Super fast, has everything I need
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I must say that this is the first new PC I’ve had in about 7 years. Going straight from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I avoided all the upgrade to 10 tricks Microsoft tried to force through. And never took that jump. I was quite happy with Windows 7. With that being said, this PC of course, came with Windows 10 pre-installed. While, not overly excited to jump to 10, I figured it was time. This review isn’t supposed to be about Windows 10 but since it’s part of the PC, I’m not going to have much choice making comments about some of my likes and dislikes. This is a major upgrade to me and this PC is smoking fast!! I had always been a gamer and this is the first “box” PC I’ve had since I got a Packard Bell 486 about 25 years ago. Each PC I’ve had since then was hand built. I was one of “those guys” that had to have the latest and greatest. I spent more money on upgrades of RAM, video cards and CPUs than I care to remember. Now my games, aside from one, all reside on my PS4 and XBOX One. So this PC wasn’t picked up with games in mind. First, it has integrated graphics. That used to make me cringe just thinking about it. Not the case with this one. The one game I still play on PC, World War II Online, is actually quite playable. I was getting 50-60 fps with graphics on medium. I was surprisingly pleased with that. I’ll probably still pick up a video card for this at some point but the integrated graphics of this are very acceptable. I’m more into photo editing now than gaming so the next test was with Photoshop and Lightroom and it’s quite capable of multitasking between the 2 with plenty of other windows open. It zips right along with no bogging down with the 16 gigs of ram – upgradable to 64 but I see no need for any near future upgrades to the ram. Initial set up went fairly smooth. The only real issue I had was probably my own fault but still worth mentioning. My email pasword was automatically saved in my old PC and I had typed it wrong (forgetting what it was) into the new Windows Mail app and it never told me the password was incorrect. It just never downloaded any mail. Took about 30 minutes of playing around and a password reset to actually figure out that was what the problem was. Not a PC issue, it was an app issue but you’d think they’d give you a “password incorrect” message. After building my own PCs for years, going into Device Manager and looking for that yellow ! was a normal activity and was quite pleased to see no yellow ! in this one. Not that there should have been anything there but I still checked that. Hard to untrain myself. Never been a fan of built in software and usually uninstall that stuff from any PC that came with it. This came with a very minimum of stuff to get rid of. McAfee for some reason got stuck at 76% updating on the first night so I left it on overnight and it was still at 76% when I woke up. Didn’t want it anyway so I just uninstalled it. Not sure what that was all about but it’s gone now. Spent the last couple weeks getting used to Windows 10 before writing this review and I honestly have nothing negative to say about Windows 10 at all. It’s different for sure. But everything I do so far is doable on this aside from a USB microscope I have doesn’t seem to have WIN10 drivers and I just can’t get it to work yet. Both my printers installed seemlessly. The wireless internet detected my router just fine and I was online instantly. It boots up unbelievably fast even after loading all my stuff. In literally 30 seconds after pressing the power button, I’m logged in and online. The PC looks cool and modern. The 4 USB slots in the front are awesome to have. The only, and I mean only thing I don’t really like and it’s kind of nitpicky I know, is the CD drive is a laptop CD drive rather than a normal PC drive with a real tray. This just pops out a little bit and you have to lock the disc into the center and push it closed. Maybe that’s the cool thing nowadays but I don’t like it and will probably swap it out with a different one at some point. Maybe I’ll pop a Bluray drive in down the road. Overall, I give this PC 5 stars. No real issues on setup or use that I didn’t create myself. Very pleased Thanks!!

Super fast for startup and general computing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Consume Reports gave it top ratings, and I concur. It was easy to get set up, although transferring all our files was laborious. There's got to be an easier way. Since day one, startup has been super fast, and running apps has been as well. Its footprint is not too large, so it fits very well on my desk. Plenty of ports for all sorts of things. So, I haven't managed to run out of places to plug in my stuff.

Fast and powerful desktop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The last desktop I purchased was around fall 2008 and from Best Buy. It recently slowed down and no longer works so purchased this desktop. It works great and is so fast with the applications I want to use. Very happy with this model. The desktop has also gone on sale twice and I was able to get a price match both times. Thanks Best Buy!

Probably a good machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything I've seen about this machine is it's a good deal. The problem is that when we trucked it up to my son's college and turned it on, there's no HDMI output, so we really don't know how good a machine it is. Still, if that gets turned on, it seems to be a good machine for the price (with student discount).

Great Power Computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced an I3 all in one with this i7 desktop. All in one ok for home use but not only ran slower and slower, monitor developed issues. This new PC checks all the boxes (exception gaming graphics and a camera for Skype), but allows options in the future!!!

Great PC, but peripherals are lacking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PC is powerful and responsive, but I found the DVD drive to be slower than a Dell external DVD drive that I had purchased previously. It was unbelievable to me that the desktop came with a mouse and keyboard with wires! That was disappointing: I plugged in my old Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.
