    Mystery visual novel

Genre: Horror, Mystery, Drama Length: 25-50 hours Danganronpa is a title out of Japan that places you in the role of Makoto Naegi who has been deemed the "Ultimate Lucky Student" because he won a national lottery to attend Hopes Peak Academy; a super prestigious high school that only the most elite or ultimate students can attend. You're one of 15 students that have been accepted into this year's class. However, upon entering the school, you fall unconscious and wake up alone in a classroom. Returning to the school's lobby, you meet up with the other students and find yourselves barricaded inside by a massive steel door, huge metal plates on the windows, and all of the exits barred or locked. Your life at Hopes Peak is now one of despair! To make matters worse, the only way to escape will result in the deaths of all your classmates. Nothing like a good murder mystery game to get you enthralled for hours on end. The game has multiple aspects that just keep you playing over and over; waiting to see what comes next. The murders become more and more intricate and deceptive as the student body quickly dwindles. What might seem like an open and shut case turns into a trail of lies and deception. I won't give any spoilers, but I ended up looking at some guides for the chapter 5 trial when a certain option is asked. As the first reviewer mentioned, there are multiple other formats/games to this series. Funimation has licensed the anime series, but it's still for streaming only at the moment. We've also got the 2nd game coming out later this year on the Vita. I doubt we'll ever get the light novels or manga licensed over here, but there are plenty of scanlation sites to read those from. Danganronpa... the title is hard enough to say with a straight face. I can guarantee that you won't play though the game with a straight face, too! Aside from the adult oriented visual novels brought over by JAST USA and fan translations, it's extremely rare to get a VNs in North America. As a forewarning, don't buy this one if you don't like to read. VNs are steeped in loads of reading/listening and are not fast-paced. This is my first game for the Vita and I couldn't be happier!

    Playstation's answer to Ace Attorney

This game is has many similarities to Nintendo's Ace Attorney series in which you play someone who has to go to several trials and use logic to determine best time to do objections however there is enough of a spin on this that it keeps it fresh and new. Now I avoided saying much of the story because I don't want to spoil it but lets just say it is a very dark story and one that keeps you engaged the entire time. I ended up liking it enough to Platinum it and that took me about 35-40 hours. All in all very much worth any Vita owners time and another one is in the works and will release September of 2014.
