Best Toaster Oven Ever....
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I just received the De'Longhi Livenza Oven a few days ago to test out and I've been using it so much that I almost forgot to write this review. De’Longhi is becoming a new brand to me as I currently own other products which they make. And the design quality is top notch. The oven is very spacious (a little bigger than my current microwave) so you will need to make sure that you have enough counter space. I got this just in time as it seems my microwave is about to bite the dust. I must preface this by saying that I am by no no means a "Top Chef," or really even love cooking a whole lot. But after using this excellent oven over the last few days, it's kinda made me want to cook a little more. This little oven preheats very fast and lets you know that its Preheating by flashing it on the display. And unlike other toaster ovens that I've used in the past that tend to get very hot, the outside of the oven doesn’t get very hot. My favorite thing about the door, is the front bar that you use to open and close it with. I love that the bar is big and sits almost horizontal with the counter when you open it. Other toaster ovens I’ve used in the past doors open all the way, causing difficulty and potential burns when grabbing for the door handle when closing. Below the digital display are the easy to use control dials (time, temp, and function). With this oven you can do a number of things from toasting, broiling/grilling, to baking or defrosting, and of course cooking a pizza. So far, during my testings I’ve mainly used this oven for small things like the first night I threw in some chicken tenders to see how well they turned out. And they came out awesome and didn't take as long to cook as the would in my big oven. I've also used it the last couple of mornings to toast my bagels before work. This oven holds the heat very well by way of the double wall glass door. It also heats evenly across my food, instead of having areas that are really hot and the center being cold. Accessories that are included in the package are wire rack, pizza pan, and crumb tray. I can see this oven getting used a lot over the next couple of weeks for the holidays. This oven is perfect when you don’t want to wait for the your big stove/oven to heat up and especially if you’re only cooking for just a few people. I would definitely recommend this oven to anyone looking for a nice spacious toaster oven, that in my opinion can cook almost as much as a regular oven can. One thing I will say is that upon initial use, its best to let it heat up which may cause a little smoke, which De’Longhi says is normal and then let it cool down completely before actually cooking or heating anything up in it. But this is definitely worth the buy!

Fantastic Countertop Oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DeLonghi Livenza convection oven is a great countertop appliance. It's a bit on the large size, but it replaced our el-cheapo toaster oven and dedicated toaster (since the el-cheapo did not toast well). If you're making a small meal, this oven lets you skip the big kitchen oven. The convection setting works fast and great. I found that when using the convection fan, reduce heat by 25 degrees from the non-convection setting to compensate for the extra airflow. I tried several baking options including, convection, non-convection and pizza. In all cases, our meals were more even than from our big kitchen oven (non-convection). The pizza function in particular is impressive. It has a mode for frozen or fresh pizza, along with options for size and crust thickness. If you’re baking fresh pizza, the oven chimes when it's time to add fresh toppings. The toast function is slower than using a dedicated toaster, but again, the result is far more even toasting. For example, toaster waffles ran through a 5.5 minute cycle before the edges would start getting crispy. The ovens runs quietly (including the convection fan), and its chime is sufficient without being annoying. The instructions recommend 4" of surround space, so the actual footprint for use is slightly larger than the dimensions. Cleaning is simple as the pans, rack and crumb tray pull out easily. The pans and rack can be thrown in the dishwasher as well. A couple of cons, however. First, the baking temperature is in 5 degree increments up to 380 degrees; then it switches to 10 degree increments up to 450 degrees (the top temp). If you need something more precise for temps above 380, you will not get it. The oven does make one exception and lets you set 425 since that's a common recipe instruction. The second downside is the settings are reset after every cycle. For example, the default toast option is 4 slices for 4 minutes. It does not remember your last toast settings. Overall this is a high quality appliance and a great substitute to using a standard kitchen oven for smaller meals.

