    The tab for you

The Tablet specs speak for themselves. It's a well-crafted machine with a classy look and feel. I use this device casually. Pros: The keyboard is the absolute best I could find that came with any tabs. The tab snaps into the keyboard dock magnetically and so smoothly. Other tabs require a bit of persuasion. Solid State Drive. So fastttttt. Remarkable battery life of almost 9 hours!! And it's swappable. Fantastic screen resolution! mini USB port (I use my phone cable to charge it), mini HDMI port, mini SD card reader!!! NFC reader. Headset jack for listening in noisy places. Compact light weight design. Fits on my lap and doesn't wobble around. Good processor with good speed for casual use. Not the best, but good. One of the fastest atom processors! Wide enough bezels to be held in one hand. Cons: (minor infractions) No kickstand for the tab although the back of the keyboard/case folds into one on the back, so it wobbles a little when the screen is tapped. The keyboard/case doesn't cover it all the way on the back. Verdict: This thing is bossing the competition right now. I know the surface is a beast, but it is like a desktop version. I was the number one antagonist of tabs....until this thing came along. Absolute freedom to move around and get work done almost anywhere. Love it!

I had trouble with this tablet ever since I got it. It did not even pair with the keyboard that came with it. I had to buy a wireless keyboard. It had problem with turning on the power. It had problem streaming the videos from the youtube. It finally totally broke down, it was charging at all. It was diagnosis of motherboard failure. This is less than a nine month since I purchased it. I did not used for the first three month, and I seldom use it there after either. It is not worth a penny. I lost all my documents that I saved in it.

I am an American living in Africa. I was returning to the US for a visit and was planning to buy a microsoft surface but was a bit reluctant because of the price was a bit of stretch for my budget after adding the keyboard and stylus. After online research, I came across the Dell Venue 11 Pro. It had some great recommendations and seemed like a good option. I was able to get it on sale in May for $499. That made it worth the risk. Indeed, it has been a very good computer for the money. I immediately put in Windows 10 Preview and now Windows 10 and it has run well. I added a 128gb flash and configured it as part of the hard drive so now I have enough memory. Without that the 64gb would fill up quite quickly, especially here in Africa where the internet is not dependable for cloud storage. The battery life has been very good. The only trade off is the keyboard is not great. At first the keys would stick slightly but that has seemed to work itself out with use. I wish the keyboard was a bit more rigid and backlit but that is minor. I am a web developer so I am on the computer all day every day for the last 6 months without trouble. At the regular price of $750 it is a computer to consider but in the $500 range, I would not hesitate at all.

    Great performance and value

The recent introduction of the Surface 3 caused me to look at it and some alternatives as an upgrade to the Atom Z3700 series Windows tablets I already had. The Surface 3 and recent tablets and 2in1 mobile devices that use the latest Intel Atom or Intel core M processors had fan less designs, 8 hour + battery life and were light enough to be options. Until Best Buy put the Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140 on sale the core M tablets were out of my price range, now the Best Buy Dell 7140 bundle with Keyboard is the lease expensive option, and the one I picked. Dell Venue 11 Pro Model 7140 is heavier than the Surface 3 but lighter than a Surface Pro 1,2 or 3, I am seeing about a 10 hour battery life so far and the performance is almost at the original Surface Pro level. The 7140 is shipped with 64 bit Windows 8.1 one significant result is that the free disk space is about 20 GB, a 32 bit Windows 8.1 with Bing tablet with a 64GB main drive could be expected to have 30GB or more free. The free disk space is a function of the larger size of 64 bit Windows 8.1 executable. The Surface 3 64GB model has larger amount of free disk space. The Dell 7140 bundle with the included Dell Slim Tablet Keyboard needs a firm and flat surface for the keyboard to function reliably. On a non-flat or yielding surface like your lap the keyboard will often disconnect, on a desk or table I haven't had any problems at all. The Keyboard has an elegantly designed kick stand built into it that works nicely although it only allows 2 tablet angles and not as ridged as the Surface 3. Closing the keyboard will put the tablet into Sleep and opening it wakes it if it was asleep, folding the keyboard around to the back of the tablet, disables the keyboard and entry is by the touch screen or stylus. The keyboard also serves as a protective cover for the screen and to a limited amount the back of the tablet but I wished it offered some protection to the edges and corners. Tablet construction looks quite good but not as solid as the total metal case of a Surface or Surface Pro device. I am impressed with the performance, quality construction, thoughtful design and value the 7140 represents and won't hesitate to recommend it to my friends.

I am pleased with the performance, fit and feel of this convertible. The included keyboard exceeds my expectations. It magnetically snaps in place and is very secure. The keys are laid out well to allow normal typing. The scratch pad is responsive. In tablet mode it is easy to operate. The Broadwell core M processor is fast and is very frugal on power draw. My only negative comment is that the 128Gb model wasn't available.

    Fast, Powerful, Windows Tablet

Fast, Powerful, Windows Tablet. No problem upgrading to Win10. MUCH more powerful than tablets or laptops of similar price (4 hour sale of $375). Nice to have true SSD, though it would be better to have 128MB. True Windows OS is a benefit. The attached keyboard is a plus, but sometimes it stops working; disconnect/reconnect solves the problem.

I was looking for something that would I could be productive on, but still use as a consumption device. The dell met all my needs. The core m is powerful enough for photoshop and light video editing, but has the battery life to binge on netflix. I would have preferred a 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio but for the price I'm not complaining. Just as good as a Surface with an i3 or m3, but for the half the cost.

