I replaced my old Sony 7.1 Receiver that I paid over $800.00 for with this Denon 2600h Receiver. The sound that's generated by this receiver makes it seems like you are actually at the movies. Please note that I am using klipsch speakers...2 front speakers, center speaker. sub-woofer, and 2 rear speakers. My family loves the sound quality of this Denon Receiver. The set up is fairly easy with the onscreen menus. I would recommend this Denon Receiver if you are looking for a good quality receiver at a decent price. I would also recommend using banana plugs to make the speaker installation a breeze. The Bluetooth feature is amazing for Amazon Music, - Heos... This is one of my best purchases in the last 5 years from Best Buy.

Good receiver, setup process with included microphone was easy, nice WiFi and internet radio options. 4K picture is very good and 7.2 surround is seamless. Recognizes my 4K Xfinity cable box. Make sure to use HDMI cables rated for 4K audio/video and hook up to the TVs ACC port. I recommend banana clips because of the limited space on the back of the receiver (see pictures).

I love the functionality of this receiver. It was easy to do tuning of the room, and has wonderful processing options for inputs. I like DTS Nueral:X to render normal LR stuff like tv shows to near 5.1. Menus are quick. It's passthrough is a nice feature to let my chromecast always play to my TV when I don't need speakers. Troubles: I wish the remote had a dim backlight to it, that would help see it it the dark. My play pause features don't pass through to the chromecast like a Sony one did. Similarly, it doesn't automatically turn on when it detects a sound from a source like Chromecast. I have to turn it on, then it sometimes doesn't handshake well so it will not request Dolby Digital +. Another item is that the auto off feature only works for non moving images and no sound. I can't get it to shut off automatically while the chromecast is just showing the backdrop slide show. It was marketed at being Google Assistant compatible, but as of review, it is unable to communicate with my assistant. It has been a couple of months now, and I haven't gotten any updates since opening the box. I hope this is not the case going forward, because I may leave denon after this.

I bought this to replace an older Pioneer AVR that didn't support 4K/HDR. Within an hour of getting everything unpacked and connected, I had to do a hard reset on it because the mapping of video to audio inputs got messed up and I couldn't fix it any other way. Once I did get everything setup correctly, it really impressed me with the sound. Not only is there ample power to drive my large Polk speakers, it's all very clear. There are other features (Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, Bluetooth transmission, and better Google assistant integration) that Denon has committed to deliver with future firmware updates. I don't know their track record for these things, but I'd rather such features be available on release. Also, I'm disappointed that Denon didn't include built-in Chromecast support, instead relying on the pretty awful HEOS platform (oddly, AirPlay 2 is supported). I'm hopeful that Denon will address these shortcomings with timely firmware updates before the 2020 models are released.

This is my 4th Denon AVR since about 1995. They have always been reliable and great to listen to. I have sold all of my used AVR's on ebay when I buy a new one. They do last and every new model has technology upgrades. This newer model for me has a lot of improvements. The HDMI has a pass through feature so you do not have to have power on for the TV to work. I like that the audio is sourced from the HDMI cable. Older models used digital input to get the high quality sounds. The 7.2 Channel is perfect for balancing the sounds to be more even around the room. It comes with a microphone to map the speakers and it checks the wiring to make sure they are not out of phase. (A feature I have used for many years.) It makes it perfect for moving. The Sirius XM is built-in along with other newer services. This one has Bluetooth and connects to smart phones and other devices. I found it easy to setup, connect, and enjoy. I even got to eliminate some cables. I have purchased all of my stereo and TV equipment from Best Buy. They always have the best prices and service if you need it. I never feel pressured to buy anything. They answer questions and I can browse until I decide if I want to buy. The rewards are great to have and spend.

As my first AV receiver, I'm happy with the many features and options that this gives me. I use this with my 7.1 Atmos setup and it sounds great! My biggest gripe is that I wish it had Google Cast and Google Assistant built-in. Sure, these are available on my Chromecast Audio and Shield TV that I have plugged into it, but it's one more step and much less convenient.

I’m so glad I bought this av receiver, I had an onkio that burn out on me , so the search started, and I guess by pure luck a month into my search this denon receiver went on sale for $599 (200 off) so I pulled the trigger, and bought it, my first impression was “where are all the buttons?” There is only 2 big knobs, so I figured I have to b able to adjust connecting to my TV, and there it was, so many controls, I can even bypass all filters, I’m mainly usiyfor music, with the occasional movie, I’m pushing my main 2 left/right speakers (home made by me) @8 ohm 450 watts a peace that used to sound a bit on the bright but loud with my onkio, I had to twme the brightness via 2 bar eq channel that onkio offers, it was ok, now with my new Denon it turn out to be like my firs attari, I couldn’t help but to play with it, all kinds of genre, my speakers have come alive, especially when going through mid level compression, did I mention it has 3 levels of compression? Wow this was my best sound, and a few days later my wife said to me “I need to show you something” one of the features it has I didn’t even realize is that once it’s in my phone Bluetooth and when the receiver is off all I have to do is go to my phone Bluetooth look up denon av receiver, connect and Voilà... it turns on on it’s own, I’m still experimenting with the movies but mainly my music it’s beautiful sound, I’m no audiophile but I love what I hear

My rating on this would be 4.5 out of 5. My first Denon Receiver was purchased just over 20 years ago. It still works wonderfully, but the connections are old technology and that is the reason I purchased this one. This new receiver is absolutely awesome. Picture and sound quality are flawless, provided you have good speakers and decent TV. You can connect your bluetooth devices to this receiver, such as phones and laptops. You can download an app for for it, but don't bother with it because it is unnecessary. Just click the bluetooth button on the remote and then set your Laptop or phone to find bluetooth connections and you can play your music. You can also change the naming of the input on the device, in a lot of cases it renames them automatically. As an example one of the the inputs is listed as AUX, renamed to Playstation without a manual change being made. Not all devices will do this, but you can manually rename them which is nice. You can also dim the display lighting on the receiver, so that they are normal bright, dim. Additionally, it can be set to have the display lighting off except when you interact with it. There is only one enhancement I would recommend for Denon to make this receiver perfect. It is not enough to down grade my rating as it is a very minor annoyance and not major. - The input assignment does not include the Component Video as its own input option. When using them, it has to take over one of the HDMI inputs via manual settings changes. This is very typical, but I would rather them have their own input selection and not take over what would be used for an HDMI port.

