Wondered out of a PS2 console ....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is so sad the graphics are straight out of the PS2. The game is nearly impossible to play due to the timing mechanism used as a "plot hook". SPOILERS BELOW THIS LINE: ________________________________________________________ Because you have to obtain Zombrex for your Daughter to be given between 7AM & 8AM each morning, you don't have a lot of time to explore, create weapons or do much of anything but follow a straight line that the developers lay out for you & SHAME on you if you miss one. The ability to save hearkens back to the PS, the Save locations are the Bathroom stalls, urinals, doors, sink, it depends on which of the VERY FEW saving locations you walk into. Other Bathrooms do not even have a save spot only a Boss. The movements of the main protagonist are choppy at best and the time constraints always end up in you not finishing something or other. This game was in NO way ready for release but, Holidays are coming and the all might $$££ got the best of Capcom. According to the Amazon site here are the "Features" which I would like to address separately: "Features * Play as the intrepid Chuck Greene, using all of your skills and available objects to eliminate the zombie threat (TRUE but graphics are 1st to 2nd Gen) * Face more zombies than ever before with increased undead numbers (NO, you face approximately 8 different zombies replicated to save time, eventually it is just the same old, same old) * Use your skills from past repair work and your handyman abilities to crush the evil beings (Half-truth, this can only be done as long as you don't miss your daily deadline for your daughters Zombrex injection). * Find even more objects that you can use to pulverize, slice and dice brain-eating monsters (They disappear after half dozen hits or so). * Experience a heart-pumping storyline as you try to defend a city made for glamour, not death (Storyline? The only real story line is that you must give your daughter her Zombrex each morning between 7AM & 8AM + your feud with a rival Dirt Bike racer) * Produced by Keiki Inafune, this game offers an exciting new experience and thrilling gameplay (I don't know what game this "Keiki Infune" is talking about but it IS NOT Dead Rising 2 there is nothing Thrilling about it, except maybe hoping to get back some of the money you spent $60 back on e-bay = isn't going to happen) * Play with a friend and have even more fun as you lure zombies in using strategic items like a toy helicopter or a firecracker (In this time of OPEN World gaming, they have handed you a sandbox in which you can play with 3 of your friends online. WOW Innovative ... please note sarcasm) * Terror is Reality mode allows four players to compete in a gladiator-type show that pits zombies against a group of players in the ultimate VS. multi-player blood bath (Just as worthless as the rest of the game with the exception of being able to chat with friends ... Oh wait I can do this with any game and have an open world, so forget I mentioned that) * Combine two everyday items using duct tape to create the ultimate zombie-killing creations, such as the Portamower and Paddlesaw (If you can take the time as missions tick away as does the time to get to your daughter with more zombrex that is only sold in Pawn shops that are usually nowhere near your missions) * Unlock combo cards along the way to get the advantage by learning what items are best for combining (Woo .... hoo ..... ) * Earn Prestige Points as you decimate more and more zombies with your creative contraptions" (only fun for about an hour then BORING) In Short, which I apologize that this is not. This game HAD a LOT of potential but just has so many frustrating moments, it makes for a BAD game, this game could have been so much better in the right hands. Some examples that really frustrated me: Saving: You forget to save and guess what, you have to start ALL OVER! No auto-save or instant save features. Time-limit: I also dislike the time limit. I understand that the initial reason was to make the game more engaging, however this doesn't work for me. I would just like to do the side missions without having to worry about the oh so frustrating time limit. Without the time limit this game could have been kind of similar to GTA. Missions: Another thing that frustrates me is how you enter a mission. You all of a sudden enter a mission while you are WAY OFF the actual icon on the map and were just passing through. Way points: Why can't we set a way point on our map? These are just a few examples the developers could have easily implemented, but just didn't for some selfish reason. It looks like the developers only concentrated on the feature to combine weapons, which is fun for an hour at most..

Killn' zombies!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Running around is fun, but when you try and save people who aren't zombies, they go so slow and this is what make she game not fun. If they could keep up and not get caught so much! Then it would be a great game instead of an ok game

Silly good fun.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My brother is the one who plays this and seems to have a great time with it. He likes making a bunch of different wacky weapons to kill zombies and plays online with his friends.

