My dad has been plagued (his words) for years with big tower cases from PCs I have built him, and now that he's pushing 80, he asked plaintively if I could provide him with a new Windows rig for Father's Day that would not take up too much space on his desk, and he could easily lift and carry. I immediately went looking for a small form factor OptiPlex. I received the rig, popped it open, removed the prepackaged RAM and hard drives, and replaced it with 16GB of high speed DDR3 RAM I had lying around and two SATA SSD hard drives. Not much for hobbyists, you'd say, and you'd be right, it's underpowered, but not for my dad's purposes, just watching YouTube videos and banging around the Web. With the stripped-down loadout of software I provided him, it boots quickly, loads webpages quickly, and watches videos without a hitch. Not one complaint and the whole endeavor cost me less than $400.

This is my 3rd refurbished desktop PC that I have purchased from Best Buy. The 1st one lasted me several years and would have probably lasted me longer had I not forgotten to purchase a Malwarebytes. The 2nd, upon hooking it up I had issues with the apps loading and then within a couple of weeks the hard drive fan failed. Returned it and spoke with a couple of employees and got some good info for my next purchase. My 3rd purchase, this Dell Optiplex, so far is running great! Had I been more knowledgeable, I would have gotten one that had ports for SD cards, etc. Overall, I am pleased at this time. Best Buy employees are very eager to help. I will continue to use Best Buy as my go-to place to shop and get advice. I should also note that during this time of the pandemic, I was very pleased to see the steps taken to protect the customers and themselves. Thank you for keeping everyone safe and happy seeing that more people were turning to their electronic needs with having to stay at home and practice social distancing. Thank You Best Buy!!! I rated a 4 because their is always room for improvement somewhere.

I like everything about it. Easy to set up--small enough to fit on my desk and much speedier than my old one

This was purchased for basic web browsing and related "low demand" activities and it is perfect for that. With the addition of more RAM it would be a capable computer for more demanding tasks as well.

Bought refurbished. So far so good. Surprised that switching to 10 wasn't that much different from 7. Redoing all the passwords takes a while. New key board and mouse. Good Deal. Packaged nice.

Great looking computer for the price. Happy to see it came with a RS232 COM port.

In need of computer quickly and this didn't disappoint. Working great.

Would not turn on. Pressed the reset button in the back. As long as it was depressed I could hear fans running but as soon as I released it the button everything stopped.

When the technician went to install it, it was not working.