Awesome oven - De’Longhi Livenza Oven EO241150
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best countertop convection oven we have used. It is 0.8 cu ft capacity which is amble for 90% of our baking and cooking needs. The ove n is very easy on the eye with premium looking body. It does not take up a lot of counter space and is perfect for everyday cooking and heating requirements. The screen is perfectly backlit and easy to read. The three knobs have the perfect movement and you do not feel like its too fast or slow while using them to select options or setting the temperature. Also the outside of the oven barely gets warm when using it which is quite amazing. The top handle is out of the eyeview and does not block anything. There is an internal light as well to keep an eye on the product that is being cooked or baked. The rack can be moved in 4 various positions based on what you are baking. There are 8 presets for Toast, bake, convection, broil/grill, defrost, pizza, cookies and Keep warm. These are plenty enough for the daily tasks that we threw at the oven and pleasantly pleased with the outcome. So far we have used it to make toast, pizza, cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, cake, muffins , cookies and the outcomes have been batter than using the huge oven. We are very happy with this oven and look forward to using it everyday.

An excellent kitchen addition
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's fair to say that over the years, I've gone through more than my fair share of $50-$75 toaster ovens. This is not your mother's toaster oven. The DeLonghi does everything your cheap toaster does (better of course) but also brings a new dimension to the countertop appliance that's been around forever. What makes all the difference to me is the addition of a preheating that doesn't turn the coils on full blast to burn the outside of your food while the interior is ice cold. That, and the convection feature insure you get your dish properly heated. If you're upgrading from a conventional toaster oven you'll truly appreciate the convenience this brings. I always hated turning on the oven in the midst of summer to get a small item heated - wait for the oven to heat, then have to deal with the heat venting off it for the next couple of hours. The DeLonghi heats instantly, and the exterior actually remains pretty cool - nicely insulated. I've had good experiences with DeLonghi products, I had one of their higher end coffee/espresso machines for 5 years when I saw a good deal on a newer model. I passed my original down to my niece two years ago, and it's still going great without a hiccup. Hopefully I'll have a similar experience with this model.

Great Once You Do a Proper Burn-In
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DeLonghi Livenza convection oven is a stylish, powerful (1800 watts), and versatile countertop electric oven. It is a feature rich convection oven that has eight different preset programs: toast, bake, convection, broil/grill, defrost, pizza, cookies, and warm. The oven temperature dial can be set to a maximum of 450 degrees F. It measures 19.3” in length x 11.8” in height x 17.3” in depth so make sure you have kitchen countertop space that can accommodate the oven. What's in the Box -electric oven -one wire rack -bake pan -pizza pan that can accommodate up to a 12” pizza -crumb tray -Get Started & Owner's Instruction booklets, and warranty sheet Here are a summary of some of the pros: +Has a large backlit blue LCD screen that is easy to read even in direct sunlight. +Three large dials that turn smoothly with clear labeling telling you what each dial does. +Four different positions to adjust the height of the wire rack and baking pan. +When in grilling/broiling mode, the baking pan doubles as a drip pan to collect fats and oils. +Preheats the oven. You get the full cook time at the desired temperature. For example, if you set the temperature for 350 degrees F for a duration of 10 minutes, the oven will not start the 10 minute count down until it has reached the desired 350 degrees F. +Interior cavity walls have non-stick, scratch resistant surface coatings for easy clean-up. There aren't that many cons. Perhaps two that come to mind: -The manual states that it is necessary to burn-in the empty oven upon first use by running the oven for 30 minutes on the convection setting at a temperature of 450oF to remove the protective substances on the heating element surfaces. It also states that there will be minimal smell. Well, I followed the instructions, but it still smelled after the initial 30 minute burn-in. I had to then set it for another 30 minutes. So, realistically, you should allow at least a 1-hour to 1hr 15min. burn-in time. Additionally, make sure you open all your windows, turn on the fans, and if at all possible, wait outdoors during the burn-in period. I could not tolerate the smell and had to simply step outdoors for the duration of the burn-in. -One other con is that the 15-watt oven light bulb always remains on while cooking. Why must it be on all the time? This is a waste of more electricity and the bulb will need to be replaced more often. I would have liked to have a switch to manually turn it on or off to periodically check how the cooking is progressing. Other than this, once I completed the burn-in, I found the oven to be a great cooking workhorse to have in the kitchen. It cooks my food in about three quarters of the time it takes to cook in my regular oven, and the food comes out crispier and more flavorful. In baking mode, the food comes out very uniformly. However, in convection mode, I did notice that my hash browns were a little drier and crispier the closer they were to the convection fan. Clean up is a cinch using soap and water. In summary, the DeLonghi Livenza convection oven is a very good kitchen appliance that will make the cooking process quicker and easier. It is a bit pricey, but I would not hesitate to recommend it because it is so versatile. I had to take off one star for the longer than expected burn-in time.

