We're sorry that your computer is not running as fast as you'd like it to. We'd recommend running the Windows Performance Troubleshooter to see if there's anything you can do to make your computer run faster:
1. Close all open windows.
2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
3. Click Control Panel.
4. Click System and Security.
5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems.
6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process.
8. Restart the PC.

He is a Sunday School teacher and he could not download the new programs anymore. This laptop has the memory he needs and is up to date. It is so much faster than his old one. He is very happy with this lap top and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade. Definitely in my price range, we think it was really worth it.

Super slow and bulky. Consider a different model

He needed a basic machine as his was slow and clunky. The salesperson told me this was faster. It was difficult to test that at the store. The start-up takes at least 2 minutes. Access to Internet sites takes at least a minute - even with the highest speed modems. We clear cache and cookies - believe me, this is a machine to stay away from. I am so disappointed that I was in such a hurry that I trusted the salesperson and the Dell name. I wish I would have splurge for a Mac or at least an X1

A basic laptop for the price

Found this and it is fulfilling what I need at present. There are occasions where it is slow during start up (been that way since setting it up, but then again I was only looking for something minimal). The fan does work over-time though.

We're glad to hear that your computer is working well for you. We'd recommend limiting the number of programs that launch at startup if you are experiencing a slow startup speed. Here are the steps to do this:
1. Close all open windows.
2. Press CTRL + Shift + ESC key together on the keyboard.
3. In the Task Manager window, click Startup tab.
4. Select the program or application that you want to disable from loading during startup.
5. Right-click and select Disable.
6. Repeat Step 4 & 5 for all the programs or applications that you want to disable from loading during startup.
7. Restart your PC.
