Compared to the 9020 and 9040, the increased driver sizes along with the 10" Sub make the additional expense worth considering for the 9060's. Mine came with the CS9060 center channel, free with the BP pair. Being mostly an audiophile, it took some getting used-to, as the bipolar configuration can be disarming when you are so used to directed sound from a speaker system. For TV and cinema, I can honestly say I don't believe there is a better speaker system out there. I added a Martin Logan Dynamo 1100x for just a small bit of extra bass, lol, along with a pair of B+W 684 S2's for my rear speakers. This way, when I'm listening to TIDAL MQA Master recordings, via an iFi iDSD2 into a Marantz 6013, at "multichannel stereo", I'm getting the best possible sonics for music listening and jamming. If I were to be running music tracks only, my choice might be for B+W's, Front and Rear, but I'm not so sure, as the imaging I'm getting from this multichannel configuration (combining bipolars with the B+W's) is astonishing. I forgot to mention...I added the A90 Atmos modules to the 9060's. They work well but perhaps not as distinct due to the fact that these are mounted on top of a bipolar speaker, so you can't expect a high level of separate imaging from the Atmos drivers. All in all, the quality and sonic capabilities of the DefTech products I have purchased surprised me greatly. I did not expect I would be so ecstatic about a pair of bipolar speakers. I want to finish by letting folks know that the internal powered subwoofers are terrific, yes, but they are best used to even-out or balance the overall sonics of the bipolar technology (IMHO) more than doing away with the need for a separate subwoofer. I personally prefer the additional sub and especially this particular 1100x as you can fine tune each track via a bluetooth app. Awesome control over low-pass filters, volume crossovers and much more (including the ability to peel unwanted wallpaper and dislodge pesky old paint chips). I chose the Marantz as I discovered almost everything else out there right now is not constructed in accordance with my preferred components and configurations. I'm referring to the circuitry itself, not the bells and whistles. Just my views, of course. Happy hunting.

It has been a year since I purchased these speakers for my home theater. My first priority was to have an immersive sound that rivals going to the movies. The Marantz SR 7012 receiver powers these, plus the DT 8" 3-way center channel speaker, the two DT cube speakers on top for height speakers and two in-ceiling DT 6.5" speakers for rear surrounds. So far the sound from the main towers and the cubes have been sufficient where I don't need the two front surrounds in the ceiling but I plan to add them to round it out. I'm not sure how much of a difference it'll be but i'll add an update once I do. After hearing them in the store I was a bit nervous slapping down all those Benjamins for these speakers. I was considering the Klipsch speaker set before. But after hearing these in the demo I was blown away. After breaking them in for a few months, they are absolutely amazing and I think they are still breaking in. Movies sound spectacular and balanced when turned up as well as at low volumes. I even have the bass input on the speakers turned down slightly less than half and it still rattles the house. Music tracks are also amazing. I love sitting in front of these speakers in stereo mode and listening to jazz while closing my eyes because it feels like i'm in front of a live band... It's that real. My wife also loves them because they're inconspicuous. There aren't two subwoofer boxes taking up room in the living room but you get the earth shaking sound from them. I could just imagine how much more I can get from them if I added a dedicated amp. If you are on the fence, go for these DT's... you will not be disappointed. Like I said, its been a year, I've gotten over the initial sticker shock after the first month and even a year later I still get a smile every time I power these on.

These speakers look and sounds great. i have been using BP8020 for a while, i wanted to upgrade to something bigger for larger area, to keep the atmos and surround speaker for voice match this was an obvious choice. it is placed in an open area in basement so Sc6000 Sub is part of system, so my system is 5.2.4 dolby atoms, paired with Marantz sR6013, i am still in the break in period, i know it will sound much better in a month or so. I might have gone for 9080 but i already have Mythos height speakers so i didn't go that rout, saving money for the center speakers. unboxing is super easy if you follow the instruction, i was able to unpack it my self with out any issues, make sure you unbox it near the location of speakers it would be hard to move them once out of box, there are plugs for connection, if you need to use banana plugs you need to take them off. use of Aluminum is very nice touch, base is much nicer than the 8000 series speakers. this should be on list if one is looking for larger speakers.