Fast and reliable cooking!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The De'Longhi Livenza Convection Oven EO241150m uses convection technology with a combination of a lateral fan and three heating elements to circulate hot air to cook food. The advantages of convection heating include being faster and more even cooking than conventional ovens. It bakes, broils, roasts and toasts. It comes with multiple marked rack adjustments along with task specific racks and pans including, a crumb tray, wire rack, bake pan and a pizza pan. It works with fresh and frozen items with the ability to set the desired doneness. The instructions, both printed and on-line are easy to follow. The stainless-steel interior is easy to clean. The exterior is handsome and well made. I like the large and informative digital display. The first 15 minutes may produce an odor created by the coating on the heating elements as it bakes off (as stated in the manual). I ran my oven for 15 minutes with no food in it and dissipated the smell. I really like the speed and uniformity of cooking.

Countertop Convection Oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DeLonghi brand of small appliances continues to impress me, not only with the high standard of quality inherent in their design, but also with how well they perform in the kitchen. This DeLonghi Convection Oven is no exception. The appliance is lovely to look at and is sure to fit in with any kitchen’s decor, that is, if you have room for it on your kitchen counter - the Livenza takes up a sizable amount of space. An understandable yet unfortunate downside, is the heat this convection oven puts out. Even with the Livenza’s advanced thermal insulation and double glass door, you can still feel heat coming off the metal sides, top, and door. You’re going to want to make sure to place the unit away from walls or anything you don’t want exposed to a high level of heat. Plus, it takes quite a while for the oven to fully cool down. Be mindful of this, especially if you have small children in the home. It is definitely important to pay attention to the safeguard precautions in the included instruction booklet. Another ‘Con’ worth mentioning is the “unfinished” appearance of the underside of the unit. Be careful how you take hold of the appliance, as there are exposed screws holding the plastic base to the metal oven itself. Also, be careful opening and closing the oven door so as not to damage the glass or scratch the shiny handle. Using this DeLonghi Livenza Convection Oven was a delight. Again, it pays to read through the detailed instruction booklet which explains in easy-to-follow directions exactly what this oven can do. The digital display and function knobs were simple to figure out and made setting the controls for each mode of cooking a pretty straightforward procedure. Although this appliance can do all the usual things like toast bread, bake cookies/pizza, and broil/grill meat, it is with the power of convection where this oven really shines. The Livenza Convection Oven utilizes circulated hot air to cook faster and more evenly than a regular oven can. With all the features this DeLonghi Livenza Convection Oven has, it truly is like having a “full-sized” convection oven on your countertop.

Beautiful Countertop Oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This beautiful looking oven is very easy to use. It heats up quickly and cooks evenly. It is fairly quiet while in operation too. I now use this instead of my full size oven for 80% of my baking needs. It is a fantastic machine!

Works great!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am happy I got this. I used it during the holidays as an extra mini oven and it didn’t disappoint. I was able to warm up pies, rolls and small plates of leftovers without having to use my oven. This definitely came in handy with all the different meals that needed the oven at different temps for different times. I am using it still after the holidays to not have to use my oven for smaller things. The size is perfect for me. If you don’t have a lot of counter space I probably would not get this cause it will take up space, but if you have a kitchen cart or would like to move it when not in use than it’s a great addition to your kitchen. It’s a bit heavy. Easy to operate.