Great tablet that comes with the type keyboard. The keys are a little stiff and takes some getting used to but for the price paid for the combo, it is a good value. Also able to upgrade to Window 10 without any issues. Light and portable with a 1080p screen. Would recommend for travelers. Fanless system. Good for general productivity and media consumption.

This is more like a laptop than a tablet. Very fast and enough ram. You can buy all kinds of accessories for it too. The first thing you should do though is go to the Dell support application and download new bios. It improves the battery usage and takes care of a wifi problem I was having. Also get yourself a 16gb flash drive and create a recovery drive. You can then free up 16gb disk partition. With only 64gb total you need this. I didn't expect it but this just may replace both my desktop and laptop with the dock that you can buy. The included keyboard is sweet adding little weight/bulk to the package when on the go

    Perfect Tablet

I choose this tablet instead of Microsoft Surface 3. It has a good design, professional design. It has a new processor, which is faster than the chipset that Surface 3 uses. It comes with a slim keyboard, so I can save couples bucks for accessories. This tablet also has 4gb Ram, HDMI port, USB 3.0, and Sd Card if you want to expand the storage ( up to 64gb or 128gb ). Display is very clear and good touch screen as well. I have no issues with this tablet, and I believe that I have made a right decision. I'm so satisfied with this Dell product. I would highly recommend this to everyone who looks for.

    Solid unit with poor keyboard

So far, so good. I purchased this tablet+keyboard combo at Best Buy about 2 weeks ago. The screen is nice and the performance and quality seem good, but the keyboard is really poor. I had read some glowing reviews, and I have to say that the keyboard is spoiling it for me. On the plus side, the unit can drive my USB-powered monitor (15-inch HP U160). This was a pleasant surprise. So I can have two screens, even on battery (though I haven't tried this for long -- I wouldn't expect the battery life to be good.) It's surprising how much a Bluetooth mouse costs, vs a traditional wireless mouse with a dongle. It would be nice to have more than one USB port. I have a suggestion for Best Buy: On your website, give both the availability of units to BUY and of units to DEMO. I bought this without trying the keyboard because I couldn't find one to demo. Every store with available units to sell had no demo keyboard. Later, I found a complete demo unit with keyboard at a BB that showed no units available to SELL! One of the strengths of BB is that I can go in and try before I buy... usually. Overall -- not bad ... I wish they had a "Yes, with caveats" choice on the "Would you recommend this to a friend" question. :-)

Tablet is bulky and the keyboard is terrible

I picked this up during the 4 hour sale today for just under $400. It's a nice tablet with plenty of features which include a USB 3.0 port and MicroSD slot. The screen is nice and I had no issues at all with the tablet side of things other than it's quite bulky and not really a one handed device like other tablets can be. That being said, the included keyboard (which let's face it that's why we all bought this instead of a Surface) is very much like the Surface touch keyboard, but worse. You have to press really hard to get the keys to register and if you're not constantly thinking about that and you start typing fast you will miss most letters. The keys don't just click in the middle either, they click all around. I like that it's included and covers the front and back of the device, but buying this because it comes with a keyboard and the Surface does not is a bad decision. I may just use an external slim logitech keyboard and mouse and remove the included keyboard completely. I'll have to use a portable tablet stand too. If I'm just not happy with that setup I'll return it. Please try out the keyboard at a local store before buying.

I also got this from 4 hours deal that slashing price to half. Shipping was very fast by UPS and arrived at my place 1 day earlier than expected. I did not really use it much as all I did so far with it was updating OS to Windows 10 and making recovery disk. so far all the process went through without issue. Did not find charging issue too as fellow reviewers mentioned. Also my keyboard is working very well too. it's not great as Surface keyboard of coarse but for free it's good enough for light use. I guess I'm lucky to have well functioning one. I will need to use it little longer to give more comments but first impression is very good. Can't beat the price.

Got this on sale and so far it's a great combo with the keyboard cover. Does everything I have tried on it even a bit STEAM gaming and surprisingly works very well on most games a few years old and even newer games when you lower the res. Overall a great combo for the price

Like the idea of the combo tablet/laptop, but it can be kind of buggy at times. As an example sometimes the lock screen won't allow you to type the password to get in and requires a reboot. To be fair that could be Windows and not the tablet. The stand is not great, especially on non-flat surfaces. The keyboard is decent, but again on non-flat surfaces it can be difficult to use. All other times it is great. Not a bad deal on sale, but probably wouldn't pay full price for it.

So initially this was Prefect for my needs, and the price point is solid. Only issue is when issues happen. Then it get ugly. I've purchased Dell's computers directly and have had fairly good customer service. This Venue has an issue with waking from sleep and using the keyboard as it's designed. The keyboard is usable but i wish they had designed the stand better. When the keyboard is folder under it's suppose to disable but this does not work, additionally when the unit falls asleep it will not awake until it is restarted. Meaning you have to hold the power down to turn it off and then again to turn it back on. So, after dealing with this about a month I called Dell and they said I was not the registered owner? then they said Bestbuy was not an authorized retailer of dell products. Well I will not be buying Dell again! I could go into it further but the "just" of it is if O purchased an apple Ipad they would know when the warranty started and when it ends and simply cover there product. The hassle is not worth it, so save yourself the time and money. I've also had the Surface 2 and 3 and experienced Microsofts service on those and they were stellar. On the Pro 3 i broke the screen with no warranty so had to pay the 300 replacement but they sent me a new unit (refurb) and issue was resolved. If it had been an issue like the Dell is having I have no doubt they would have resolved it much better and much easier.
