For my computer setup most of my RGB lighting is run through Corsair's iCUE software, so having these lighting strips work with my fans and ram right out of the box is fantastic! This kit comes with 2- 250mm strips and 2- 450mm strips, all of which can be arranged in any orientation as you see fit, inside your case or out. Personally I chose to mount the strips on the back of my monitor to provide some ambient backlighting. The lighting strips are bold and colorful, and can be addressed to perform many different lighting setups. So whether you want a static color, a stobe of colors, a rainbow wave etc, it'll do the job and do it well. I would definitely recommend these strips if you don't like the look of single diode led strips and if you're already using the iCUE software.

I have been using these for a few days on the back of a 24 inch gaming monitor. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of these lights. I love how it can match colors with the games that I play. There are quite a few customizable options to tweak and adjust to your liking. For being a ‘starter kit’, you get a good amount of length from the 4 strips included. If you want to expand, it seems easy enough to plug in additional strips to spread out the lighting. Overall, I am happy to add these to my gaming setup as it adds an extra level of immersion and ambiance.

This LS100 smart lighting kit makes it easier than ever to add flare to your gaming setup. This is the first product I've used that has allowed me to synchronize lighting OUTSIDE my computer case and in my gaming space with the lighting scenes I already have for inside my case, and it's really upped my lighting game! Orchestration and customization of lighting is handled by Corsair's iCUE software. This will be familiar to anyone that's already using Corsair products, but overall, it's pretty simple to use and recognized the USB controller lighting strips almost immediately. From there, it was business as usual, setting up lighting profiles that matched some internal Corsair fans I have in my gaming PC to create an overall scene that is much more enveloping than anything I've had before. This starter kit comes with the USB controller, some extension cables, 2 longer lighting bars and 2 shorter lighting bars. These lighting bars have magnetic brackets attached to them, allowing you to attach to metal surfaces with ease. In my situation, I tried these out inside my case, attaching them effortlessly to my Lian Li O11 Dynamic using the magnets, and connected them to my mobo via a Corsair Commander Pro. This worked equally as well as the external controller for me and was incredibly easy to configure and mount. The main downside I see with this kit is that the external USB controller has only two inputs, so you'll need to chain multiple lights together, especially if you intend to build out your collection beyond what's included (for instance, adding Corsair's light towers). This would be more flexible if they included more LED headers, but 2 is better than 1. Overall, this is a great kit to get started with LED lighting. You'll need the necessary hardware to connect these internally (either a Corsair controller or a mobo with Corsair specific headers), but this couldn't be easier.

I would probably rate this 4 and a half stars. Not really for everyone but good for gamers. My first inclination would be to install this in my case to jazz it up a bit but mainly for larger cases. That's not really why I got it though as my case is already well lit and I like the way it looks already. It appears that it was meant to lite your desktop by attaching to your monitor giving a good variety of effects using the Icue software which most will enjoy and is what I use it for. Gives an added bonus for gaming and music listening with the many options in the software. If you have a larger monitor (I have a 32") it may be a bit small. But you can add more lite strips if you want. Seems ideal for a 27" which I also have. Many newer motherboards have built in support or the Icue commander will also work. If you don't have these it comes with a hub which works fine and gives you full control.

I've used a few different RGB lighting systems before but I love the iCue LS100 the most by far. I love that the light strips have a white defusing cover on them so that if the light strips are visible they aren't blinding or jarring. This brings a whole other level of immersion to your setup.

I purchased these from Corsair. Let me reiterate what others have said... dont waste your money. Seriously. These are terribly made. The LED hub is flimsy, and it losese power/connection to the power source. Mine arrived DOA from Corsair.... You can buy cheaper lights from Bestbuy that doo a better job than these $120 lights. I opened that box, and made this determination within minutes... Dont make my mistake!
