutn of stress I went through all these 3+ months and ended up in a defective piece..... Does anyone care?

    The installers were on time and did a pretty good job. The opening from my previous cooktop was slightly bigger. The installers did not seal around such that the cooktop does not move accidentally. However, it was easy to fix using a clear silicone caulk.

    burner tops are VERY Hard to clean & get off.

    Good cooktopm. However, the reason for the 3 star review is that the burner tops are not teflon proof. Any spills on the burner tops are VERY Hard to clean & get off.

    The technicians installed the cooktop in most unprofessional way. His intention was to just install the cooktop and not do it with pride. He messed up the area which is expected when you do the installation, but did not bother to clean up the parts during or after the job. Even when reminded multiple times he said this is not my job. This was totally not the Geek Squad service I have received in past. I have had Geek squad install multiple equipment in my house and all were to my total satisfaction. This one definitely stands out.

    I had to wait five weeks before the product was finally installed, but the two gentlemen who installed it were expert and professional. They had to make unexpected adjustments to the countertop for it to fit, but the work was done carefully and successfully. Job well done!

    BB uses XPO logistics for deliver and installation of appliances. It appears there is little system or human coordination between the companies. My experience: 1st no show: XPO went to BB warehouse to pick up the cooktop I purchased, found out there was no unit because it was not even built by manufacturer. After the unit became available and was delivered, I had to reschedule for installation due to adjustment needed for counter size. 2nd no show: the rescheduled appointment never made to XPO logistics. I called multiple times with both companies to reschedule for 3rd time. I was promised copious notes were added to ensure error would not reoccur. 3rd no show: I called both companies early the day of installation, both confirmed installation for that day. Then 5 pm no one showed up. Called again XPO said there was no installation order, BB couldn’t find out why error occurred again. What is frustrating is that i get multiple emails from BB to remind getting ready for installation for every appointment, Wasted several days of waiting and rearranging work.

    The cooktop that fit with a downdraft that works!

    I needed to replace a 2001 electric cooktop with a downdraft. My selection was limited by size (I didn't want to pay extra to adjust the existing space) and the fact that downdrafts don't appear to be a popular feature anymore. This cooktop was actually installed twice! The first time, the downdraft fan did not work and the assumption was manufacturer defect. I waited about five weeks for the delivery of the second cooktop (same model). After installation, that downdraft also did not work. The installation tech called his supervisor and explained that he did everything he could think to do and it just does not work; the downdraft on these models must be defective. The installer left after his supervisor explained to me that he would follow-up with the store for a resolution. About an hour later, my door bell rang and it was the installer. He asked if he could come in and try one more thing. It was about seven in the evening and I told him (teasingly) that he should be home having dinner with his family; I was having dinner with mine. The fact that this happened twice obviously bothered him and he was determined to conquer this mystery. And he did! The downdraft came on!! This installer went the extra mile to provide the service he gets paid for and obviously take pride in delivering on!!

    Down draft duct was not connected to the existing duct pipe. Had to hire a handyman to complete the job.

    Our cooktop with a downdraft was installed on time by a highly qualified and helpful installer. We are always impressed with the caliber of the technicians used by Best Buy. The Total Tech program is a worthwhile investment.
