So I bought the 9080 towers after hearing the 9060s at the Brentwood Magnolia store. I was not disappointed, paired with rocket 44 audioquest speaker wire I dare you to find a closer actual theater experience. I was back and forth on spending the extra money on the 9080 center vs the 9060. I spent the money, got the 9080, and omg I can't explain how amazing this center channel is. I first used it with two small bookshelf speakers just to see how it would perform in the bass dept. No joke... this one center channel put out more bass than my 10 inch Klipsch reference premier sub. The center channel alone is capable of shaking your entire house with bass that grabs you in the chest. Yet, play something soft like jazz, or some Dean Martin, you can hear the wind whistling through the broccoli stuck in Dino's tooth. I will never buy another brand of speaker. Absolutely spend the money. You will not be disappointed.

Sound is great and I enjoy the built in sub. Very thankful!

Inlove my center speaker should set all speakers to get the best sound home theater system in your house. I get it the best deal

Wow this thing is amazing. I upgraded from the 9040 smaller center speaker to the 9080 i couldn't believe the difference. Mainly in the base sound. It goes well with the 9060 Tower speakers.

Speakers are incredible. This is an upgraded version from an old set of definitive technologies I had. Cannot believe how much more detail I hear out of the center speaker over the older generations.

Amazing sound quality worth every dime. I have zero complaints wish I would have done this sooner.

I am writing this one week after receiving my CS-9080. I am upgrading from a CS-9060 for no reason other than we have a big room and the CS-9060 doesn't project enough, it makes everyone sound baritone when turned up high. The BB discount made it a no-brainer. My first take is that the CS-9080 projects vocals much stronger than the CS-9060 and if you are listening to a track that has bass on the center channel the bass on this thing is ridiculous. It kicks as much as the 9060 mains. If you are on the fence don't hesitate, just wait for BB to have one of their twice annual sales. The prices during BB holiday 2022 is unreal. Well worth the investment. If I have any issue with Deftech speakers is that the cloth cover cannot be replaced by the end-user, my CS-9060 got a small tear in it. This significantly downgrades it's value when I go to sell it.

Usually, they do a better sale for Black Friday and Christmas. Buy 2 front channel and get the center for free. On with my review. I have a def tech pro monitor 600 system that I added 2 pro mon 800 speakers to get 7.1 surround. I noticed that I was missing a lot of base from sound tracks as the subwoofer was busy with special effects. For fun, I replaced my 2 fronts with 2 old school pioneer speakers from my basement (12 in subs). I noticed a big improvement in sound quality. This is what led me to drop the cash on the CS9080. What an improvement it was! Movie soundtracks sound like they are supposed to and voices are so much clearer and easier to hear than before. NEVER forget that close to 90% of all movie sound comes through the center channel. For me, this was money well spent. Make sure you change the settings in your receiver though. My center channel was set for a small satellite speaker and was blocking the base. Once I changed it from small to large, it started thumping like it should.

I can actually hear the voices on my tv when i'm watching tv shows and talk shows. Great Bass output through from my receiver. Which is great for Music and Atmos Movies. Nice and clear and no booming.

I did not think the center channel made a big difference in my 5.1 system. When I upgraded to this CS9080 my entire movie sound track came alive. The added power sub was definitively a plus. I have the BP9080 towers so this was a perfect fit. Totally worth the extra $ if you are looking for top quality audiophile clarity and power and punch. After all , a large part of the sound track is delivered through the center channel. Great value!

Fantastic sound. Goes well with my left and right definitive floor standing speakers. BUT, you need to have the speaker on a solid surface given the subwoofers are quite powerful. I had a metal open-styled unit for this speaker, my amps, etc. The metal vibrated wildlife when the subwoofer kicked in. Next Purchase: Definitive Surround Sound Rear Speakers...

What can you say about a $999.00 center channel for free. Outstanding. I took advantage of the 9080 CS speaker for free with the purchase of the 9080x Tower Speakers. The speaker is outstanding. However I have the speaker in a cabinet so it was necessary to turn the bass down to 1/4 of the highest setting to avoid too much bass vibration.

This center channel revolutionized my home theater experience. I had a Def Tech Mythos Center previously, but this center BLOWS it away. The dialogue is clear and crisp; the mis and lows are felt as well. Amazing speaker!

This center channel is epic, I originally purchased the 9020 and was not impressed. This is beyond imaginable. The front stage and full sound is unexplainable you just have to experience it yourself. The bass that comes from the sub on this alone is better than most subs that are separate.

Upgraded from a Definitive Technology pro center 2000. Bought it through the end of year package along with the 9080x. Very happy with it.

Excellent sound, style, but a little pricy. However, you can’t go wrong.

The speaker itself is excellent. I have it paired with the BPS 9080 and I couldn't ask for better. However, you will likely never notice the difference between this center channel and CS9040. The LED lights up when the subwoofer is active and it rarely happens. Meanwhile the bass from the tower speakers are more than enough. Second note is that I bought this open box. The amplifier was not working and Def Tech sent a replacement. Disappointed that Best Buy did not test it properly.