Energy saver and more!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Those that know me, know that I love cooking. My least favorite thing to do though, is use my regular oven if I'm just preparing a meal for less than 4 people. It seemed like such a waste to pre-heat the oven - and heat up the whole kitchen If I just wanted to cook a meal for two. This is where the De’Longhi Livenza Oven comes in! No longer do i feel like I'm heating the entire kitchen with my giant oven. And this appliance works like a DREAM! First and foremost - the big selling point for me was how well this unit is insulated. No heat escapes what-so-ever due to the insulated construction as well as the double pane glass door (yes you read that right, DOUBLE pane!). It is also a pretty decent size as well at 24 liters/0.8 cubic feet. It's big enough to cook a pizza or a whole chicken - but it really does take up minimal counter space when you think about it (Dimensions L/W/H: 19 x 17.5 x 12 inches). So unless you live in a shoe - this will fit in just about everyone's kitchen. How well does it cook? With my pizza I decided to live dangerously and do what I usually NEVER do. That is, use an appliance preset. Yes, there is a pizza preset (along with a COOOOOOKIE! preset). How did it turn out? Even BETTER than my conventional oven! The pizza crust was crispy (but not too much!) and the cheese melted perfectly and uniformly throughout the pie. My toppings also cooked perfectly without burning, or the dreaded "dried out pepperoni". So, a win for the preset and for De'Longhi (and me! It was one of the better pizza's I've made!). Cleanup was also a breeze (this was another area I was concerned about). The entire interior is non-stick. A little bit of cheese bubbled up - and this was easily wiped off with a paper towel. The "crumb tray" is also non-stick. I love when appliances are this easy to clean! Something else I found rather spiffy was the LCD readout. It is very clear and easy to read. SO much better than the old analog/dial/lack of LCD units of yesteryear. I am very impressed with this appliance, and I have no doubts that you will be too! It is a no-brainer if you are in the market for a convection oven - get the best. And this De'Longhi is truly the best IMO!

Now We Are Cooking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The De Longhi Convection Oven brings convenience back to my kitchen. The design of this oven is brilliant with its streamlined shape and metal surface. In my opinion, this oven compliments any contemporary kitchen. And what’s really nice is the backlit digital readout of the settings. Two of my favorite things to bake in my kitchen are pizza and sweets like cookies and brownies. There’s nothing more frustrating than grabbing a frozen pizza from the store on the way home from work only have to preheat the large oven and have to wait for the temperature to reach 400 degrees. The preheat wait time is cut in half. What’s better is that the De Longhi has the preset settings for pizza and others which are spot on. The pizza didn’t burn and it wasn’t undercooked with the crust. I don’t know how many times I’ve been in the middle of prepping food and have forgotten to turn on the oven which throws off the timing of presenting the dinner with the other items. This oven allows TWO racks to be used at the same time which was something that my other oven didn’t allow. I can bake two trays of cookies at once. The other great feature that I’m using often is the “warm” option for those times where I’m unable to sit down and eat right away but I also don’t want my food to get cold, the oven keeps the food at a steady temp which removes the hassle of microwaving the dinner. I also have to mention that this oven is quiet compared to other counter ovens. It’s one of those convenient details that you appreciate when you notice that it’s there. What I also enjoy about this oven is that the surface of it doesn’t get overly hot like my previous counter oven did. I’ve only scratched the surface to what this oven has to offer but what I really enjoy most of all is that cooking got a little more easier for me and that goes a long way.

Awesome
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This really does everything. The only way it can't replace your full sized oven is it's size. The available features are very thought out and the size is great what you are getting. I basically thought of this as a toaster oven, but it's way better and worth every penny. There are 3 knobs, one to change the function, one for the time and slices, and one for the temp. I like when toasting that you have the option to choose how dark you want your bread plus how many slices you are putting in. It adjusts the time for you based on those. When baking, which we did for some mozzarella sticks, the convection bake worked awesome and the suggested time on the carton was all it needed. Sometimes toaster ovens can over or under cook compared to regular ovens. But I now see that this is more than a toaster oven. The build quality is great. I like the knobs and the buttons. There's a function on one that you can push and it will show you what the internal temperature is. I thought that it would be useless, I admit, but when it was preheating (again, this is an oven, not toaster oven) I pushed it and saw that it was at 388 on it's way to 400 and put the food in. Speaking of which, it preheats fast. There's a stop and start button, which is great. So instead of twisting a knob to stop the timer and/or heat you push one button. I would highly recommend this over.

