Got it for use as an external SSD for running portible REAPER, loading Sample libraries and projects when I'm on the go. (music software) Pros: fast, formatted to NTFS out of the box, easy registration. Cons: have to assign a letter to the drive so you can see it under This PC". You can use window's disk manager or a third party software like MiniPartition Wizard. Not sure how long it will last. I've had it for 4 months and it sees light use.

Very easy to install, great price and made the laptop run considerably smoother and faster.

I was upgrading a fairly old computer system of one of my clients, and the purchase of this drive made that process so much easier. I was able to easily pre-install Windows, so when I installed it into her system, it was like starting up a new system for the first time. And it was so much faster than her old SATA hdd.

This is an excellent SSD. I installed it in my laptop to replace a faulty drive and it was relatively easy, only require a small amount of troubleshooting. The price was good and I am happy with my purchase.

This is the 5th Crucial SSD hard drive I have purchased over the last 4 years. I have never had any problems out of any of them. They work great and are way cheaper now then what they use to be. They make a great hard drive for upgrading laptops and deskthst are still using mechanical HD's.

Easy installation. Comes with a spacer which came in handy as original HD was 9mm. The supporting documentation/information, cloning software and management utility on their website made this install easy. Make sure to have a SATA to USB cable adapter for cloning your old HD. The SSD made the laptop response time faster as well as giving a safer feeling during any mobile travel with the laptop. All in all a good experience. Will purchase another one for another laptop.

I'm using two of these for additional game storage, mainly older games that I don't want on my nvme ssds and offline games. Really worth it for the price, would definitely prefer these over Samsung considering my use case. They can also take a beating, I was hooking them up wrong (first time using SATA cables) and I'm surprised I didn't break the connectors in the drives

I used this to replace a spinning 5400rpm HGST 500GB drive that was in my friends PS4. It was a simple swap, 5 screws and PS4 instantly recornized it and allowed resinstalling the OS. Petformance is great for playing games now, loading screens are so much shorter! 1TB was a great deal at $51!!

I bought it for my laptop to replace the old spinning drive, which has held up for a long time. I purchased a Dell in 2018, and this drive has made Windows run noticeably faster. I love Crucial products, and they and Kingston keep my computers going. I have purchased several drives, which still work after two years. My Dell now has two of them and an M.2 drive. I Run Windows 11 on the Mx500 1T and Fedora Linux on the M.2. Windows updates faster and operates smoother. This and RAM upgrades will do wonders for an older computer. I host the Zoom meetings at work, and that means an external screen, a table microphone, and an external camera. It all runs well. Best Buy hasreasonabled prices and sometimes beats Amazon. The service is good, and if I want, I can pay to have them install it if I have other things to do. Worth every penny!

This isn't fancy, but it comes within 2 seconds for loading times of my NVME drive. For the price, the amount of storage is very good. I used this in a gaming laptop which only came with a 512GB NVME drive. Three games filled that drive up. Thankfully, this went on sale for $89 shortly after Christmas and it was the perfect solution. Do your research and ensure your machine has a slot for a SATA 2.5" drive, you should be good to go.

This has been solid for my Raspberry Pi NAS setup. It's fast an enough The installation was easy with a SATA USB adapter, and I plan to use it for a couple of years.

My original system had only a 350mb SSD, so I decided to upgrade it to a 1TB. Having never cloned an operating system disk before, I was a little hesitant. The Crucial website showed me exactly how to do it, going step-by-step. The big test was turning my system back on, which came on without a hitch. Success! The bad news is my wife is now asking me to replace the old Hard Drive in her PC with and SSD. :)

Best Buy's Geek Squad installed this when my original drive failed. It is a much better quality drive than the one that came with my laptop. It works well and I am very happy with it.

We have a PC family computer that is used for basics, but very important for our family use. However, the drive was going bad. This allows us to keep using our old computer without having to replace it. The old computer still won't have certain performance levels of a new computer, but this hard drive makes it close... plus it is larger than what you typically get with a new PC. Very happy, especially with the sale price of $85.

Can’t beat the price to performance on this SSD, I highly recommend it for gamers or casual PC use. Similar 2.5” SSDs are way overpriced once you get into the 1Tb range. This Crucial SSD is as good and as fast as most 2.5” ssd’s simply because of the fact that most 2.5” ssds top out at 6Gb per second. Will definitely be getting another one to upgrade my laptop since I used this one on my gaming rig.

Put this drive into a late 2013 (14.2) iMAC 27" to replace a very slow HDD. The performance increase is amazing. I have to admit that replacing an iMAC's HDD is a fairly complex operation when compared to most PCs and some other Apple products. Also, had to do some formatting work while connected to a PC initially to get this drive to be recognized by Apple machines. Once that was done, things moved along just fine.

The best ssds out there on a budget that have extended the life of hundreds of my clients computers and have been magnificent long-lasting with no issues and even survived water damage power outage and physical trauma by some of my clients highly recommend these solid state drives they are just as dependable and in my benchmark test have been just as stable for speeds as Samsung ssds if not more so in some situations! As with anything as of right now I'm holding on over 200 computer repairs using these solid state drives to upgrade my client's computers and extend their life and/or expand their storage and have yet to have a single one come back on me but I do tell them based on what I've seen here to keep the box and packaging in case we ever have to file warranty under the 5-year warranty

HDD on my PS4pro took a crap so I was looking for an alternative. Read good things about the MX500 so I bought it. Installation was a breeze. No hiccups and there's definitely a performance increase with the SSD over the old spin HDD. Highly recommend upgrading to this if you have a PS4pro even if you HDD is still good. Kudos for fast shipping from BB.

I copied existing 500GB SSD to this one because I\my C: drive was filling up. It worked great. I've bought RAM from Crucial in the past and the products are good. Their on line memory selection assistance was very helpful when I first started upgrading my PCs. If you like the price, you'll be happy with this drive.
