If you love metroidvania games, give this one a try. Excellent graphics, excellent gameplay, interesting story, VERY challenging! Well worth your time.

Blends, metroidvania, Souls Like, Rougelike, into a great mix of a game. This game was very well done and has a lot of polish to its mechanics. This is like a great mashup of classic gaming and new gaming ideas to make a great action rougelike.

It's a great game. Simple side-scroller. They don't do a very good job of explaining everything with the game, but with a few videos online, you can figure everything out. There isn't really a game over, but if you die, you start from the beginning again. If you make it to certain checkpoints you can make yourself slightly stronger for the next attempt and unlock new weapons/abilities. Doesn't take much time to figure things out and get the hang of it, but it does take a really long time to get good and that journey is incredibly satisfying.

This was my favorite title I played in 2018, along with Hollow Knight. If you've played Rogue Legacy, you'll have an idea of what to expect. Less of the Castlevania look, more of the Castlevania controls. The controls are accurate and a pleasure to play. You don't get mad at the game, you get mad at yourself because the game doesn't screw you, you screw yourself. Did I say that the controls are fantastic? They're a dream, just like Symphony of the Night. HIGHLY recommended to anyone who loves a good challenge. One of the most addictive experiences I've played in a long time.

I must say this is one of the most addicting and engaging games I've played from an indie publisher. Dead Cells is challenging and hardcore game and you'll experience death often. Through trial and error, you'll learn the enemy patterns and game mechanics and eventually take down the Hand of the King. Inspired by games like Castlevania, Metroid, and Rogue Legacy, Dead Cells blends elements form each of these games in a masterful way to create a difficult, yet rewarding experience.

Great indie game with lots of arcade style action for hack n slash fans. I'm having fun with this one.

I don't often like to compare games with one another but this game combines a lot of traits from games like Super Metroid, Souls like leveling system, and a bit of Castlevania which is fantastic. I haven't been too big on indie games but this one is a must buy!

This is a great game but have to like a these kinds of games to enjoy. It can be a grind but lots of benefit for grinding, so it doesn't feel like as much of a grind. This is the game to try if you want to get into these styles of games.

I’m loving dead cells, the game feels great and is a fantastic platforming run based roguelike. There’s multiple paths and more open up as you unlock new movement based abilities and attacks, A fantastic mix of Metroidvania and Roguelike.

If you're looking for a blisteringly difficult Metroidvania, look no further. I haven't been this addicted to a game that makes me want to throw my controller since the 90's.

I was really looking forward to playing Dead Cells. I found the art work in the game to really well done and love the old school 2D game play. However, if you die in the game you automatically start from the beginning. If you start the game again, the levels are randomly generated making it impossible to memorize each level. Being 43 years old, I don't have the time to play a frustrating game. Or a game that I feel wastes my time. Beautiful colorful graphics but in the end a game that I regret buying.

This game will test your skill as the gold is to complete it on one try. It’s a unique concept where no play through is ever identical

Addictive, difficult but fair game play. The random zones and weapons cause for interesting builds. I love it game of the year potential.

Love the game, just started it but it loos amazing. It plays a lot like castlevania/Metroid games with puzzle and adventure.