Great looks and Great performance!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Renting a house with an older stove can be a pain, especially when the oven heats unevenly and leaks heat from the sides of the door. In comes the DeLonghi Livenza convection oven to the rescue. The DeLonghi fits conveniently on my countertop and can be used for just about anything that I would put into my normal household oven. The preprogrammed options are a breeze to use and everything I’ve cooked so-far has come out wonderfully. I do recommend reading the instruction manual thoroughly as this is not your typical countertop oven and it’s good to familiarize yourself with the controls and warnings before getting started. Pros: Easy to use controls - The knobs are mostly self-explanatory and once you’ve gotten use to it, it’s very easy to use. Even cooking with great results- I’ve cooked a couple frozen pizzas, a homemade fresh pizza, sugar cookies and some roasted vegetables. Everything came out evenly cooked and delicious! Efficiency - This oven heats up quickly and you actually don’t have to preheat it for frozen pizzas, which is a win! The double pane glass on the door helps to hold the heat in without leakage. The sides of the oven and top do get hot but only to the touch. One-touch Temperature reading - Just press the button and it tells you what the current temperature is inside the oven. Easy to clean - The stainless steel exterior wipes down easily and the trays/rack are dishwasher safe. Other Notes: The instruction booklet says not to use the oven for more than 60 continuous minutes within a 2 hour period of time. Which is sort of confusing when the DeLonghi recipe app has a recipe for twice baked potatoes that calls for a 90 minute total cooking time. There is a digital clock, which is great, however it has to be reset whenever the unit is unplugged. Not such a bad thing as I would normally leave this plugged in all the time except that there is a sticker on the back of the unit and a warning in the booklet that says not to leave plugged in when not in use. So I guess I have to reset the clock every time I want to use it or just leave it plugged in and possibly void the warranty? This model only comes with one wire rack. I was disappointed because having 2 racks means I could cook twice as many cookies or 2 pizzas at one time, etc. There is a note that says you can buy an additional rack however I cannot find this for sale anywhere, not even on the manufacturers website. There are 2 large rubber bumpers on the rear and 2 small bumpers on the side. This is great for pushing it against the wall when not cooking but don’t really serve much purpose while cooking as the instructions say to pull it away from the wall when cooking. Overall this is an excellent oven that I will get a lot of use from. Hopefully they will start selling the accessories for it so that I can get an additional wire rack but even if they don’t it’s still a solid oven with great features that I will recommend to friends.

Compact and efficient oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The entire unit is not much bigger than your standard microwave. It has plenty of room to cook two large pizzas at the same time. The auto set and no pre-heat required is great. Versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love how versatile the De'Longhi oven is. In the short time that we have had it, we have used it for frozen waffles, pizza and to cook a whole chicken. As a result of having the De'Longhi oven we were able to get rid of our toaster, small toaster oven and have hardly touched our big oven. Everything that we have used it for has come out either perfectly toasted or cooked. The seven preset setting are extremely useful and they can be adjusted accordingly. We have yet to try out some of the recipes from their app, but they look very easy and delicious to prepare. Overall, we are very impressed, especially when we used it to cook our whole chicken. The convection does a phenomenal job of cooking the chicken evenly and not dry at all. As I mentioned earlier, we got ready of old appliances after getting this oven, but make sure that you have enough space on your kitchen counter because it does take up a good amount of space. I would highly recommend this oven.

