I found to believe only the really expensive tablet/ laptops work the best. This one works good in tablet mode but sucks in laptop mode. The screen will jump to a different app or different screen just by a slightly moving your mouse, cant figure how to take that function off & its the most frustrating thing in the world. Also you have to press quit hard on the buttons on the keyboard to get some of them to work. There's a couple more problems like this exist

We brought this 128G disk drive computer home to find that only 60G was available for use! I understand using 20G or so for the operating system, etc., but using another 40G for "whatever" is unacceptable. If you have a student that has any sizeable music library, do NOT get this computer. Wait until they come out with a 256G disk drive solid state. Get instead a hybrid computer with the operating system loaded in the solid state drive.

The Dell XPS 12 was a great purchase until I started seeing latent images on the screen. Some research into the issue turned up many websites discussing the problem, including Dell's own user forums. No one has had the display successfully fixed, so I returned the device to Best Buy before my return period was over. Too bad, it was a nice little computer. But, when you spend that much money on it, you expect it to be flawless.

Keyboard Performance Kills Otherwise Great Machine

I don't know if I received a "lemon" machine or if this is a design flaw but the SPACE bar on this keyboard stinks. I am a touch typist. I can type in the neighborhood of 90 words a minute with few mistakes on a conventional keyboard. On this lap top the "hot spot" on the space bar is very small. If you don't hit the space bar in just the right spot you will not get a space. I can type a sentence with 10 words and 6 won't have spaces. This is incredibly aggravating and makes me want to throw the thing in the garbage. When I am using at my desk I plug in an external keyboard. When I am on the road I just have to HYPER-FOCUS and go out of my way to make sure I make contact with the sweet spot on the space bar. I would not recommend this computer to anyone based on this one issue. I hate it...I mean I really, really hate it. It is that bad. If I could take it back I would.

    TouchScreen hung up frequently

I put a lot of work into setting this up with apps and files I needed. So when the problems started I was motivated in getting it to work. The biggest problem was the hang-ups on the touchscreen. The screen would intermittently hang. Thinking that the problem might be driver related I went to the Dell site. Strangely every driver there was older than the one on the system. Eventually I got fed up with the touch screen just hanging and returned it for the surface pro. I repeated the installs onto the Pro with no issues. The touch screen on the Pro is still delightful to work with.