Overall I love this receiver: It has enough power for a 7.1 setup in a fairly large family room (15x25) and newer features such as AirPlay and eARC work really well. I sought the best receiver I could find in this price point and the Denon fit the bill really well. Coming from a 12-year-old Onkyo TX-SR705 that cost less than the Denon, it was disappointing to see some cost cutting between the two units: An unsubstantial, non-backlit remote; no user manual (no, a PDF doesn't cut it); and lacking THX certification, among some other sound modes (DTS-MA for example). Fortunately, newer features available on this 2019 model more than make up for the deficiencies; I enjoy using my phone's app to control the receiver (although the app itself could be much more user friendly), and eARC allows me to run everything through a single HDMI cable to the TV. I haven't tried HEOS but AirPlay has been simple to use from my phone. Setup was easy, walking through the on-screen prompts to pair my phone and configure the speakers using Audyssey. The power is just right for my room. We keep the volume around 64, and turn it up to 70 for movie nights, which is plenty loud without stressing the unit. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.

I was split between the Denon AVR-S960H and this. I decided to settle for this. Price was great and offered more power plus almost everything I needed. It does heat up quite a bit be prepared to put it in a well-ventilated space or buy a cooling fan to sit on top. Sounds great.

Was very easy to set up and tune for my HCS speakers. Running a 5.1.2 configuration and it took me around 45min to setup like I wanted. Sound quality is awesome, no popping or bleed through from what I can tell. Like that I can limit the max volume when streaming music. Setting up the Atmos speakers was just a simple selection and height estimate. Liked that it came with tags for your speaker wires and inputs. (Also got me to clean up my ratsnest that had accumulated) Wish the switching between inputs was a bit faster, but I only use a firestick and Xbox at the moment so im not going back and forth too much. Definitely gets hot in my cramped entertainment center. Resolved that with an AC Infinity - AIRCOM S10 Wish that they had the HDMI port for streaming device at the end, and also spaced wider from the other input ports. (Will just get an extension or use another hdmi port)

Replaced a 15 year old Denon that I received before HDMI and wireless connectivity was available. The older unit still worked great but it was time to have a receiver that supported HDMI and WiFi. The setup of the AVR-X2600H was much easier than anticipated. The online prompts during setup were also very helpful. The benefit for me since I already had a Denon receiver was the addition of the HEOS App for streaming content and controlling a multi room setup for audio. Still very happy with the unit and purchase after a few weeks. The only recommendation I would have for Denon is that the remote appears to be of lesser quality than my 15 year old Denon Remote. The new remote works fine but it has more plastic and is lighter than older remote. All is great with new unit and will recommend Denon to others.

Got this on sale near the holidays for a steal. This is a good receiver. It powers a surround set up with a zone 2 on my patio. The Audyssey setup was easy. Airplay built in is nice to have. Remote is a bit cheap and the app could be better. The HEOS works better than I expected.

WOW, I was looking to spend a certain amount for a receiver and waited for black Friday. I am so glad I did. This model is 2 steps up from what I was thinking about getting and hit my max price budget when on sale. Oh I'm so glad I waited. I've had for a couple months now and sound is amazing. I just wish it was HDMI 2.1 for 4k 120hrtz pass through but it is not. So I hook up my Xbox SX and PS5 to HDMI 1 and 3 and use HDMI 2 eArch to receiver for audio. Dolby Atmos sounds amazing. Super Easy set up, Wifi keeps firmware up to date, Auto speaker volume setup worked perfectly.

Easy to set up and optimize speaker locations with the included microphone. Sound is fantastic, and it fills the room with crystal clear sound. The only down side is there isnt much in way of adjustment for "sci-fy" or "sports" or other genres. We just turn it on and it sounds great. Those features are probably in there, just dont know how to get to them. Not enough to knock this down from 5 stars, but just noting. Overall great system and very well priced IMHO.

I bought this receiver to replace a Onkyo 676 I bought one year ago, the Onkyo's sound is very good but start to give me no sound problems after listening about 20 min, Im sending it to Onkyo assistence. The Denon's sound is amazing too and this one has a lot of more resources to adjust than my last Onkyo, the Audissey is very good too. I'm very happy with my fisrt Denon.

Replacing Yamaha Receiver that does not have HDMI connections with this Denon unit. The Yamaha is 18 years old and worked well with RGB Component connections to my multiple components however needed to upgrade to better use HDMI for Smart TV and ARC Sound. Good quality receiver and should meet my needs for several years to come.

I went back and fourth so many times between this and 950s finally when both on sale and it was only $50 more the choice was simple. Set up was pretty easy with on screen instructions. This is my first receiver. Still learning a little of all features but it’s pushing my Klipsch reference speakers beautifully. Airplay is awesome next is a nice turntable for my vinyl collection

I bought this Denon X2600H receiver to power Klipsch RP-8000F speakers along with Klipsch center channel speaker and subwoofer. The setup was easy and Audyssey did a great job with room correction resulting in amazing sound for both movies and music. I can't wait to purchase the Klipsch rear speakers to complete my setup. Highly recommend at this price point.
