This Dell XPS 13 is one awesome laptop with some features that are bigger than it's size would indicate. The biggest feature that stands out to me would be the track pad. It has been my experience that a windows PC track pad sucks. Some are better than others but none have ever impressed me as the one on this Dell. The haptic feedback on this close to Mac Book levels of performance. In fact the entire area below the keyboard is made of Gorilla Glass with no indicator of where the track pad starts or ends. This does require some getting used to but after about half a day I don't even think of it. The keyboard itself feels good and is pleasant to type on. Another big surprise to me was just how good the speakers sound on this machine considering how small it is. Very full sound that sounds like it comes from a larger laptop. While not a vibrant as an OLED screen it's no slouch. Very sharp and rather colorful. Battery life is outstanding. I find myself making it through a full day of typical usage with charge to spare. Added bonus is offers no required huge brick to lug around It charges via USB-C. And it's not a very heavy machine. It feels very light. Performance is great. Using Intel Core Ultra 7 is great that it offer full compatibility with x-64 architecture. Once Microsoft releases the Windows 11 update enabling AI features to x-64 machines I expect good things. Overall this is a most excellent laptop.

Having used several Dell laptops, I was interested in receiving this device and trying it out with the new AI Copilot+. This computer may be small but it packs a punch with not only a fast processor, but sleek graphics and a nice set up of keyboard and an impressive glass track pad which is different than any other laptop I have seen. The design of this device is sleek and its easy to pack into a backpack or bag and pull out to use quickly. The i7 Intel processor helps to take this small computer to the next level, for the daily tasks of office work I used it for, complete with Windows and I added MS Office to it and it easily was able to function between several windows and maneuver at whatever I threw at it. I did try a bit of gaming on this computer, however this is most likely not the best use for it as its more a personal computer. The 13.4 inch display was nice and small enough to not take up too much room on my table, but large enough, it was easy to view anything, even movies and other graphics. Battery seemed great, was able to use this device for a day or two without charging. In all this is a nice little ultra portable laptop, price is a bit high, however, its a Dell which speak volumes, since Dell provides quality machines.

Configuration: • Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 processor 256V Series 2 (12MB Cache, 8 cores, up to 4.8 GHz) • Intel® Arc™ graphics • 13.4", Non-Touch, FHD+ 1920x1200, 30-120Hz, Anti-Glare, 500 nit, Eyesafe®, InfinityEdge • 16GB, LPDDR5X, 8533MT/s, integrated • 13.4 FHD+ Display with Webcam • 512 GB, M.2, PCIe NVMe, SSD First Impressions: Right out of the box, this laptop exudes engineering. From the CNC aluminum to the choice of Gorilla Glass 3, the design effort put into this product is evident. Battery life is positioned as “up to 26 hours” when streaming, and 3.1x the graphics performance of the prior generation graphics solution, and 3.6x “better AI performance” (which honestly does not have a lot of detail behind it other than it was an internal comparison). The screen is nice and bright, and I’d say packs an optical punch in terms of color depth and brightness. Dell packed a lot into this small package, which measures 11.62” wide by 7.84” depth by 0.6” height, and weighs in at 2.7 pounds. That’s a lot of capability in a relatively small, light laptop! Setup: Setup was uneventful, from power-on to Windows setup. Zero issues. Performance: Excellent system performance. Fast processor and SSD make for a fast boot and a no-delay user experience when using the laptop. CoPilot… I have not delved into performance of this just yet. Final Thoughts: Dell must have had the shoehorn going in overdrive to pack of all of these features into this small, light form-factor. It’s a phenomenal buy in my opinion, and I recommend it if you are in the market for a relatively small laptop with excellent performance.