Pleasantly impressed with all of the features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The oven came well-wrapped with form fitting packaging inside a sturdy box. Inside the box were: the oven, the instructions and guides, the wire rack, crumb tray, baking pan, and pizza tray. The Get Started guide is probably all you need at first, but don’t forget to read the full instruction manual for more details. The Get Started guide includes 2 recipes and there are 7 more in the full instruction manual. After unwrapping, I made a plan to test the oven using as many features as I could within the next 24 hours. The oven has several function settings which are: toast, bake, convection, broil/grill, defrost, pizza, cookies, and keep warm. There are 4 tray positions in the oven number 1 through 4 from bottom to top. A summary table in the Get Started guide tells you which tray to use and which position to put the tray on depending on what you are cooking. The first function I tested was the toast function. I put the wire rack on the 2nd tray level, input the number of pieces of toast I was making, and chose the toast color time I wanted. There are 6 levels of toast color, so I chose the third level which turned out just right. You can make up to 6 pieces of toast at once. Next, I tested the Pizza function. I bought a thin crust, 10 inch frozen pizza and put it on the pizza tray. The Get Started guide says to put the pizza tray on the lowest rack in the oven. After choosing the pizza function on the oven, all I had to do was input the pizza diameter, the crust type (using the toast color time dial), and whether the pizza was fresh or frozen. It turned out perfect. The crust was crispy, the toppings were hot, and the cheese was bubbling. I transferred my pizza to a different surface to cut it since I didn’t want scratches on my pizza pan on the very first day, but I could have easily cut it right on the pizza pan. You can cook 2 pizzas at once but it requires an extra pizza pan and an extra wire tray to do so. Next, I tested the Convection function. I tried out the Mediterranean One-Pan Chicken with Lemon and Potatoes recipe from the Get Started guide. I lined the baking tray with foil and placed it on rack 3 in the oven. The convection setting circulates the hot air in the oven to cook faster and more evenly. I pre-heated the oven, then I followed the recipe and it turned out delicious. The next function I tested was the Cookie function. The temperature and heating elements are automatically selected, but you can choose the cooking time you want. You choose whether you are cooking 1 or 2 trays. If cooking one tray of cookies, use the baking pan on rack 2. If cooking 2 trays, you can place foil on the wire rack to use as a second tray and use racks 1 and 3. Half-way through the cooking time, switch the position of the trays. I opted to make 2 separate batches of cookies with one tray each. I placed 8 cookies at 1 Tablespoon each of cookie dough, evenly spaced, on the baking tray and preheated the oven. I set the timer for 12 minutes because the instructions on the cookie dough said to cook 12 to 15 minutes. The oven beeped when it was preheated, then I placed the tray of cookie dough on rack 2. I noticed the cookies looked done at about 9 minutes so I took them out and they were great. Then I remembered that there are conversion charts for convection ovens that you can find on the Internet. The first one I found used an example of 12 minute cookies and the chart said to cook them for 9 minutes. I will print out that chart and use it until I get better at this. I set the second batch for 9 minutes and they came out great. If you aren’t sure about the time, set the time for less than you think it should be, because at the end of the time, the oven goes into a waiting mode for up to 5 minutes. You can either end the cooking or add more time (up to 10 minutes.) During the Bake function, you can change the function setting to Convection and/or Broil/Grill without starting over. Use the baking pan or place your own baking dish on the wire rack. When using the Broil/Grill function, place your food on the wire rack and place the baking pan under it to catch drips. To use the Defrost function, make sure the oven is completely cool before starting. Use either the wire rack or the baking pan. Set the function to defrost and select the desired time. The Keep Warm function will allow you to keep previously cooked food warm. The default setting is 30 minutes. The Keep Warm function can also be used as a slow cooker for up to 6 hours. The crumb tray should be kept below the bottom burner coils and should be hand-washed for cleaning. All of the other trays may be washed in the dishwasher or they could be hand-washed too. I was very happy with the results of the oven. I would probably have never made an entire meal in it if it weren’t for the easy recipes included, but now I will be looking for more recipes to make. I love the fact that you can just put in the type of crust and diameter of the pizza and it cooks it perfectly. I didn’t try the broil/grill feature, the Keep Warm feature, or the Defrost feature yet but every feature I tried worked very well.