After LOTS of research, reviews and hours in the Magnolia Demo Room, I purchased the BP9060's, CS9060 and a pair of SR9080's for the rear all powered by a new Marantz SR7010. Let me start by saying this.... it will give you Goose Bumps!! After set up and tweaking the sound to what I like.... I cranked it up by playing the Dolby Atmos Demo found on YouTube and the sound is absolutely AMAZING!! The sound is clean, balanced from speaker to speaker and you can tell these speakers want to be pushed more!! I don't have the A90's yet, bet even without it the speakers surround you making it sound like rain is coming from the ceiling!! We hear sounds we missed with our old set up and love the rich sound coming from the center speaker. If you're loooking for a new set up, you can't go wrong by investing in these speakers!! Would recommend a strong receiver as it makes quite a difference! I started with the Marantz SR6010 and exchanged it for the SR7010... Quite a noticeable difference in sound and clarity.

I demo'd everything in the magnolia room then I bought 2 of these towers. I bought them primarily for watching movies. The sound I was looking for was when T-rex roars on Jurassic park movies or anything that shakes at a theater, that's what I wanted at home. I currently have these in my living room with 18 feet high ceilings. I was worried they wouldn't sound good in my living room, but they sound great and fill the room with sound. They shake the entire house when the right movie scene is on. My mother in law said go to the movies for what, we have that right here lol! I can't wait to put these in my media room they will sound much better then, less space to fill. My fiancé loves them as well, she connects her phone to the receiver with blue tooth and listens to music while she cooks/cleans the house. I purchased a Marantz 5011 receiver with these towers incase anyone is wondering. I recently purchased the center channel speaker, the 9060 can't wait to get that.

I thought I wanted bookshelf speakers until I heard these. I've been using these for my L/R mains (along with a DT Center) for a few months now. I was blown away from the start but after moving this to my new HT basement setup and going back to my Klipsch bookshelf/center I've been using for 10 years in the family room it was ridiculously obvious... these floor standing just sound so much more true to life for movies and TV. Music is more clear and detailed than I've ever heard in my own home. I have these paired with a CS9060 center and SVS SB2000 sub and some sides and rears in the ceiling for a full 7.1 setup and could not be more pleased. The bass output is probably enough for most. Unless you have these in a basement or are far from neighbors it's hard to imagine most people needing more.

I first purchased Definitive speakers back in the mid-1990s. I had a 50" rear projection TV and added 5.1 surround sound to it around 1994. I loved the Definitive towers and still have them today as part of an 84" HD projection TV room. So when I set out to create a new TV room in my new vacation home, I did not hesitate to make Definitive my first choice. I shopped around, but came back to them quickly. A significant bonus was not needing a separate sub-woofer. The 10" woofers in these towers deliver great thundering bass when called upon to do so and beautiful highs and midrange all the time. I also purchased the matching Definitive center speaker. I love having the option of upgrading to 9.x in the future inside these towers and purchased a Marantz SR-6011 receiver that supports that as well. As an aside, I use Orb Audio M2s for my surround speakers. They are small, blend in with the ceiling and have great sound.

These speakers are fantastic. I really love everything about them. I was even impressed with the machined billet base. I have service related significant hearing loss and hearing people talk while watching tv is difficult at best with the old sound bar. I can now hear everything clearly while watching tv. The sound during playing music is incredible and has a nice rich full bass to it. This is as close to being at a concert I have ever felt. I have wanted this setup for about 6 or 7 years and I simply didn't want to spend this much cash. I now wish I had done it years ago.

First, the good: these speakers sound awesome and have very good bass performance. They definitely perform well, especially with DVD’s. Now, the not so good. Both towers have had problems with their built in amplifiers within three months of purchase. One failed and had to be replaced, and other has blown a fuse. I am hopeful that this is isolated and there will be no further problems. I also have the 9080 towers and haven’t had a problem. Yet. That purchase is just a few weeks old, so, we’ll see. I must say, Definitive Technology’s customer service is awesome!