So this little bad boy is pretty good. I really like how light it is. I don't use it for gaming but I like that I can use it with Xbox Game Pass and a controller. Love the color of the unit. Did I say I like how light it is?😉 I let my 82 year old father give it a whirl for a few days. He tends to complain about contrast and brightness on pretty much everything because his eyes are shot. Now the interesting thig about this is that we both agreed that this unit has a great display. Only required a little bit of tweaking to get it comfortable for both of us. I bring this to work every now and then and watch videos and catch up on some homework whenever I have a free moment and on my break. The occasional video chat is pretty good because the camera works very well. Speaking of which, I like the windows hello feature that has been around for a while now but I never had a laptop that had a camera that I could take advantage of using my face to unlock my computer. Having 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage is just right for this. It isn't my primary machine at the moment but I can see this being in the rotation on the regular basis from here on out. I plan on traveling a bit soon and I am pretty sure this will be coming with me. Keyboard feels goods and the only complaint that I have about the unit is that it would have been nice if the track pad was clearly marked as to where the edges are. Small thing but it annoys me non the less. Not much to say about the CPU (Intel Core Ultra 7) performance other than it handled everything I could throw at it. I have no problem recommending this unit. Haven't had it long enough to speak on its durability. Hoping I won't have any issues down the road.

The Dell XPS 13 Copilot+PC with Intel Core Ultra 7 is a great small, lightweight yet powerful laptop that is perfect for work, school or at home. It's not a major leap in small laptop performance as much as it is a refinement. It has great specs for such a small computer. The 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 1900x1200 resolution screen that is bright and has excellent color. And of course, the real star of the show the new Intel Core Ultra 7 chip. This new chip gives the laptop excellent performance for its category. Intel has changed the naming of their chips so it would be best to look at this as being the replacement to the i7 series from before. One of the benefits to the Ultra 7 chip is power usage. Lets face it, laptops are not known for the best battery life. So the use of a more power friendly chip goes a long way on giving this laptop the ability to last an entire day at work or school. I consider these as the best uses for this laptop. It is in no way a gaming laptop (outside of some light, non-demanding gaming). The form factor is what will draw most to the XPS 13. The small size and portability is great for being able to bring it along without much effort. There are other Windows laptops out there that fit the size & weight category. However, few if any can match this for its processing power and battery life. The keys have a nice feel without being to "clicky". The one thing that may take some getting used to is the track pad. Its there, even if you can't see it. And by that I mean there is no defined edges for the track pad. It's integrated into the frame/palm rest. It allows for a sleek look. At first it feels strange not having visibly defined area. But in practice, you get used to it quickly. Personally I like it. As I've already stated, this is an awesome work or school laptop providing more performance than you might expect. If you are looking for a gaming laptop or more of an entertainment laptop you might want to look elsewhere. But keeping in mind what it is, I can highly recommend it as a laptop that should provide for years of use.

This little powerhouse deserves compliments for a number of reasons. First I want to express just how nice this laptop looks and feels. Everything you can see, touch, feel, and experience is awesome. It feels premium and well built. The built in hidden mouse pad is so cool and modern, the screen is bright and the clarity is high end. Folded or open, it just has a big presence even thoughit is a small laptop. The packaging was great as well. As for user experience, the startup was on par for setup of a new computer, but maybe a little faster than most. The best part of being small but powerful is that my daughter tucks it away in her school bag and when she pulls it out, it is up and running basically instantly which jeps her impatience at bay. You can read through the specs, but I'll say it streams while having numerous tabs open and I javen't noticed any performance delays whatsoever for everyday use and abuse. We are extremely happy with this product in many ways. Great for travel as well due to size.

The Dell XPS 13 has been a great addition to our office. I got it and set it up for my dad to use for his business. It has worked really well for the week that we have had it. My dad mostly uses his work computers for checking email and scrolling social media and it has worked great for both of those needs. Pros: this computer is super super easy to set up. It did need to update out of the box, which took overnight, but nothing we couldn't handle. it did have some issues connecting to the internet, but I did a quick restart and the function was back up and running with ease! the computer is fast and very very lightweight. the charger is a USBC and there is another USBC on the other side Cons: the function buttons at the top o the keyboard are a little bit finicky. sometimes it takes a couple taps to get them to light up. but once you get them lite up they work great. I would highly recommend this laptop if you are looking for a light, small travel computer to take with you on trip.

