Reimaged a 11 year old computer with an older version of WordPerfect for a friend's mom. After fully updating Windows 7, the old version of WP would not install after trying for almost an entire day. Bought X9, and it installed and work flawlessly. She's a happy lady.

I've been using WordPerfect (WP) since 1982. I can open those files with the latest version of WP, and all versions of WP for Windows can open older version files (try that with Word!). I love how you can see all the formatting codes and edit or delete them if you want to. I even use my old PC/AT keyboards with function keys on the left with the latest versions of WP - let's me do a lot of formatting, editing, and moving around in a file without needing to reach for the mouse.
OK - I'm a bit retro, but I love WP X9. (And, I can read/write Word files for my friends if I have to.)

This may lack the polish from the Washington based company, it may not have the wide support than the free GNU office suites. It is my favorite word processor. It needs an updated equation editor, however. The bundled equation editor is from the 90's....

For retirees and for people
with low income it is the best way to have an office package. It works fine for spreadsheets and word processing.

The price was cheaper than on the Corel website! It's perfectly compatible with Word and the functionality is excellent.

I have been a loyal WordPerfect user for more than 30 years. I find it to be more user friendly than Word. However, I skip some upgrades to newer versions to avoid the cost. When this version was offered as a Deal of the Day at a price considerably lower than I had been seeing, I jumped on it. I have not been disappointed in any way. It was easy to install and performs well.

Used to use WordPerfect professionally many years ago when there was greater competition among word processing programs and always had good results with it. Over time though, Word dominated the market and now many people don't know there are still some other good programs out there. I recently bought a new computer which was pre-loaded with a free trial version of Microsoft Office. No problem there except after the trial the choice is to pay an annual fee for use or outright buy the program, which I was planning to do. However, when I went to Best Buy to get the program I saw the WordPerfect office suite on the shelf next to it, and for a lot less money! By instinct, my miserly self took over and I bought WordPerfect thinking I could always download Word if it didn't work out. Now, about a month later, still glad I went cheap! WordPerfect does everything Word does and converts Word docs quite well. Of course there is a slight learning curve and there may be some minor formatting issues in conversion, but they are easily corrected and a small price to pay for a significant difference in cost. The WordPerfect suite includes Quattro Pro (Excel) and Presentations (PowerPoint), and also comes with a photo editing program. Overall, WordPerfect is still a top notch program that you won't regret buying.

I purchased this product to replace Word Perfect 9 Family Pack, which worked well, but with some minor limitations under Windows 7, but became totally incompatible and unusable under Windows 10. Office X9 works more smoothly with Windows 10 than Family Pack ever worked with Windows 7.

I took off a star as the word processing program does not have a feature WP tech support told me it had when I called them and asked. This is not a reflection on Best Buy, which had a good price on it. It is a nice suite of programs I look forward to using. At least the WP has features MS Word does not.

So far, it appears to work just like WordPerfect 4 and WordPerfect 5. As with older versions, it loaded easily. As a WordPerfect user since the days of DOS, I prefer WordPerfect over other word processing programs. Converting to Word docs is very easy and I often write/edit in WordPerfect and convert files seamlessly when necessary. I rate the version with an A+.

I have been using WordPerfect even before windows. This upgrade is from X5 to X9. WordPerfect has always been the best for word processing. Especially thankful I had it during my graduate education.

The program is easy to learn and covers all the needed applications. I have used this program from the beginning of the 1990´s and have kept up to date on the different editions.

Haven't purchased many writing programs but I always find myself coming back to the WordPerfect program. It's easy to use, has a decent layout, and has no issue running on our computer or working with our printers.

I'm used to using Microsoft Office for word processing and all my other work, but I got this because it was cheaper than Office (and it was on sale at the time) and I'm happy with it so far. It is easier to get used to than I thought it would be. So far, I haven't used it much, so if anything comes up, I'll definitely update this review if I can.

I've used Word Perfect since the 1990's in its various editions and find that this edition continues its great tradition and adds to it. I find it very helpful to be easily able to see and edit the coding for text, boxes, pages, etc. Also, the continuing ability to convert Word Perfect documents into MsWord and PDF documents is very useful to me. And, I'm still learning about the enhancements to this new edition of this software.

I rated this purchase 3/5 stars because it is advertised as compatible with MS Office. While it is less expensive than the MS Office suite, compatibility is wonky at best. I am not pleased as my MS created documents did not display correctly in WordPerfect at all.
