This laptop has a great build. Very premium feeling. The stickers on the keyboard can be removed with ease to create a cluttered-free look. Battery life is approximately 8 hours which is fair. My only issue is that there is a popping sound that occurs from the speakers. It happens randomly when I am using Chrome. I cannot reproduce it but it happens randomly. It must be an issue with one of the audio drivers.

If you're looking to purchase this laptop for a student or small business, this PC is perfect. On sale at $650 this week and it's a great buy. The laptop is very responsive with the i5 and a solid state hard-drive (SSD). The touch screen is great. although it's not as bright as other laptops. I find the whites are dull, but I was looking for affordable, reliable, and fast. That's what I got. Happy shopping...

I purchased 1 of these laptops and was so impressed with the unit for the price that I went out and bought another laptop. I have two technicians currently using them everyday in the field and they are holding up. Upon initial purchase I had some driver errors that kept popping up but after I did all the updates it is working very well. The construction was very nice and solid as well. The only true thing of note is it has no Ethernet port. Not a huge issue for my techs because we have to use adapters and connectors to program most panels anyways. If you are only going to be using WiFi then this is a really decent machine for the price. I also had to add the Pro edition but it was cheaper to just add Windows Pro than to have a machine with it already built on it with the same specs as this unit.

I purchased this product as a business and personal laptop. I chose the i5 because better price point and i7 speed was not required. I have used it every day since purchased. Netflix runs very good. Web runs great. Excel and word good also. Its a workhorse. Very pleased.

I am a fan of the Dell XPS series of the premium laptops. And this one was as close as it can get to the XPS line at half the price. The build is extremely solid aluminum and so is the performance. Snappy 256gig SSD, fast processor and 1080p screen all work great for being a powerful performing machine. Happy with my purchase.

I like how fast the processor is, the size of the computer- especially how light it is. The touchscreen is also a nice accessory. Overall, satisfied with this computer.

    Really Nice Premium Laptop

In the past I have found Dell products to be so-so and play second fiddle to other manufacturers. Well the tables have turned as I can say that this 2-n-1 screams Apple level premium style and performance. I have a hard time seeing spending extra for a Macbook Air due to Dell offering more storage and a touch screen. The laptop has all the right sexy curves and feels solid yet lightweight in hands. The machine flies with the new I5 though it is only dual core and a "U" version of the chip. There is a I7 model as well but that's likely overkill unless you are doing heavy duty creation work. The "U" version allows the machine to use much power but sip gently on the battery giving a solid 6 hours of use or more between charges. Windows 10 continues to get better and one of my favorite features is that this is Windows Hello ready which means once you set it up. the machine will look for your Iris to securely log you in bypassing having to type in credentials! It even worked well in low light situations. Highly suggest this mighty portable!

I've been using a 17" laptop for over a decade and reached the point where regularly travelling while carrying it was unpleasant. I was worried that I wouldn't have enough screen space on a smaller laptop, among other things, but then I saw this one in the store and fell in love with it. It's small, it's light and it's faster than anything I've ever used before. I'm the queen of keeping multiple browser (and application) windows open and, unlike other laptops I've had, this one doesn't perceptibly slow down no matter how many I have going. Yes, the screen is smaller than I'm used to (as is the text -- at least if I want to be able to see a reasonable number of lines at once) but I don't mind. Honestly, this machine's speed could make up for a lot of things. And I haven't even used the touchscreen yet!

I bought this laptop for travelling and work. It's portable and easy to carry around anywhere at school & travelling. There are other laptop that are much lighter than this but it's pricey and it break easy just the one I had with Lenovo Yoga 3. Another advantage on this laptop aside from the brand is the keyboard. I love the feel and size, it fit exactly with my finger and has soft texture or feel. The height is perfect about 1/2" from the base/table which makes easy to plug in any device and flash drive. Unlike those super thin laptop its hard to plug-in devices or flash drive, you literally have to lift the laptop to use the external USB/HDMI. I bought this laptop at Best Buy on sale for less than $700 plus tax and knowing its Dell Inspiron its a guarantee to last. There you have it, one great laptop.

This Dell has a great build quality, does not feel flimsy like some older Inspirons. Very light weight, nice portability. The fan is quiet, no noticeable noise when CPU is busy. SSD makes Windows 10 a lot more bearable.

I read a lot of reviews about this laptop before I decided to make my purchase and I'm glad I did. I took a chance with an open box item that was geek-squad certified and inspected and I'm completely satisfied. The laptop looked brand new when I received it in the mail. I have not really had a chance to use the laptop too much because I am currently on break from school but it has been working great so far. For the price, you get a great light laptop that will power you through college classes. I have not tried any games yet but I imagine I will only be installing less demanding games for some casual gaming. If you look at the specs, you can tell right about that this laptop is not really for gaming. If that's what you are looking for, look for a laptop with a dedicated graphics card. With this one, you get some decent power for the price and great battery life.

I picked up this laptop for college. It was a great deal, more than half off, at the time, with student discounts and such. Fast, responsive, thin, light, portable, decent battery life - everything I was looking for in a school/general use computer. The only con was that, for some reason, a few weeks after I got it, I had some issues with the machine not resetting due to an app issue that could not be resolved otherwise. (It froze at 61% for hours.) Luckily, the system was able to recover after a forced restart and completed the reset properly after the second attempt. (Honestly, this is more of a Windows issue than a manufacturer one, but should something happen to the machine where it becomes bricked, I'd be calling Dell for reimbursement.)

I purchased this laptop for my daughter who is in her 2nd year of law school. She had used a Dell laptop for 5 years, undergraduate through 1st year of law school, and it had served it's purpose, but showing it's age. This new laptop features 2-in-1 functionality that allows her to use as a laptop or in tablet mode (her requirement). It is much more powerful and faster than the older technology. Plus it runs Windows 10 with touch mode features. She also does alot with photos. All in all, a good choice for a college student, but I believe with the i5 processor and the 8GB memory that it would also be good for someone that wants to run programs other than basic MS Office. The solid state hard disk size is small at 256GB, so if not used by a student, I would recommend a larger non-solid state hard disk.

This laptop has a lot of power and performance for its price, and especially for its small, slim size. Touch-screen was not a must-have, but the competitive price (especially compared with the Surface) sold me.

This computer has served me pretty well thus far. For a laptop with its specs and form factor, the price I got it at (<500$) was a steal. Also futureproofed with a USB c port which not too many laptops have these days. 2-in-1 wasn't a huge selling point for me but was icing on the cake. Cons: Bezel - it is huge. Way larger than most modern laptops, and Dell's own XPS 13 makes this machine look like a laptop from 2005, albeit for around 2x the price. I also had issues with battery life earlier that were fixed with some tweaks that I found using google. Overall solid laptop for budget conscious, but performance oriented crowd.

I purchased this notebook as a secondary computer for schoolwork, but quickly came to realize how capable and user-friendly the machine is. Coming from a MacBook, I am impressed with how far Windows 10 has come in terms of speed and consistency. The touch panel on this machine is flawless. The lighted keyboard feels great and adds to the experience. The SSD is FAST - this computer cold boots in 16 seconds. Amazing. It's almost instant-on from Standby. Programs open in the blink of an eye and battery life is not sacrificed for performance. The metal casing is also sleek and modern. Overall, a PHENOMENAL deal for the machine and specs you are receiving. Mac and PC users alike will not be disappointed.

I use this laptop on a daily basis. I love the backlight, touch screen and keypad. It works great! Although it does get a little hot sometimes, and the battery life dwindles. Love the 360 flip screen and face recognition software. A must use!
