I purchased this laptop during the Pre Black Friday. The SSD (Solid-State Drive) is very positive on the speed. In addition, the touch screen functionality is also very positive. On the other hand, the display colors seem washed out. It is the first time I need to activate Microsoft Windows. Due to it came under S-Mode, it is not allowed to install any programs. It really bothers me because it was not informed on the laptop description .

This little guy gets the job done! I have used this for about 8 months, since our company sent us home to work due to the pandemic. I always have lots of windows open, and programs, without issues. Great value for the price. Lightweight, too. Only issue is you can’t tell when the num key lock is on. No backlighting on the keyboard either...so if you hunt and peck, keep the lights on =}

I got this laptop for my wife as a Christmas present, but I had to give it to her early. She needed a laptop with speed and an easy to use touch screen to dominate her social media presence. So far so good because she is entering more blog hop giveaways than ever before and winning. Stuff just shows up at the house that she doesn't even remember entering to win! Thanks Dell and Best Buy for marking it down.

Wow about sums it up. Talk about a lot of bang for your buck. I looked at multiple laptops for my 14yr old son. His only request was for it to have a touch screen & I could handle the rest of the specs. This thing checked all my boxes, SSD, latest i5 chip, big screen, good memory, etc. Plus with the black Friday deal this PC could not be touched at it's price point.

Wanted a laptop that met my minimum hardware requirements and was also under $500. Well this little number showed up on sale and for the price it was hard to pass considering my needs. No gaming or heavy editing, just tons of spreadsheets and web browsers with some small needs for installing work related software. Software installation being #1 reason why chromebooks weren't an option for similar prices. Laptop does come with "Windows S" , but was easily switched to "Windows 10" from the Microsoft Store page. Switching back is another story though, will require rebooting and loading Windows. If you have other higher resolution displays , you will definitely notice the difference in the font sharpness itself alone. Maybe not buy, if you plan on watching videos regularly on device or sharing content on display with others. As viewing angles are not the greatest , you needn't be head on but might as well be for the best viewing experience. Backlight decent enough for quality of resolution, I do find myself turning brightness down regularly vs always attemping to increase if you can relate to that. All in all I'm satisfied, as I bought this laptop primarily for work purposes and traveling. I would hate to haul around and leave in some places a $1000+ dollar device. Just because It could do more things faster although I wouldn't even notice what I was missing out on....... Weigh your expectations against your available means. This is fairly fast computer for the price and it has a touch screen and SSD. However, you'll need to dump S mode to run chrome or any other app not approved by Microsoft. I bought this for my college student and it works great for his needs. The solid state drive helps ensure he doesn't lose his data should it be banged around too much in his backpack.

Originally selected this Dell for the screen size & price to start with. Windows 10 was new for me. Don't use the touchscreen much and it's in perfect shape still. It's lightweight and fits in a backpack nicely. Almost 2 yrs later, I'm happy with this purchase and recommend this laptop.

We put off Windows 10 until now, but are slowly adjusting. The laptop is fast, was easy to set up and has a nice touch on keyboard. The main negative is the S Mode. I do not like that you are limited to Microsoft chosen apps. They say you can switch from S Mode, but once you do you can not go back without a factory reset.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas. I was trying to set it up for her so it would be ready to go in Christmas. I had already had a Microsoft subscription. I downloaded it but bc it was in S mode, it wouldnt work. After reading reviews and googling, I finally got it out of s mode. Just google how to switch out of s mode. And follow instructions. I would have given this a 5 star but the s mode situation caused me to spend a couple of hours on something that could have been done in a few minutes had there been CLEAR instructions in the box. There were no instructions in the box. Item works great and seem fast.

I bought this laptop at thanks giving deal and I must thanks best buy to offering me this deal. Super easy setup (even turning off S Mode) and decent configuration. I have been using for almost a month now and I am happy with its performance. I would definitely suggest for this to my family and friends.

Bought this laptop for the wife last year so she would have a dedicated machine with all her documents and teaching materials in a better machine than the district was trying to issue her. This thing is powerful enough to keep her multiple apps running in the new distance learning environment and she has nothing but good things to say about it. She uses this thing for 6-8 hrs a day now. Battery life is great. Touch screen is very helpful for all the digital grading she has to do now. Processing speed is perfect, wifi connectivity is stable and reliable and the blue tooth paired with noise cancelling headphones works like a charm! Highly recommended to make your life easier. If you have not updated your laptop in 2-3 years and are working from home...I would really recommend doing so and considering this machine. It makes a world of difference to have an up to date machine if your entire job is based in it. Really, it is worth the expense.

I bought this laptop as part of the door buster sale and I absolutely love. it is a very fast laptop. It did come in the S mode but switching out of the S mode was very simple and easy. I also like the fact that it is touch screen. It is a very great laptop. and i am very happy with my purchase.

I am writing this review after 1-year use. This is the best laptop I have ever had. It works really fast. Touch interface is very much responsive. It gives you feeling of having both laptop and tablet. Really recommend for those who wants to work fast.

This laptop is fast and efficient. Has touchscreen but the color of the monitor isn't vibrant. I changed the Windows 10 S unto Windows 10 Home so I could install Google Chrome as my web browser. Good thing it includes free Trend Micro Anti-virus Scanner for the whole year.

I also bought it as a Black Friday doorbuster and so far so good. It has a very fast startup and I was able to enable the S mode quite easily. The only thing I'm NOT HAPPY with is the display. The colors seem washed out and dull compared to other laptops. Not sure if this is a defect on my screen or all Inspiron 153000 are like this. Any thoughts? I would give a lower rating because this really disappointed me, but as far as the functions, everything works great.

I purchased this laptop to replace my windows 7. Overall the laptop Is great with the specs it comes with. Be aware that the windows version it come preinstalled only lets you install software from the Microsoft store. The speed of the laptop is great and touch screen is good. The screen size is fine is not planning to travel a lot with it. It does seem a little heavy to me for travel but should work if it’s not a constant thing. Do recommend a wireless mouse as it’s just a lot easier that pad.

Got this for $350 on black friday for a 16 year old. So far so good. There was an issue where Windows wouldn't activated, but not sure if that was from how we went through the initial setup or not. I was able to figure it out by going through the troubleshooting menu. One thing I didn't like, but I don't think that is specific to this laptop, is Windows 10 S. I had never heard of this before - it's basically a locked down safe mode version that Microsoft considers a "feature". It is not a feature - it's MS trying to rule the world again. It won't let you download anything other than apps from MS, such as google chrome. Very convenient for them - it is free and easy to "upgrade" it to standard windows 10 home, but just another step you have to take to make the laptop actually useful. Again, I don't think this is the laptops fault. In the end, it's very good for the price.

I bought this during black Friday so I got a smoking deal for a Dell computer. My old Dell was from 2009 with windows 7 and desperately needed replaced. It does take some time to get used to the differences between windows 7 and 10 though.

we found a very very great deal on this dell laptop on black friday. And we are extremely happy with the product for the price paid. my wife uses it only for her school work, and minor internet and is very very fast for her.