Got a pair of 9060's and 9040 center channel driven by a Yamaha 1060 receiver and what a killer combination!!! the sound is amazing!!! and the look, fit and finish is top-notch. Yamaha's musiccast app is a really nice tool to operate the whole system. If someone is looking into these speakers do yourself a favor and listen to them driven by a Yamaha aventage receiver, there is a huge difference and you will be getting the most out of them.

I usually have bought Bose and Klipsch products in the past. This was the first leap into high end audio for me. I have got myself a home theater in the basement and I just love these speakers. They are worth the price. These were my clear choice among competitors which included B and W and Martin Logan series. It is however anyone's personal choice to what kind of speakers they like. Reviews aside, please hear out these bad boys all in comparison before making a decision . Everyone has a different music taste so what's good for one may be so so for the other.

I purchased a pair of these along with the CS9060 center channel, and wow did it make a difference over my old speakers. Granted, those were starters to hold me over until I could get better ones. But these speakers leave you with zero desire to get a dedicated subwoofer at all. The bass response is enormous, and since it's localized to the "correct" speaker, just adds to the immersion. Definitive has officially sold me on their products, and I will not be leaving their brand anytime soon.

These speakers create more of an atmosphere than a sound. My home theater finally feels all-encompassing. I can not describe the quality of the true-to-life experience these speakers provide. I paired mine with the Pioneer Elite 9.2 with the 9060 Center and Dolby Atmos toppers (genius design). I picked up a pair of 9040 surround bookshelf speakers and I couldn’t be happier. This is an absolute insanely clean and immersive sound. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

It was time to upgrade my def tech pro 600 series and like most guys I got carried away with the looking.........once I heard these at the King of Prussia location I was sold! Loud, clear and pin point accurate!! Picked up the center channel CS9060 and also Gem's for the rear. All powered by Yamamha 2050 and just couldn't be happier!!! If you are even thinking about these I would say just get them. At $1100 each they aren't cheap but they are worth every penny!

Love these speakers. I couldn't use a center channel speaker or sound bar due to the physical lack of space. This pair not only acts as the front speakers, but simulates the center so successfully that it makes the center unnecessary. The sound is WAY better than ANY sound bar. Can hear voices perfectly. This pair might also save money over inferior speakers which require the additional cost of a center speaker. Get these! They are great!

I debated between these and the BP9080s. My home theater room is about 20x18 so its not huge and I was worried the BP9080s would over run the room. I decided to go with the BP9060s and I was really glad that I did. These speakers dont break a sweat filling my room with clear and precise music or sound tracks without blowing out the windows. They have a very nice high and mid range response and because the bass has its own control you can add as much bass as you like. I am very pleased with the speakers thus far.

After a visit to a Best Buy Magnolia Department, I was surprised by the clarity of these speakers with Subwoofer incorporated. I was looking how to reproduce Dolby Atmos without having to brake the ceiling to install speakers. Well, here was the solution, you can add A90 Height Speaker Module on top that will bounce from the ceiling and create an immersive room filled sound. Very Happy how turn out my home theater with Dolby Atmos.

Both times I went to the store to check out TV's and a stereo system, only one of the Def Tec 10 inch Tower speakers was working. I listened to the 8 inch Towers and ultimately went with the 10 inch Tower speakers, as the single 10 inch Tower performed as well as the two 8 inch Towers did. The Towers are in a room that is 21' x 26' with a 12 foot high ceiling... These Towers perform great, with highs, mids and ample BASS.

I recommend you do your research on line then take your price to Best Buy so they can match or beat competitors prices. I did and saved big time.I saved so much it paid for the matching center channel.

Impressed with the packaging, could tell from that The product was going to be different. Thought out from the very start, even on getting things unpacked, they designed it out to make it easy. Alternate footings for hard surfaces or carpet. The powered amp feature is great. Very good rich sound on movies and on music.
