Great laptop and very easy to use technically. Only critic is that the mouse pad is a bit odd. We'll buy a wireless mouse to accompany it. Nice wide screen and love the touch screen features.

There is a great basic computer. I'm very satisfied with it so far. My only comments are that the speakers aren't the greatest and the mouse area could be a bit more responsive. But those aren't really complaints - as I said, it's great overall. It's a solid piece.

Good computer for the amount of money spent. Took back a more expensive computer to get this one and seems to be much better. Little slow at times, but for the amount of things I do with it, it is just fine.

My parents wanted my fiance to have a computer for him to do his homework on the go. And it's a touchscreen. He just loves it. Never had a touchscreen computer before. We watched Netflix on there and its just really easy to use. No mouse needed. He loves the ease of having one.

This computer is really excellent. It has touch screen capability as well as a great keyboard - it can be a bit over sensitive at times but that is probably due to me!! The set up of the computer was really easy and I bought the Microsoft Office 365 and that was easy to install and it came with 6 months of free anti virus (I chose Kaspersky) and that was easy to install too although the anti virus can be a bit over protective on the web but you can list trusted websites which helps. The computer comes with Windows 8.1 and although I have read reviews about people not liking it I find it brilliant and really easy to use and it definitely helps having the touchscreen ability as Windows 8.1 works well with that. It has great screen resolution and the speakers are really good which is unusual for a computer! It is a very user friendly computer and I would highly recommend it as it is an amazingly low price. Also this computer.has three USBs one is a USB3 and the others are USB2 and it can connect using an ethernet cable and it has a built in DVD drive which is brilliant and it can connect to a TV with HDMI cables, so all in all it has everything that one would want.

Nice laptop for the price. Touch screen is handy. Had hoped for a little more speed but will they ever be fast enough?

The computer is big, but I like that since I can watch movies directly from it when I feel like it. It might be a little too big if you are planning on taking it along with you. It works ok, though it is a bit slow.
Overall it is a good computer and it is fit to use it as a personal computer.

Purchased an Apple! Decent machine but not for me!

With a budget of $400 I originally purchased an HP AMD with a Quad Core after i accidentally sat on my Older HP laptop. I went with the HP because my original HP has by far met my needs and is still doing so as a desktop with two screens plugged into it. Dependability and reliability are important to me as well as decent speed. Lets just say the New HP replacement I purchased was sub par to even my oldest machine. The review is on this website as well. I then did more research once I decided to return the HP because I was not satisfied. I ran across this Dell, and per the reviews, seemed to be a good machine. After owning it for a month, I've realized I'm still not happy with its performance. This is a Laptop for people that do nominal web surfing and word processing. The touch screen and keyboard are great however the mouse pad can be a bit tricky sometimes as I would click and things would come up that I was not wanting. Maybe I don't totally like windows 8.5... Lag time was my overall issue. At times while opening a program or a new window online it would certainly not move fast. I've been trying to convince myself that for the money this is acceptable. However since then, I decided Id look into Apple and I found what met my needs. A well designed Machine fit for a designer. Although 4 times the money I am happily awaiting its arrival as this one gets packaged up to be returned.
Overall a decent machine but don't expect it to deliver a ton as it was not designed for heavy use. At $400 this is a great machine for a student or professor, not a for professionals in the Design world.

Not the latest in tech. That said, fast processor and touch screen, Bluetooth, much more than expected for the price. I gave it 4 stars but if price is a factor this is a great deal and a 5 star

This is a dell laptop with Touch screen and i3 processor. I am very happy with the purchase. The performance seems to be good. The speakers seems to be very basic however it is a good laptop for the kids for the price. Dell was selling it for 479 when I got it from BestBuy for 379.

Needed an update for a general use laptop and this device has met the needs just fine. This is my first venture with Win 8 and then also a touch screen system. Still have to remind myself to 'touch' but it is proving to be a real asset.

My Inspiron 2200 (from 2004) couldn't keep up any more, it was time to upgrade. I'm not a gamer and I don't do any video/music editing, but for everything else, this is fine. Windows 8.1 takes getting used to, but I like it (I had XP). I thought that a touch screen on a laptop was a useless gimmick, but now I like that too. My only complaint is the touchpad, the pad and mouse buttons are on the same surface, instead of the buttons being separate from the pad. I prefer a textural difference so that I know where I am on the touchpad without double checking (not a deal killer). Occasionally the pointer arrow gets stuck for a few seconds (another reviewer said the same thing), but overall I'm very happy.

I bought this laptop from my brother, its pretty good deal and nice touch, good audio quality. Webcam is not that good in resolution, however other features compromise that good to have for this laptop at this price.

I was looking for a basic windows laptop and found this one. I am really happy with the features and getting touch screen at this price is not at all a bad option. The execution speed is decent. I have been using MAC from long time so the size/weight was a real difference but you can definitely ignore that on the price feature match.

I bought this laptop because I dropped my old one and broke the LCD screen. It's nothing really special. I use it for typical web browsing and word processing. It was good for the money I paid for it.
