    Best Windows 8 Ultrabook Design

I think this is a very good design providing a great way to swivel between tablet mode and Ultrabook mode. The overall feel is great too. I love the look, the texture of the overall shell and the feel of this keypad. And I really like Windows 8. It is easy to go from the traditional Windows desktop into the Metro Apps mode. I find I am often in the traditional Windows desktop which is great. You quickly realize that if you want to see stuff that was under the Start button you just swipe the screen and get a menu with the same items. No biggie. And the convenience of just reaching out to the screen and activating things vs. moving a cursor is very compelling. I can't imagine buying a new Mac or Windows 7 Ultrabook and being stuck with just a keyboard and mouse to navigate. Kids love the touchscreen and immediately started playing games on it.

I LOVE this ultrabook! It's fun to use, easy to use,and very convenient. I love that it can be a laptop one minute, and turn into a fully functional tablet with just a flip of the screen. It's a little pricey, and sometimes the screen won't rotate like it should and freezes up, but I think it's a great product. I think it's worth the price we paid for it. Great job Dell!

It too early to review- it has more abilities than I have. I can already see the potentials once I get use to it. The battery life stated seems great. I hope it's true.

It's been a good remote unit. I just wish it had come in Windows 7. It's one of the better units I've had. And I've personally carried more than 12 laptops in the last couple of decades in my small law practice.

    Network issues

I love my computer except for two things: I am always getting disconnected from my network, and it auto-dims. Since day one my computer has been disconnecting me from my network and I am required to restart my computer to get it to reconnect. Sometimes it happens as often as 3 times in an hour. After installing drivers and re-installing the OS, I'm having to send it in so that Dell can look at it. It is less than a month old. Other than the internet issues, I really love this computer; and I can even put up with the auto-dim. So beware of the connectivity issues!

Overall the computer is great, maybe a little high priced but I knew the cost when I bought it for my wife. My wife is getting to grips with Windows 8 and so far she is happy with the computer and loves the fact it can turn into a tab. Unit is VERY quiet even when the small fan kicks in to cool it. Personally I think it is a great little computer and if the wife likes it also, well that makes for a quiet life for me also! ;)

I bought this laptop so I can take it with me. It is light and portable and somewhat easy to use. I had a hard time with Windows 8, but that is not the laptops fault. The touch pad is very touch and more than once I shrunk my screen to where I couldn't read it. I now use a mouse and like the laptop a lot more. Though it is not always easy to use a mouse if you are not a table or somewhere for the mouse to rest.

after looking at several convertible laptops, we purchased the Dell - XPS Convertible Ultrabook , It's great because when you flip in, the keyboard is not on the underside, and you don't accidently type, like many of the other convertible. It's cool, it clicks when you flip it, its just not as sleek but that's the tradeoff.

This is for personal use and it takes a little getting used to the Windows 8. It would be nice if there was a screen protector available for this product. I also have an IPAD and acces to screen protectors is a snap, they are available everywhere. Couldn't even find a screen protector at the Dell sight.. Can't access the Dell Store from the desktop . When you click on the update button it just says there is an update available and stops at that point.

Best device I have ever used.

I have been in the IT field for a long time. I manage businesses, set up technology ecosystems, and use tech to simplify lives. I greatly appreciate all apple products, and personally use Android phones (Galaxy Note 2, bought from Best Buy :). Let me begin my review by says this device is the most advanced and amazing piece of technology I have ever used. And I am now obsessed with Windows 8. I had no idea it was so incredible. This device will change your life. School, Work, Home, Travel, Movies, Design, Music, Games, Entertainment. Pros: Quality construction, flip screen, tablet mode, laptop mode, reverse screen mode which is the best, Windows 8, Carbon fiber looks awesome, ultra fast, super light, 4-5 hours of continuous use and a small charger that is easy to take, back-lit keyboard, keyboard design is pro (Fastest keyboard I have ever typed on), SSD, 1080p gorilla glass. Cons. For people with bad eyes, the resolution is very fine, and desktop mode will be pretty small. Personally I like it, it gives me more privacy and the clarity is incredible. However, you will find yourself using the "desktop" Windows 7 mode less and less and less. Windows 8 on touch is awesome, and every app and program is easy to read and can be scaled instantly with your fingers. So the dense resolution is actually a huge bonus. Synced in with facebook and gmail and the functionality is great. Internet Explorer browser is amazing! This is the best touchscreen browser out there by far. Use it and you will know why. Facebook is awesome on this thing. Acceleromter is in the keyboard, fyi for orientation. Also has an auto lock button. Wirelessly put the screen image on your TV. Browse netflix on your XPS, pick the movie, and watch everything happen on the TV. Best way to use it is to flip the keyboard around backwards and use it tilted with the touchscreen in front. AMAZING. Multitask games, music, documents, news, stocks, facebook faster than you ever have before, and way cooler. Get into bios to change F function keys to primary for volume and brightness and such so you don't have to hit the Fn key. I can go on and on. Get it, your life will improve after you do. I bought the i5 version. I recommend doing the same if Best Buy has it in their store. Dell sells an i7 version. And the hinge is solid and its FUN to flip the screen. I use it for everything. Price is not an issue. Time is $$. And there is no value for enjoying life more, but it does that too. I also recommend the Surface Pro and getting some touch all in ones for your house. Set up skydrive, make sure you have Office 2013. There is a skydrive(its like dropbox and google drive combined) app and onenote app on andriod, probably iOS too. Oh and it does cool things with your xbox. Xbox music is awesome as well. Like spotify but way better UI. Im starting the think Windows phone might be a good option now. Have fun!
