Crucial MX500 - Failed after just 2-weeks

I bought two of these MX500 SSD drives in May for a new computer build that I was finally able to find all the parts and start building at the end of June. Fortunately, they were just extra library drives for an audio recording computer, with M.2 drives as the system drive and primary library drive.
One of the MX500 drives is still working -- however, the other failed in just two weeks. No warning at all -- it just stopped showing up in the drive list. All power and MB connections were fine -- also tried it in an external dock on another computer, just to make sure. Sure enough, it was dead. Of course, it's outside the return window for Best Buy, but will try to get a RMA with Crucial and see if I can get a replacement.
In the meantime, I may order another SSD from another brand - and just in case the other MX500 is from the same batch and happens to fail. Thankfully, I had HDD copies (via external dock) of most of my sound libraries on SSD -- made it a bit less of a disaster.

The Crucial MX500 SSD is a great product in a small package and can serve many needs. For my purpose, I wasn’t seeking a replacement for my main hard drive. The reason is my current solution has my OS on a NVMe/PCIe SSD. It’s faster than the SATA makeup of this one. With that being said, it doesn’t disappoint though.
My secondary drive was a standard SATA HDD and this Crucial MX500 SSD is a great upgrade. It allowed me to stock more games and programs on a faster solution. I didn’t record the time it took things to open, but it clearly opens things a lot quicker than before. To get to this point, the process was pretty easy once I had everything I needed. Crucial supplies an Acronis cloning tool that is pretty straightforward to use. Before you use it though, you need to find a way to connect the SSD to the computer to transfer the data. The directions call for an USB-to-SATA cable and that is an additional purchase that needs to be made. The software is free though.
Once you finish the easy steps to set it up, you are good to go. You just need to find a free slot in your computer and connect it for use. Personally, it had been a long time since I set up a hard drive and this was the easy thing I needed to get to where I wanted to be. I look forward to extending the life and performance of my system for quite some time. If anyone is using a SATA HDD, then I think they would truly benefit upgrading to the Crucial MX500 SSD. It’s very affordable and easy to set up.

Looks like the hard drive might be okay, but the installation service may not have been okay. I sometimes have the same hard drive issue I had before taking my laptop to the Geek Squad at Best Buy.
