Best computer I have ever owned. Super fast, it did show up with a dead pixel, but I can live with it since I use a monitor.

I like the Specs of this laptop but it has had some issues with blue screening several times since I have had it. I looked at a lot of online videos for the Dell G5 but they were always the Ryzen 5 or 7 variants . I know this variant can be better than what it is out the box. the Radeon software seems to be buggy at times. It crashed when I tried launching a game from the Alienware Command Center app home page. I had to reinstall The Radeon software at one time when it gave an error message about graphic version not matching. Freesync would not work even after reinstalling radeon software from AMD website. Since then I have been tweaking this machine following advice from the Redditors dedicated Dell page and some Youtubers. Like I said earlier ,I like the Specs on this AMD Dell G5 but it has to undergo some tweaks. It did not have the chipset driver installed when I checked the device manager, had to get it off Dell Support site. I am getting it to where I want little by little. I like that it has the 1TB SSD installed but games these days can take all that up with the massive sizes and updates with massive sizes. I use an external 5Tb hard drive to currently run Steam and Origin games off ,before I will install another SSD. I have not seen the Temperature go above the 60's while gaming . At normal web activity I see the temps around the 50's Celsius. The price point was what caught my eye in the first place for a Ryzen 9 that was kicking Intel butt sometime back. This is my first ryzen computer . I'm liking it more and more as I get rid of the issues it came with. I attached a Bluray drive out of an older laptop and watched great looking movies on this Dell G5. That was to just see what it looked like.

This was a decent purchase but mine has a few problems and I would have gone with something else. The specs are great however, the worst part about this laptop is it overheats alot which will probably cause long term damage inside, also my RGB keyboard never works properly it always goes in and out never working when I press the button for it, the battery doesn't last long when unplugged, I have had multiple software issues namely the blue screen of death only 2 months after I got it as well as multiple times it becomes completely unresponsive and shuts off. Things that were physically just inconvenient are the plastic top (originally, I thought this was metal in the picture) and the weight of both the computer and the sheer size of the charger is beyond insane). It wasn't a bad buy because the computer is fast and can do a lot of tasks at once which is what I needed to run the program I need for college however, I would have chosen something different had I known the issues. Thankfully I did buy the 3-year protection so I will be getting it checked out once this semester has ended since I may be without it for a bit while they fix the issues.

I give it a 4star because it is still new to me. The screen pairing and bluetooth are great though when adding devices back to back may freeze it up, try tinkering and find the right solution to which application should be opened first. Also I'm not used to office 365 and do not like the fact that it needs a online connection. I'm much about privacy and having originality to my work without it being spread so thin over the internet but I guess that is a software issue. Also, still looking to see if this program is an already activated subscription. Dragging any files on to the Pc is fast. Something that took hours now takes minutes. I also been told because its components are more advance than my old laptop that it drains a significant amount of energy. It does....my battery doesn't last too long off the charger about 2hours or a bit more. And that's with the screen saver on..... could be my settings. But even when it's completely shut down and fully charged ... The battery idling will last no more than 2days max. I tried connecting it to my phone (android) and it work very nicely and easily. I love playing my music from the bluetooth. The Hp laptop itself is physically nice even though I may have got a used one even when I purchased a new one. I had it delivered and It didn't look very securely wrapped and when I took it out the screen was opened like someone had dropped it or tampered with it. But I snapped it back on and it didn't seem like there wasn't any real damage so I just decided to hold on to it. I really like the laptop and hope I can write another review later on this year.

Good gaming laptop. Even better value if you get it on sale. The 144hz screen is good and the keyboard lighting can be customized. Ran all games at native resolution and max settings.

When I first ordered this computer it came in later than promised to the store. So I called the store but got the National Operator. Apparently all calls to the stores get forwarded to this system. Without going into detail, my experience calling and dealing with National Operators was just awful. Thus 4 stars instead of 5. BestBuy needs to up their game here. As for the Dell G5.... when I first started to install the OS it suffered a glitch and hung. So I took it to Geek Squad and they fixed it in less than 10 minutes. No problem. Since then, this computer has been nothing short of amazing. The Ryzen 9 is the fastest processor in a computer than I have ever had. Rapid, fast, incredible. My only issues are with BestBuy's National Operator system. The operators need trained properly. Calling them is like hitting a brick wall. They lack knowledge and are rude.

Love it!! Bought it for my daughter who is going to college next year. She loves it!! She is able to do her senior work plus photos on this device. Wonderful investment!!! I want to purchase myself one in the near future!

Dell - G5 15.6" Gaming Laptop - 144Hz - AMD Ryzen 9 4900H is amazing. I will never buy Intel processor computer again. This performs amazingly for a fraction of the price of an Intel comparable model.

One of the best gaming laptops for the price..runs everything i throw at it flawlessly ..looked at much higher priced computers but most had less to offer!! its been 100 percent since it came out of the box!!

It’s exactly what I expected. Only mild complaint is that when opening the screen, with one hand, the entire laptop may move up. Otherwise, this seems like a good, powerful laptop. Make sure to adjust the AMD settings!

Overall solid computer... love the specs and it really helps to bring out the best in the older games! One of the minor rough points is that it gets really hot... other than that I love being back in the gaming world with this G5!

Fantastic laptop! Perfectly suited as an all around internet browsing and work laptop with the hardware and capability of a gaming laptop. Cant really find too many flaws to complain about, might consider this one of my favorite pieces of tech i own now.

I was hesitant to buy a dell because as far as ive known theyre garbage. Of course the ryzen 9 seemed very appealing and promising. I picked this laptop up and less than 2 weeks in im getting fan errors at start up. I havent even used this thing more than a handful of times. Ridiculous. I am absolutely returning this item. No reason i should be getting fan errors already right at start up too. The power button is also pretty annoying in comparison to other laptops i have owned

I am a Dell girl but this one, I returned extremely quickly. The battery would only stay charged for less than 2 hours. I did not use this laptop for gaming but for work. It was purchased for the Ryzen 9 and hard drive. When I returned it, I was advised that since this was a gaming laptop, it was "not made to be mobile" but instead to "plugged up all the time". What is the point of having a laptop if it is not mobile?????

So to start off I notice everyone else says how nice of a laptop this is and I'm sure it is if you didn't get a garbage one. So far alienware program has completely quit working, It won't even allow me to reinstall it. I've lost all backlit keys they no longer light up. I am now getting the BSOD randomly in under a month I decided to hold on to this until the very last day just out of spite and not being able to go out but I wouldn't recommend unless your ready to try fix a crap ton of problems after a month

fast! I like speed. Graphics are fast. This is the second of this series I purchased this year. Very strong everything. Ya got to get one!!

An excellent product. Super fast, not much blote-ware, and it even looks sexy with its prismatic aluminum shell. I love it!

Excellent computer, I returned it only because I wanted to put a 2nd nvme drive in (which I did) to put Linux OS on. Linux just did not work well with AMD. Not a fault with the computer but Linux compatibility.
