Should have returned it. it is fast but there is no solution for DELL's heating issue. I got 2 Dells, 1 Lenovo & 1 Samsung in my home. Both Dells heat up like oven. While Lenovo & Samsung are cool. Obvious design issue with Dell laptops. as far as speed is concerned it is fast indeed, but heavy, cant carry around. 2-in-1 feature for such a heavy laptop is like "mocking your intellect" i.e useless I got open box for $750 that's why kept it but with all the heating issue its not even worth $750. you cant use it without a cooling pad, so its more of a "Flat desktop" not a "laptop". Better buy SAMSUNG or Lenovo.

We understand how frustrating an overheating laptop can be and we would love to help right away. Here are some tips that can help prevent overheating from happening:
1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.

I promised I don't have a "defective unit". This is a common issue with this laptop 1.) It CONSTANTLY loses wifi signal which is HORRIBLE for zoom calls and interviews and streaming and anything that requires internet use. 2.) When you plug the charger in, the fans start up and it gets very loud. 3.) It gets really hot when you're charging it so using it while it's charging will be very uncomfortable, especially if you want to put it on your lap. If you pay attention, most of the positive reviews come from people who have only had the laptop for a few days/weeks.
