Beautiful screen and very fast, BUT I have only had this computer for 3 weeks and have gotten the blue screen of death and auto shut down multiple times already. Online diagnosis - no help at all. Customer support - forget it. That free service agreement doesn't cover this - but, I can spend $99 more to get help. Wish I never met Dell.

Most of the time works great however sometimes it will take a long time to turn on or will have a glitchy moment, it was an open box but was advertised to be in excellent condition and fixed by geek squad with whatever was initially wrong with it. Works fine for what I need it for

Do not buy this. Turned it on booted it up, it said critical error and reboot. I returned it got another one exact same thought it was just that one. Booted it up Touchpad had bad response, it overheated. Had a critical error. I rebooted and got past critical error. It worked ok for a few months with only a couple of critical errors and overheating. Then on October it crashed. I called Dell they had me ship it to them. Got it back with another critical error. Called again had touchpad, motherboard, and hard drive replaced through 3 Dell tech visits. Got a replacement from Dell turned it on and replacement booted up then came up with critical error. Purchased a different computer. I am out $1,400. No resolve!

I have put a review before and here it is again. I believe that Best Buy sensors reviews and that my last one wasn't put up due to me blasting the last 6 Inspiron 7000's that I had. I am going to continue to put reviews every single day and document when I do it and find out why my reviews are not going up. My issues with the past 6 Inspirons have been specific to two or three issues that kept reoccurring.
To start off the Inspiron 7000, 15.6 inch 1 TB has been a mistake to buy six times over. The first time that I had gotten the device I was introduced was an open box looking at the specs I was pretty impressed. But with the first one there were issues with the tracking pad and the notes from the geek squad inspection of the device stated otherwise that it wasn’t a tracking pad issue it was others. So I returned it the next day to let them know what was going on with it then they finally set it as defective but that is because it has for the past couple of months been through 3 different customers with issues and they were just not doing their jobs to get it out of the systems.
The second one they had I had gotten was another open box thinking that maybe the issue wasn’t going to be the same as the second one. Well I got the second laptop and it also had issues with setting up my email account on it along with a bad tracking pad. The third one that I had gotten was a brand new one thinking that forget open boxes maybe geek squad wasn’t doing their job and removing these broken laptops. So I bought a brand new one for the third device thinking that if I just get it brand new and paying the normal price would not have issues with it. On the third laptop I am trying to turn it on and do everything to keep this one, well everything‘s running great but the screen completely turns off and doesn’t turn back on. At this time I am completely utterly frustrated and I bring it back and replace it with another device.
This time it was another open box thinking that it wouldn’t have the same issues as the others and finding out that it was from a completely different store from Best Buy and that it was not the same one that I had just returned I choose to get a fourth one and at this time I’m so spoiled on the specs that I’m not wanting to let it go. But lo and behold the fourth one had issues with the screen itself where it would not turn bright or dim so that one had issues with that along with the tracking pad.
The next one is the fifth one, another brand new device I’m thinking to myself this is the last one I’m not gonna do it anymore but I go and get the new device turning it on and everything, running all the programs and everything‘s working and then when the email is getting set up right with no trackpad issues and then all of a sudden I’m trying to find out why when I plug in my phone the C Drive port does not detect any devices when connecting it into the device. I am also wondering why it is that the cord is difficult putting it into the port, frustrating as all get out I just said that I’m just gonna get my money back and not deal with it anymore.
But a few days later given that I am in college and I need a computer I attempt again for one last time and I get a brand new one but at this time what Best Buy does for all my frustration is from the $1700 with taxes of a brand new laptop they let me replace it with a new one for only around $1400 dollars almost a $300 difference because of all the issues. Well at that time I take it home and what happens is a couple days go by the first day I was thinking hey email is not connecting I’ll just give it a couple days and I have another 14 days and what happens is is that it finally corrects itself after a couple days but this time I have windows 11 on it and not windows 10 and the sixth laptop that I had had tracking pad issues so bad that when you touched the pointer on anything it would keep selecting it over and over and over again.
It kept having issues and selecting and moving crazily all over the screen so changing the sensitivity in settings didn’t help at all and I was trying to figure out what to do with it not even the geek squad couldn’t even help me. So given my review on the device I think I can say with a surety that it is a "lemon line" product with issues with the tracking pad and also connecting to email accounts when trying to link your accounts with it. So do not buy the device at all.

Hello BewareB4Buying,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your valued feedback. We sincerely apologize for your experience. This is certainly not what we like to hear from our loyal customers. Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl. 2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs. 3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab. 4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad. 5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option). 6. Change the options as preferred. 7. Touch or click Save. 8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility. 9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window. 10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.

The stores service was poor. They did not realize they had the product and i Made 2 trips. However, it is a open box and missing the pen, but it came at a significant discount for (open-box-$800 off), spec wise, an impressive machine. Will update in the future.

Hello Lizzy,
We are happy to hear that our onsite team was able to provide you support. In the future, you can resolve most common issues by running the suite of tools found within the 'SupportAssist' application that came pre-installed with your PC. This will not only download and install the latest firmware for a smoother experience but also diagnose your system for any errors.

John,
Thanks for your review and we're sorry that you're having issues with your system freezing. We'd recommend the following steps to diagnose the freezes:
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA. 2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below: a) Start the computer. b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.) c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter. d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access. e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing. 3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI.

So incredibly disappointed with this purchase. It kept randomly freezing up and the screen would go all fuzzy. Then one day it just stopped turning on. I called Dell and they replaced the motherboard under warranty. Then, 3 days later I get the blue screen that so many others are posting about in reviews. Now, Dell is making me pay to have someone call me to try and fix it. What a waste of $1500. I wish I could just return it and purchase somethin different!

I liked the Computer, but since day 1 I have been having 2 problems that Dell assistance is not helping me with. I will probably have to change or go to best buy assistance:
1) After a day using the computer, using sleep mode and getting the computer back on, it shuts down unexpectedly. It is really annoying and has cause me to lose my work several times. Last time Stop code: SYSTEM_SERVIE_EXCEPTION. What failed: igdkmdnd64.sys.
2) The touchpad is horrible, it doesn't work smoothly, sometimes it stops working for more than 5 seconds. The computer is only useful with a Bluetooth mouse.
It shouldn't be happing with a computer this value.

Overall a good choice

It's a good laptop for work, recreation, and non-intensive gaming.
The Intel Iris Xe MAX chip can underperform compared to the base Iris, especially when doing gaming it can be a 10-30 FPS difference with the current drivers. The good thing is you can choose which you want to use.
My only complaint is the battery life might last 3 hours on performance mode and maybe 6 on battery saving. Besides that the flip screen and stylus are great and storage is plentiful. This laptop handles multiple programs open at once well (might get the fans going but I don't mind). The display is nice and crisp and I like that it actually has USB ports on the side unlike most high-end HP laptops now.
Overall this is a great choice for work and school, just make sure to bring your charger!