Enough with the time restraints
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are other ways to progress a story without putting a time restraint. The first game suffered from the same complaint. The way the game is designed, putting the 72hr limit really restricts the exploration of the game. Having a time frame does create a good sense of tension and urgency like watching a good zombie movie, but with so much to do it only hinders the experience. At least give us the option to disable the clock after the first playthrough. The online gameshow is a fun diversion plus you can use that money in game. Different protagonist, larger map, improved graphics and control are what you can expect from this sequel. If you haven't played the first game then there is no need. The protagonist's story is different but everything else is the same. It's still a fun game but I expected more changes from the first.

I Hate This Game!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is nothing more than a collection of annoyances. Missions are timed. Do in a sandbox game it restricts you from exploring. Even when not in a mission there is a timer to get your daughter Zombrex.... Next. Where do you even get Zombrex. I am looking for pawn shops and can't find any. I played for 3 hours and can't find any. Graphics are mediocre and very jumpy and choppy. Voice acting stinks and there is no voice when interacting with people. So while zombies are creeping up on you there is dialogue to read. Load times are totally disgustingly slow. It really kills the action. So much to do but so little time. You always feel rushed. I wanted to explore and make some weapons or just kill some zombies but that clock keeps on ticking away. So I have to run around aimlessly trying to find this mythical Zombrex pawn shop. I wanted to like this game so bad and even got it on launch day. However once again Capcom proves to be another let down. This game is only good for killing some time. But a true gamer looking for a good story and missions that make sense and don't all mash together will dismiss this game to the gutter like I did. I hate this game!

Great Game, not for everybody
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing about this is, you have to know what your getting. This game was not designed for graphics or storyline, its more of a comical take where you just go on a zombie killing spree. If you want something with top-notched graphics, and a suspenseful/serious storyline, play Resident Evil. If you want a laid back, easy to look at, where you just want to go on a zombie massacre, then this is your game. Don't expect much from the storyline of this game, basic B movie type of plot, the game is not very difficult, but can be challenging at times. It may have a short storyline, but is meant for re-playability, everything carries over except your current held items and zombie kills. This game gets both easier, and more fun each time through, more killing power with higher stats, playing experience, and some special items. Co-op is nice, but is a real pain to connect to games, I hope that future patches/updates will fix this issue. There is also a ranked co-op called Terror In Reality that is both fun and amusing, it is basically a game show type setting where you face off head to head to kill zombies, is there really anything else that needs to be said. (money earned in this carries over to the main story as well)

Stay AWAY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually don't do this kind of stuff, writing reviews and all that but I felt it necessary for this game. I rented this game in hopes that it was going to be top notch, like all the TV advertisements suggest. Well folks, I'm here to tell you I was wrong, dead wrong. First lets start with the game play, its pretty basic, go around killing zombies with various weapons. But that is basically all you do, over and over, and once more over again. Occasionally you'll fight against "bosses" (I only call them that because they are superior to you in every way, especially speed) but thats not even spectacular either. In a nut shell the game is a repetitive form of kill zombies, trying to rescue dumb victims occasionally, and kill a few "boss" like characters. There just isn't any life in it (and not to be taken as a pun). Next lets just talk about the loading screens. I hope I am not mistaken but I was pretty sure we were over the PS2 and XBOX days, there shouldn't have to be a loading screen for every single area, every single conversation, almost everything you do. It's just ridiculous. Personally game developers need to look at how God of War 3 did it, now that is a masterpiece all in itself. Now talking about next-gen consoles, the graphics are just mediocre. After a while all the landscape just blurred in and the zombies just looked alike (not saying they just reproduced them, but that wouldn't surprise me one bit). Basically this game boils down to being linear as can be, with time limited "quests" with the main storyline. The submissions are not even what I would call real submissions, just more boring quests. My advice to all is STAY AWAY, unless you like long loading screens, mediocre graphics, and boring simplistic game play.

OK for Zommbie Funs!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are a big fan of Zombie killing this game is just right for you. There is a lot of killing, many different ways (sometimes funny ways) Not a lot of games like this have a multiplayer.. this one has, so its a big plus! Its fun and if you really get into weapon combinations then it gets even better but overall its boring. Honestly first 2 hours of playing for me were fun then i just turned the game off, I was going to buy this game, but I rented it to try it out and changed me mind. So rent this game before buying it might get too boring for you after hour or 2.