This is the new Dell XPS 13 with intels newest Lunar Lake CPU’s. This is actually the base model and it’s nice for what you pay for to be honest. Although I do wish maybe QHD as the base resolution but at 13 inches it’s fine. Specs: Intel core ultra 7 256V 16GB LPDDR5X memory 512GB SSD Intel Arc 140v integrated graphics 13.4 inch FHD+ IPS screen Intels newest lunar lake cpus promise better life and better integrated graphics along with a better NPU for AI. I do say after using it for a few days it succeeded. The battery life I’ve been getting is comparable to my MacBook and the graphics can play most games if you lower the resolution and fidelity. This also have 47 TOPS which is even better than what the Qualcomm chips have when Microsoft first announced copilot plus. I will say it works with the AI features fine. My only thoughts initially with the new design is the touch pad and the keyboard. I noticed I didn’t have many issues with finding the sweet spot of the touch pad and the key travel with the keyboard is much better than I anticipated.

Mainline high end Dell portable workstation

The XPS (extreme Performance Series) line represent the higher end of Dell consumer laptops, and for good reason. In my mind, the XPS series always presented solid performance with sleek form factors. In addition, the XPS series tend to get the cutting edge tech in their screens and/or processors. The newest XPS 13 Copilot is physically identical to the recent XPS 13 - razor thin bezels, and despite the inherently small chassis of a 13 in laptop, the edge to edge keys maximize key space to make the keyboard feel larger. Battery life is phenomenal as expected from the XPS line, but even better with the optimized ARM processor - battery life averaged over 17 and a half hours. The trackpad blends seamlessly with the wrist rest, which looks amazing, but the trackpad unfortunately isn’t as responsive as I would have liked. Copilot is the keynote feature that sets this iteration of the XPS 13 apart. Copilot provides suggestions for shortcuts, workflows, and even searching for items. It’s integrated seamlessly into the Windows OS and doesn’t feel like it was tacked on haphazardly. That being said, I feel like companies are still trying to figure out the best way to use AI and we aren’t near optimization yet. My other gripe other than the finnicky trackpad is the haptic function row. I hated this feature in MacBooks and I was extremely happy when apple went back to physical function keys, and unfortunately Dell followed suit in the wrong direction. Sure it looks sleek as the entire row is just flat and unbroken when the computer is off/asleep, but I feel like this was an example of form over function. Other than those, I can live with the smaller option of inputs given the smaller chassis

I was very excited to set this laptop up to try out the new AI features and performance anticipated from this processor and though I was happy with it there is a fundamental problem with the touch pad I cannot overlook. As for the good things, the laptop is thin, light, and I absolutely love the thin bezel around the display. It looks amazing and feels premium. The screen/display is bright, sharp and the colors seem to be accurate. Dell generally always delivers a good display in laptops, and this is no exception. The keyboard is great, where the keys are large and backlit, and I think the touch F keys are pretty nice too. I found I was able to type without any issues and the touch/feel of the keys is really just right. Performance wise, this laptop is great, it's fast and handles multi-tasking great. The AI Copilot features that Windows has now are pretty cool and honestly having the Copilot key is great though there is a learning curve with knowing how to use it and in what scenarios you benefit from using it. Best advice I can give here is to try it and see what you can do, it's pretty useful in many cases! There's plenty of ram and it does run casual games just fine with the integrated graphics so after working you have a machine that is capable of some light gaming which is a leap ahead of laptops years ago that didn't have dedicated graphics cards. For sound, the speakers on this laptop are pretty good and sound good even at high volume with decent mids and bass. I'd say that it's definitely comparable to most tablets in terms of how it sounds. Now for the part that is honestly a deal breaker for me on this laptop, the touchpad. I really love the glass design that's seamless but it's simply WAYYYYYY too sensitive to clicking. Even just moving/gliding your finger over it, you'll find yourself accidentally clicking even with the slightest pressure - constantly. I tried to adapt to using it but just found myself left clicking constantly as I moved the mouse around and getting frustrated with using the touchpad. If you use a mouse obviously it's not a big deal but I tend to use the touchpad a lot when not at a desk. For me, a key feature of a laptop is the touch pad and with one that doesn't work well I could not recommend it. Perhaps I have just an issue with the one that I have, but it feels like when using it that it's not a manufacturing issue and more of a design issue. Either way, there is absolutely no way I can recommend or give it a good rating without an essential part of the laptop working well and I'd have to say that Dell really didn't do good testing on the touchpad design.