Amazing Oven!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I see why this Oven has so many positive reviews. It is truly amazing. I rarely use my Double Wall Oven anymore. This unit cooks fast, and it uses less power. I never placed my Pizza on the rack in my wall oven because I didn't like the cleanup afterwards. I would just place it on a pizza pan. With this oven, I can place the pizza on the rack, because taking the rack out and cleaning it afterwards is easy. The presets for cooking food works as advertised. I used the pizza preset, and it cooked my pizza better than when I used my wall oven. I also didn't have to wait for my oven to preheat to 400 degrees like I've come accustomed to. It instructed me to put the pizza in from the start. I also use it for toast, and broiling hot dogs. I truly enjoy using this oven.

This Convection Oven is a Time Saver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’re impressed with this DeLonghi countertop convection oven. It has been a time saver for us. It preheats 3 times faster than a conventional oven and convection baking shaves about 25% off the cooking time! My family and I used this DeLonghi oven quite a bit over the recent holidays for everything from basic small to medium pizzas and a variety of sandwiches to holiday favorites like all kinds of Christmas cookies, full-size pies, and delicate Hors d’oeuvres. Everything came out great and everyone who used it had good things to say about it. Baking in the DeLonghi oven using the convection setting yields desserts and baked goods that are cooked more evenly, consistent, and in less time than in a conventional oven. For instance, I baked two identical pumpkin pies over the holidays. One pie was baked in the DeLonghi countertop convection oven and the other was baked in a conventional gas range oven. The pie from the DeLonghi convection oven was baked more consistent and even than the pie from the conventional oven. The DeLonghi pie’s crust was baked to perfection and in less time too. Helpful Hint: as with any convection oven you must protect delicate pie fluting with an aluminum foil wrap or the fluting will bake and brown faster the rest of the pie. This oven comes with a small variety of racks and trays. It has a helpful feature you’ll see when you open the oven door...each of the four tray/rack slots is labeled on the left side of the oven with what goes where. Kudos to DeLonghi for thinking of that. We also thought the white text on a blue background made the control display very easy to read. Another feature we liked was the oven temperature can be easily adjusted during the baking process without having to start over. Also, this oven is very quiet even in convection mode. If there’s any other background noise in the house you’ll need to lean over toward the oven to hear it running. There were three very minor things that we thought could be improved. First, we love the elegant brushed stainless steel exterior however, the polished chrome door handle sure shows messy fingerprints. The handle should’ve been a brushed steel finish like the rest of the oven. But not a big issue if you periodically wipe it down as you’re using it. Second, the racks of the oven can very easily be pulled out completely. This has caused a couple of sticky incidents while checking on the baking process. If you accidentally pull out the rack too far the food and rack will drop onto the door. It would be nice if the rack or slides had even a small bump or notch to prevent the rack from accidentally coming out completely while baking. Lastly, three of us (all well educated people) found the timer confusing the first few times we used it. Without benefit of any time units being displayed (e.g. hours, minutes, or seconds) you can end up setting a bagel to toast for 2 hours and 15 minutes instead of the 2 minutes and 15 seconds you thought you were setting. Since only two time units are used in each of the various cooking modes, you never really know whether you’re working with hours and minutes or minutes and seconds. In the software world we call that counterintuitive. Overall, my whole family really likes this DeLonghi Convection Oven and can safely recommend to anyone looking to buy a higher quality countertop convection oven.

