I used to have one of these dehydrators many years ago and after considerable research, ended up purchasing another Cuisinart. I am glad I did! I use it frequently and have no troubles. I even bought one for my daughter. I recommend washing the trays right away and gently so as not to break the thin plastic. They eventually age and become more fragile.

I've used this twice so far, once for beef jerky and once for apple slices. The beef jerky was excellent. Apple "chips" remained a bit moist after 10.5 hours on medium heat but were very tasty. I like the adjustable heat settings, something my original dehydrator did not have. Overall, despite is all plastic construction and light weight, the dehydrator seems well constructed.

The function of this dehydrator is great, and simple. There is a knob and 4 settings. The manual tells you the temps for lo/med/hi and away you go. The downside is the trays are a little on the shallow side, so it's not easy to fit bulkier vegetables that don't lay flat, but overall very good and I am getting good use out of it!

Easy to order and quick delivery. I use this dehydrator yesterday to make beef jerky. I made a teriyaki and a chipotle jerk and both turned out great! Cleaning the trays was a breeze! This was a great value and a great product. Can't wait to try fruit roll ups next!!

Beef jerky maker. Had an older and different model with plastic trays but didn't last too long. I am concerned with the trays being hard plastic. My son snapped a piece off out of the box. Didn't effect the performance but not sure how long they will last.

I had another dehydrator that I bought several years ago. It seemed to take forever so I figured it was just old. I bought the Cuisinart but it was no quicker than the old one that I had. Still its nice to have a new dehydrator !
