So slow it’s unusable

I bought it to teach ESL classes online through a China-based company; however, it is so slow that I cannot use it for this purpose. I am stuck using a tiny Chromebook that is 4 years old, which is still much faster than this computer. None of the other devices in my house have this problem, and I have tried using an Ethernet cord for this computer (to no avail), so I know it is not the WiFi, and is indeed a problem with the computer. I have also tried all the tips for increasing speed performance that I could find online, also to no avail. Do not buy this, especially from Best Buy, since their return window is so short. Don’t waste your money.

1. Close all open windows.
2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
3. Click Control Panel.
4. Click System and Security.
5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems.
6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process.
8. Restart the PC.

We'd recommend that you consider limiting the number of programs that launch at startup when you turn on your computer. You can follow these steps to limit these programs:
1. Close all open windows.
2. Press CTRL + Shift + ESC key together on the keyboard.
3. In the Task Manager window, click Startup tab.
4. Select the program or application that you want to disable from loading during startup.
5. Right-click and select Disable.
6. Repeat Step 4 & 5 for all the programs or applications that you want to disable from loading during startup.
7. Restart your PC. We hope these tips help your computer start up smoother for you.

We're sorry that your new Dell computer is not performing the way you'd like it to. According to the image for this laptop on Best Buy's website it appears that the headphone jack is on the right side of the laptop between the SD card reader and the USB port.