Should be in EVERYONE'S kitchen!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say this has virtually replaced my main oven. It is beautiful and well-constructed. It blends right in to modern kitchens with its immaculate stainless steel and sleek design. I couldn't complain too much with this. I look for things to pick apart a product when I review them. The list of wonderful things HEAVILY outweighs my minimal gripes since I can't have only positive things to say for a product. Things to Improve... =PreHeat Glitch - while it's doing so, it flashes "PrE HEaT" in the area above the oven icon that displays the time. While it's heating, I set all the dials for temp, type of cook, and timer. When it's finished preheating, the timer defaults back to 1 hour resulting in me setting the timer again! This is annoying and dangerous if you aren't paying attention! This can all be avoided by setting all the dials before pressing Start so you don't have to reset the timer after preheating. =Dials - The dials do not coincide with the tactile response you would expect. Instead of one click making a change to the indicator, it takes a few "clicks" to move an indicator. It reminds me of an old stereo you have to fully turn to get it to move the volume up one. Not a huge deal, but it will take some getting used to. =Temperature Setting - The temperature setting increases in increments of 10 except for certain common temps like 375 and 425. I would have liked increments of 5 instead of 10 throughout. Things I love! +Easy Cleanup - everything provided as far as trays and pans are non-stick coated. It feels high quality and thick. +Multi Levels - there are 4 positions you can place your rack to ensure proper cooking. +Internal Light - lets you see what is going on through a big glass door. +Cook Times - it cooks faster and more evenly than our previous Cuisinart. You will need to adjust your cook times once you get a feel. +Performance - it performs much like a regular oven and thus it has become our main oven. +Preheats Quickly - the convection setting is the best and preheats in a snap. +Accessories - comes with a high quality pizza pan and cooking tray. +Insulation - it stays relatively save to the touch. It gets warm, but I never worry about getting burned. It has double pane glass in the door too! +Bumpers/Spacers - it has small bumpers along the sides and longer ones on the back. This keeps it away from the wall to ensure proper air flow and avoids melting things (if it got that hot). +Small Footprint - it doesn't take a lot of space on the counter like I thought. It is the perfect balance for capacity and footprint on the counter. +Energy Savings - since this performs so efficiently, it will save you money. The time and energy it takes to heat a full size oven will make you want to use this more. If it fits in there, we use it instead of the big oven. +Display - the display is large and very readable. It also is backlit with a blue light that most modern appliances use. -=The Verdict=- I have nothing to say other than if you are looking for a small oven or are looking for more efficient ways to cook… this is for you. This should be in everyone's kitchen!

When a larger conventional oven just won't do
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Designed in Italy, and made in China. You wouldn't have guessed it was made there though if it wasn't printed on the box. This is the first time i've heard of De' Longhi, and it comes in the form of my first countertop convection oven. I really like it and it can handle just about anything you want to cook in an oven. This is not a toaster oven, but you can easily make toast if you want. While unboxing, it is very organized and there is even an organization table featured right on the lid of the box as to how everything is packed. There are 3 large Styrofoam pieces total in the box. After removing some booklets and several pans, you finally get to remove the oven itself. It is fairly lightweight and is quite a bit smaller than the box it is in, but don't let that fool you. You will need quite a bit of counter top space for this oven. The instructions say a minimum of 4" clearance from a cabinet on left, right and above it. The downside is, it also says a minimum of 8" away from the power outlet, so trying to find the right counter space to put this might be difficult. The back side of the oven is curved out, and there are stoppers in place in the back to keep it away from the wall, although there is no minimum clearance listed for that. The quality of this oven is great. It has a great feel to the door and adjusting knobs. The LCD screen is nice and bright, and easy to read. The pans included are very nice with Teflon coatings and include a pizza pan, a baking pan, a drip pan, and a wire rack. The wire rack is chromed. After plugging in and getting ready to set up, the first thing the booklet has you do is "clean" the oven with a kind of "pre-bake" which involves setting the oven to convection cook, 450 Degrees for 30 minutes to remove protective chemicals off of the heating elements. I will warn that the smell was quite horrible during this time and they warn you of the possibility of smell / smoke during this clean which is normal. You will want to try and have some windows open. The book says smell / smoke should last around 15 minutes but the smell lasted the entire half hour, and made the room quite nauseating. After that initial clean though there hasn't been a smell from it besides the food I was cooking. It has 2 heating elements, one on top and one on bottom. It has a ton of space inside for cooking and heats up pretty quick. Took only 5 minutes for it to preheat to 450 degrees. A nice part of all of this besides the oven, is the options it gives you for easy cooking (which are all highlighted in the booklet) and also a free De' Longhi mobile app with recipes to use in correlation with the appliance you are using. Overall this oven does it's job, does it well, and looks and feels good doing it. Besides the initial cleaning smell and the countertop requirements, this is a great oven and have been using it more than my regular conventional oven. I have even been using it instead of the microwave as well. It cooks thoroughly, evenly and the food comes out tasting great every time.
