I bought this to be an "at home" computer, but was skeptical because I'm used to an Ipad. I bought this because I could shift it into tablet mode and also use the touch screen access. This computer has been wonderful- battery is good, memory is great and is so easy to set up and use!

What's not to like about this product? Let me start off by saying that set up right from the box was easy.  All you have to do is plug in the power cord and press the power button.  Dell prompts you with on screen instructions as to how to set up your new computer.  Instructions were simple to follow and should put all users to ease. This was a real snap to set up.  Of course, once you input your WIFI password, the next thing that happens is that Microsoft will download any and all updates that your new computer needs. This is to be expected, as any new computer will have to undergo  updates in order to run it's operating system correctly. The display of this computer was easy to look and was not any better or worse (as far as colors or sharpness) than I've seen before. I personally own 2 other laptops which are made by differing companies and a side by side comparison failed to indicate a clear winner. I have absolutely no issues with it's screen characteristics.  I don't think you will be disappointed either. This computer is fast.  Let me repeat, this Dell product is fast! It has 8GB of RAM and a Hard Drive that boasts 2 Terabytes of space.  You will have the opportunity to load plenty of music, videos, photographs and games on this laptop before you run out of space.  Frankly, I don't think the average user will ever use the space on this computers hard drive. The battery life is fantastic. Enough said.   The speakers are average and adequate for most users, but  if you are looking for that boom-box level of listening satisfaction, a pair of external speakers would be in order.   The keyboard is responsive and has a great feel.  The needed key pressure is just right.  This Dell unit has a keyboard backlight option, i.e. you can either choose to backlight the keys or completely turn it off.  If you've never experienced a backlit keyboard you are in for a real treat, as working in a dark or dimly lit room is now a reality for you.  NICE TOUCH, DELL.    I am not going to get into the specifications of this Dell product, as users usually know what "extras" they need, etc. As all around computer goes, this Dell product is a winner and should not disappoint you in the long run.  Happy Computing.

My wife wanted a new laptop specifically to use for her craft and photo editing projects. She had detailed specs and one of the staff people helped me find the best fit at a reasonable price.

Love this laptop. Loads of HD space super fast speeds with awesome graphics in such a small space. It’s already paying dividends in less than a week of use. Thank you for the low price and high quality product offering.

This is a good computer, however while I understand the reason for no ethernet port, it still is inconvenient and had to buy a $25 adapter. Also, no number key pad! That's super hard to get used to. Otherwise it works well so far.

With the new 8th gen i5 this comp is fast and lets me run multiple apps at once. 2tb hd so I can save all my gopro videos and pictures. May install SSD to give it a turbo boost. Windows 10 is smooth. The tablet mode is a cool feature too. The speakers are loud but located on the bottom so it gets slightly muffled but overall sounds crisp and has good details. Perfect size for my needs, can have on a desk or my lap comfortably. Backlit keyboard is nice. Picture detail is amazing, gopro pics are HD. Good battery life so far. Not a lot of useless apps or programs like some computers I read reviews of which is nice, macafee and webroot security protection are nice but only go for 6 months I belive. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

This laptop was very easy to set up. It smoothly runs all of my programs, and the battery life is perfect for my needs. The touchscreen eliminates the need for an additional tablet product.

I purchased the Dell Inspiron after my other laptop cracked open. The other one was just a hard plastic casing and this Dell one is more metal all around=sturdier than my old one. The key pad and touch pad both work well. This is my 1st touch screen computer, but I am happy so far. I use this mostly for work as I am an Educator and it seems to do the job nicely! When I got it I also purchased Windows Office for life to be downloaded onto it.

This computer was the lowest price on Best Buy so it was a great find. Also, the computer so far works very well. It’s fast, light, and a steal for the price. I highly recommend it.

Once I deleted all the Dell and Mcafee programs that came on the computer and bog it down, it now is really fast. It has plenty of storage and is very reliable so far to.

I have two Dell touch screen computers - one personal and one work. I miss the number pad on the newest one for work, but was able to get a plug in number pad that works great.

Good with the HDD Great with the SSD

I got the 2tb harddrive version of this computer with an i5 chip and 8 gigs of ram. It was an open box deal, and I got it knowing I would switch out the HDD for an SSD. Once I did so, it was like a whole new computer, much more responsive in all operations. The i5 chip is more than enough for most people, and the 8 gigs ram is OK and upgradeable to 32 gigs. 16 gigs will eventually be enough for me for a while, but many many people would be fine with the 8 gigs. It's personal. I would warn anyone who has had an ssd and is thinking of buying the hdd version that the 5400 rpm hard drive is pokey and holds the entire machine up. I'm sure switching it out for a 256GB SSD voided the warranty, but for me it was worth it. Overall, the computer is well made and fun to use. The screen is dimmer than many, and needs to be run at around 70% - for me, less in dim light, more in daylight outside, of course. As always I found the default color balance too warm and calibrated it to my liking, but that is my standard practice with any monitor. I like my black and white photos to look neutral on screen. I'd recommend it, then, with an SSD installed, or to anyone who feels comfortable installing one. I put in a Samsung EVO 860. I got the computer because the Surface pro 4 was too small and with a 6th generation i5 and 4 gigs of ram, too slow for my needs.

This PC was bought as an office computer, it has a very nice feel to it, all metal, sleek and somewhat light. The processor is very fast for what office work you need it for. Not a gaming PC by any means but it will play some low level game.
