    Excellent receiver, apps need improvement

Overall, this is one outstanding receiver. My Pioneer speakers sound amazing while I'm playing a movie or playing music. The Audyssey setup was easy use. My only issue is the apps don't always connect with my receiver (HEOS, AVR Remote). I've downloaded the apps on my phone (Nexus 6p), and iPad but I still have connection issues. The receiver has no problem connecting to my wi-fi, just connecting to my devices. The Denon receiver don't come with manual, you have to download it online.

    Overall, a Nice Unit

Sound quality is great and power is adequate for most home settings. I don't like the auto-sound level feature as it didn't recognize my subwoofers and set the rear speakers too loud. I will have to manually tweak things, which negates the point of an auto setup feature. The Yamaha unit that this unit replaces had many weird synthesis sound settings and this unit is more straight forward. I hope to get many years of service out of it!

I'm really impressed with Denon. If you're looking for an decent mid level receiver without breaking the bank, look no further. I really like this receiver. It really made my 7.1 in-ceiling surround sound system at home truly feel its a surround sound. Lots of power. The 4k pass through looks really nice on my TV. Setup was really easy and simple. This is a replacement of my old Pioneer Elite which I had for 8 years. Good value for your money.

I use the receiver to power speakers in my game and weight rooms. The dual zone works perfect and I love the simplicity of Spotify connect. The receiver drives my speakers with perfect clarity. I would definitely recommend this product!

The receiver itself is very good quality and connects easily to your smart home devices. However it's the staying connected part that is tricky with this one. It works fine for a week or two with Alexa and then just stops working again. Works great with Wi-Fi and is a much better option than Bluetooth. Also puts out a lot of power and runs my whole home stereo flawlessly. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars because it can be temperamental sometimes and also has somewhat of a delay with turning on with the TV. Also there are so many different ways to tweak and tune this receiver gets a little overwhelming sometimes. However Tech support is also very helpful when needed. All in all it's a solid receiver and I am glad I bought it.

We really love this receiver. It was very easy setup. It automatically lets you know which movies are 4K and Dolby Atlas. It has a dual zone. And you can control everything from the app on your phone!

This av receiver is quite intuitive for setting up and calibrating your surround sound speakers. Love the Dolby Atmos feature. I use this with my Xbox one x and it works flawlessly! The overall build and sound is top notch! Highly recommend! The Best Buy sales team were highly knowledgeable and helpful in making this a great investment into my home theater!

Bought due to upgrading my TV to a 4K TV and my previous receiver was not compatible. I was brand loyal to Yamaha but decided to take a chance on a different brand. So glad I did. The sound is crisper and has the right amount of bass to it! The watts were identical and used the same speakers but the Denon sounded so much better! I find the user interface is easier than Yamaha and the setup is more thorough than Yamaha. Great receiver and don't regret switching one bit!

Found this as an open box item and couldn’t be happier with the price - almost $200 off sticker. Had been looking to purchase a new receiver to replace my outdated Denon (probably 10 years old). This was extremely easy to set up and wow does it make a difference in the picture quality of my 4K TV. Plays nicely with Amazon and Google so I can use it to play through the Helios app, although it’s usually easier to stream through the Apple TV.

This receiver is a great choice for someone who wants complete mobile control over their set. It is also super easy to setup even for multiple zones like outdoor speakers. I have also used several receivers that used a microphone calibration, but I always needed to tweak it. But this Denon receiver set a good balance. Overall I am very pleased with it and the HEOS functionality is very convenient.

I updated my old Denon to this one because of the streaming capabilities. This out performs my few year old $1500 Denon receiver in every category. Very easy set up, great menu configuration, and it lets other remotes control it if you choose. My resolution on my TV got instantly better, and I keep the audio lower (numerically) because it performs and sounds so amazing.

I absolutely love this receiver so far. I have it paired with a Bose Acoustimass 5.1 10 Series V and it sounds amazing. I love that I have the ability to upgrade to a 7.2 if I'd like. Also, very cool to have the Heos technology and being able to airplay from any of my apple devices to the receiver.

I purchased this receiver on 03/02 and it took about two weeks to get the sound just right. The speaker levels and tone controls are adjustable for each input CBL/SAT,DVD,GAME etc. The settings on your previous receiver may not be good on this one. The cons are the owners manual has to be viewed or downloaded from the website. CAUTION If you are using 4 or 6 ohm speakers you must set the receiver for that, the default setting is for 8 ohms or more. The way to set that is in the owners manual not in the quick start guide. Once everything is set up the sound is great.

Overall good sound quality and ease of use. I was surprised at how low power the amp was however. Driving a set of surround floor speakers takes pretty much everything it can give at reasonable movie volumes. If you have a large room you may need something with more power.

I’ve had it for about a year, it’s fast and responsive, easy to operate, and I love the Bluetooth airplay features and ability to connect with wireless headphones. It also runs cool, unlike my old Onkyo which was ran very hot. I’m loving it so far, haven’t had a chance to try out the atmos on it yet...

Replaced a low end Onkyo that blew out shortly after the one year warranty. HEOS is a great feature, the on screen control menus are great. The remote IOS app is full featured, and easy to use. Most importantly, the sound is amazing. Can’t wait to add a pair of Atmos speakers, which is the main reason for the purchase.

Reciever works great. Great sound and easy to use. Was easy to hook up to the internet and to Alexa. We love the surround sound and 2 zone feature. Can mix and match what you listen to without any problem. I would recommend Denon to anyone looking for a good inexpensive unit for their home.
