I own a 1500.00-5 year old marantz. I believe a circuit went out. Didn't want to wait I. Repair, plus I wanted something with Bluetooth, networking capabilities. I first purchased a pioneer, a few weeks later this was was advertised at the same price. The pioneer was going to require that I spent an extra 300.00 To use all the features. This Demon came fully equipped so I exchanged it. The Denonswt up was very easy it has more power not to mention more features than the Pioneer. This is a great unit for the money. Even though it's it's Denon's entry level model, I feel no need to rush and hook my more expensive receiver.

Vacillated between several Denon, Pioneer, and Sony models before pulling the trigger on this purchase. I'm glad I did. Sound quality with some Klipsch speakers is great, interface is relatively easy to use, and the right number of HDMI inputs keeps viewing/gaming/TV ready at the touch of a button. Haven't used the 'zones' yet, but love the bluetooth feature with my iPhone music selection, or streaming from my computer. Definitely recommend this purchase if you don't want to spend $1,000+.

This is receiver is a decent entry-level machine. I first noticed the size. Quite a bit smaller than a $500 Onkyo purchased in 2002. I believe its small because Denon stuck to the basics. Quality parts, limited connections, & WiFi. The white led color is pleasant, and the overall face is balanced. More connections would have been nice. An extra optical in and optical out would have been useful. Receiver does have hdmi-arc, Low THD%, and good capacitors. The ability to play 7.2 is impressive too. The on screen menus are a little difficult to navigate. Navigating the menus on the receiver (without on screen) are near impossible. My 13 year old Onkyo is way easier to use and I like the Onkyo remote better as well. I hope you have small fingers and night vision if you want to use the denon remote. I would have expected more from a $500 machine, but then again, I guess the dollar just doesn't stretch as far as it use to:( Overall I give it 4/5 stars for quality and power. You might want to consider a receiver with a more intuitive menu system and better remote. I only use it for a 3.1 system and at $325, I consider it a really good deal.

It has enough HDMI inputs, sounds good and can be customized sound set up for your room. Remote is nothing great. You can control the system from your computer or app on your phone. It is not fancy, but does the job. Just don't update the firmware or have someone accidentally try to update the firmware over the network, it will get stuck trying to update. One of the kids clicked on yes to update firmware and it was stuck for a couple of days. Fortunately I was able to download the firmware and update it via the USB flash drive. I only bought this because of the price I purchased it for was about half the the price.

I switch to this receiver after my previous, Yamaha unit of 15 years. The sound quality is exactly the same. The connections are amazing. It uses all HDMI connections, so you may have difficulty if you have older components. However, if like me, you have gradually switched over to HDMI components (Cable box, Blu-ray, gaming system, Roku box), then this will greatly simplify your life. In addition to the connections, it has built-in Internet radio and Bluetooth connection to your phone or iPod. This is a second zone output which you can use with any device other than the TV. It even allows you to control the unit from your android phone or iPod. This is a great piece of equipment which makes life more convenient. I'm only sorry I hadn't bought it sooner.

I have owned other receivers before, but this Denon Receiver offers all the up-to-date features and provides functionality for tomorrow. May options and almost too many as far as input. WiFi, 3D pass thru and 4K, I am still exploring new features after owning it for a month now.

I had the X1000 model from 2013 which was a great product but did not have wi-fi capabilities (it had an ethernet port to accomodate networking) or dual zones. The X1100W has both now.. Since my living room is not wired with CAT5 I really was looking for the wi-fi option. While this is an old protocol they are using it gave me that functionality and is great. Pros: - Great value for the sound quality and output - Dual Zone capability (runs my living room and master bedroom on separate channels - HUGE for me) - Wi-Fi connectivity allows easy connectivity to the home network (another HUGE issue for me personally) - Plenty of HDMI ports (6) for BluRay, cable box, etc. Cons: - Denon App to use your phone with this over WiFi absolutely SUCKS. Nearly unusable, slow, glitchy but you can get it to work most of the time, sometimes have to reboot the receiver and/or my phone - WiFi is a slower and older protocol

After owning various Home Theater setups where everything comes in a box I decided to spend a little extra money and buy speakers separately from a receiver. I knew that I was planning on spending a bunch of money on a large 4K tv and I wanted great audio to complete the home theater experience. After deciding on Energy Take Classic 5.1 Speakers, I began looking at receivers and was planning on going with a Sony receiver. However, after doing some research and talking to some of the Magnolia employees, I ended up walking out with this Denon AVR-X1100w. The reason why I chose this is because while it is one of Denon's cheapest receivers, the brand is very well known and the receiver has all the features a higher end Sony or Onkyo would have. I like to think of Denon as the Infiniti's, Acura's, and Lexus's and the Sony's and Onkyo's as the Toyota, Honda's, and Nissan's. You can't go wrong with this receiver! The audio quality is superb and supplies plenty of power to the speakers. The surround sound is phenomenal and I feel like I am surrounded when watching movies or playing video games. Remember, a good home theater system needs both good speakers AND a good receiver!

I had a great sounding pair of Def Tech speakers that I wasn't using because all my technology had surpassed my 24 year old Kenwood and made it obsolete. I was trying to decide whether I should by a soundbar for TV and PS4 use. Well after some homework I decided to go with a new receiver to link my newer components together, and I'm glad I did! I have an LG TV , DirecTV, PS3, PS4, an LG cell phone that's 3 or 4 years old and this Denon Receiver works seemlessly with all of them. It was very easy to set up and has worked great. No idea why anyone would give this less than 5 stars!

Very easy to set up to your TV and other devices, DVD etc. Easy on-screen set up for surround sound, plug-in microphone for peak performance is great. Takes a bit of time, but worth it. A & B zones a bit misleading, can't hook up separate room speakers.

There is a lot to like about the Denon receiver I recently acquired at the Best Buy store in Salem NH. Cost effective, great features and ease of use. I love how one USB cable to the television has so many options. I only wish it had just a bit more oomph as they say. I've got it hooked up to a Klipsch Quintet series V with a pair of R26F floor standing speakers. Blue rays are phenomenal and music through the internet radio, say no more. I just hope it lasts.

This is my second Denon receiver. I have it paired with two floor standing dual 8" Klipsch Icons, Center Channel, surround, and subwoofer. I used the Audyssey microphone to calibrate the speakers and setup is easy with a relatively generic UI. I haven't used the Bluetooth or internet capability but everything has worked flawlessly so far.

Love the unit, however, it could use some improvements. First off, the input selections on the face plate (CBL/SAT, etc.) could be lighted so they are easier to see. Most entertainment centers are not well-lit. Secondly, using Airplay with Spotify, I will sometimes have to unplug system and restart to get it to accept incoming signal from my phone or iPad. Lastly, I used the setup feature for my surround sound and it works nicely, but anything (commercial or TV show, movie) that has background music in it drowns out the dialogue.

I needed a new receiver for my home entertainment system. I had never purchased a Denon before and only knew of their good reputation. I was blown away by the quality of sound and by how easy it was to set up. Denon also has a sweet app for phone that allows you to completely control the receiver from anywhere in the house. I love this thing and wold totally recommend it

I originally had the last model, and I was upgraded to this new on because of a factory defect. for the price, this receiver packs a great punch. It has all the HDMI's you need for most home theater systems. The 7.2 is also a nice upgrade. I plan to add the rear surround sometime soon.
