The cameras seem to be very well made and for the price, especially if you can get it on sale, and or have the price, price matched by Best Buy, this system has a lot of features and the picture quality is excellent. This system comes with everything you need. And it's super easy to mount, install and set-up. But I highly suggest planning out ahead of time where you're going to want to have and mount each camera based on what you want to video record before starting the installation. That way if you need more cable, you'll know ahead of time and be able to order it and have it on hand when you are ready. FWIW, if it helps, I drew a basic diagram of my home and garage (which is detached), including my property lines and with the aid of a protractor and a ruler, I easily figured out, based on each cameras coverage area, what I wanted to make sure a cover and then decided where I wanted to mount the cameras, However, if you're not mechanically inclined, or concerned in any way, I highly suggest hiring someone qualified to do it for you. Because the last thing you want is a bunch of holes on your home or in the soffet because you didn't like where it was or because it didn't cover everything you wanted or thought it would. So if you don't want to mount, install and set-up everything yourself, I'm sure you can find someone on a site or app like Home Advisor. The only thing someone might need is more cable. And you'll only need more if and for any camera mounted more then 60' away from the DVR. Then you'll need to purchase more cable. Again, why I suggest planning ahead of time. Also, the manufacturer says not to and recommends against using more then 300' of cable for any one camera. And for anyone thinking about it, I wouldn't suggest using a splitter and try and use two cameras on one camera input. It's not gonna work! lol

We hve not had time to install these yet but we plugged them in to see how it looks on the screen and the quality is amazing! Looks it will take quite some time to install them but the quality is amazing!

I wanted this so I could install the dome cameras on the lower eves of the house, they are harder to tamper with. This is a great setup. Will record 7/24.

I bought these to replace my old ones. The video is crystal clear! Super HD. Easier to install and easier to use than my old system. I'm impressed!

I purchased these in December and installed them over the weekend. Cameras itself are good and picture quality is nice. The issue I'm having is the password that came with to login to DVR does not work. I contacted Defender-usa customer service, mind you, they do not have a phone number!!! It has to go through their contact form on the website and then you have to wait for their email back. They finally emailed back after requesting a lot of info for verification(understandable) with two passwords to try if they work. None of those two passwords worked. I emailed back and have yet to got a response. No option to reset or do anything. I spent 2 days installing cameras and wiring, drilling holes on my house, squeezing in my attic to connect wires, etc for this to not work. I can not get into the system and do anything, for that same reason im unable to look at my cameras on my phone. USELESS! What kind of company does not have a phone number for customer support!! Ridiculous!! I would NEVER buy this again and would not recommend at all!

I was excited to replace my outdated Lorex cameras. After planning my camera locations I started to route cables. The cables on the camera side are too short and I was unable to reach them regardless of what tools I used. I tried fishing them with a wire chase and was unable to connect. Now I have to pack everything up and return to store. My existing Lorex cameras had 3' of cable which allowed me to fish them. Disappointed. I wasted 2 hours of my time. trying to make them work.