This game is so addictive!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay people, stop whining about getting Katey Zombrex. You only have to do it 4 times in the game. Secondly, it takes like 2 minutes to get ANYWHERE in the entire game if you run with a wheelchair or utility cart, so the "time" issue is not bad at all, there's plenty of time to do most the missions. Thirdly, You can do any missions that you don't get to when you start the game over with all your current stats, so you demolish psychos like noone's business cuz you've leveled up. Stop hating on this game people who have not played it nearly enough. The whole bathroom with a boss in it is ONE MISSION, and the rest of the game it's a normal bathroom, know what ur talking about! Buy this game, it's hilarious to kill zombies in ridiculous ways, i could do it all day. It's fun, really challenging, and you can replay the game a lot because you keep unlocking cool weapon combos and skill moves. Don't listen to the hater's, I love this game, and I didn't even talk about the multiplayer!!

To each their own
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Each person plays video games differently and looks for different things out of each game. I had to stop thinking about what I was doing and just play to have fun with this game. There are some mandatory things you have to do for the story. These tasks are more often simple and far and few between. The more time you spend in this game just destroying things for fun the higher in level you get. You want to focus on leveling first. After you've beaten the game the first time then go back and be an perfectionist all you like. If you follow those rules most gamers will appreciate this game.

Ok Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was ok. I still think the first one was alot better. The storyline and gameplay was not what I expected. I had higher expectations of the game since the first one was awesome. However still worth playing if you like the first one.

Great game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game surprised me. I thought it was just a zombie-killing game that would collect dust after a week of play. But there is so much more to the game than just that. I'm not one to play a game longer than a week or two, but every time i play it, I find new things to keep me busy. It has very funny parts in the game (try on a banana-hammock and tell me you don't laugh) It is worth buying.

Great for Zombie Lovers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a zombie lover, so I waited in anticipation for this game to be released. I've played this game for about 8 hours thus far, and I'd say it has potential. The only thing I don't like about it is that each "mission" has a time limit on it, and it takes away from exploring and zombie killing because you're constantly trying to finish the mission. *SPOILER ALERT - The game is based on a 72 hour time limit, within that time you have to rescue people, and clear your name. That is a lot to do with restricted time. I'm hoping after I finish the game, I'm able to explore and do more than the allotted time. Check out my other game reviews on gamespot.com; gokusan6669

Not Everybody's Cup of Tea
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For 30 dollars the game is sure worth it's weight in gold and is an experience best suited for the PS3. Gameplay wise this game is quite simplistic, it might be it's simplicity that tends to make the game as enjoyable as it was for me. The thing is not to expect any thing big out of this game and go in with a mindset as brain-less as the zombies your about to brutally murder. One of the big sell points for the game was it's online play with mode like co-op and Terror is Reality which is a verses mode that mirrors the game show from the first sequence of game play with extra challanges added. Though co-op mode is only best when playing with friends who have microphones unless you want to comunicate through the same 3 annoying catchphrases uttered by your character. And if your expecting fun from co-op in any other way you might as well soak your head because half the time your gonna be rejected, 3/8ths of the time you'll be paired up with random homicidal manics who have gotten bored of zombies and instead try to pass the time taking wacks at you, and if your lucky 1/8th of the time you'll be paired up with a decent human being who doesn't seem interested in causing virtual domestic violence towards you. Also the visual presentation for this game is not to shabby to wear the point I've seen it top out at 90-ish FPS the downside is it can drop down to th 40 ish FPS. Overall for the money and mindless fun your gonna have this is a must have for anyone who has a brain and is not for those who comptimplates the consumption of brains.

Horribly Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a fan of zombie games. This zombie game was by far one of the worst I have played. The entire organization of the game makes it nearly impossible to explore. As exploring is the most fun part of games like this that makes it terrible.

Boring Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this game was going to be like Dead Island, but it was nothing like it. First off its timed so you can't really explore or do the side missions at your leisure. Second it's very repetitive and gets boring quickly. Not that I'm looking for an intelligent zombie game, but his just bored me very quickly. I guess Dead Island set the bar too high. I'll be looking forward to that sequel.
