Disgaea keeps getting better and better while retaining the core gameplay i love. I have played through all Disgaea games. I haven't sunk my usual 70+ hours into this but so far i would rank it 2nd in terms of characters / story to D2, which is my favorite of the series. Be careful buying the Launch Day edition on bestbuy though as bestbuy sent me just the regular edition without the extras.

Great game with sharp ps4 graphics. Story is pretty good around 30-40 hours long. But the rral meat of the game is in the post game where the difficulty and content opened up and the grind to beat it is real. Deep combat system a big cast of characters kepping me busy in the months ahead.

As far as Strategy RPGs go, Disgaea is unique in it's limitless potential. Character levels up to 9999, tons of different weapon types and character classes with which to build your roster, and (if you want) literally hundreds of hours of gameplay. You can level up your weapons and equipment to ridiculous levels. The storyline is pretty good so far (I'm only on chapter 4 out of 16), and there's lots of DLC already. The DLC isn't critical to the gameplay or storyline, it just adds a few side chapters, and some playable characters from previous installments of the game. If you're a fan of Disgaea and want the latest and greatest in the series, pick this up. You won't be disappointed. Even if you're not a fan of Disgaea, but maybe a fan of Strategy RPGs, Anime, quirky humor, or just games in general, this is definitely a good purchase.

Man, this Disgaea is overflowing with content. The new Mario party style board is interesting. Story is decent and silly enough. Highly suggested to pick this up if you are fan of the series.

I was addicted to this game, worth every penny since I got over 70 hrs of gameplay. Not for the casual gamer, but if you are into strategy rpg's you will love this game! Must buy!

For fans of the series, this is basically what you would want in a sequel. For non-fans, it's a great turn based strategy game with insane amounts of depth. Don't be turned off by the anime style, there's a lot going on here under the hood

This game is still as good as the previous Disgaea games. The voice actors are people that I know and love hearing. The game play hasn't changed. The story is great.

Disgaea 5 improves on everything from the past series. Story is pretty fun and gameplay is fantastic, already sunk 50 hours into it and still so much to do.

This game is amazing. There is a lot too do and the dialog is entertaining. Wish they kept the mount sty stem but overall I'm happy with all the changes.

If you like old school Strategy Role Playing Games (SRPG's - like final fantasy tactics), then you will probably love Disgaea 5. I have played every Disgaea in the series and this one ranks in the top 2 for me. If you have never played a Disgaea before I would highly recommend this one. This is a great place for beginners of the series to start! This game is very repetitive in some aspects and you will do a lot of 'grinding' for level ups, items, etc. So don't bother if you don't like that sort of thing. This is my favorite series by NIS and I highly recommend it.

If you didn't preorder the Day One Edition then you messed up. It came with some extra goodies. The game is great. I love the turn based FF Tactics style strategy games.

This game was extremely fun, easy to play, and humorous dialogues between the characters. Very forgiving for an rpg which allows you to be more strategic. All in all I found the content to be well worth the price. Even after you beat the game there is a lot of post game stuff that can done.

if you liked JRPG and the strategy of games like fire emblem and advance war, you will love disgaea.

First and foremost, you have to at least find anime tolerable to enjoy this game. It revels in anime tropes and art style, which will obviously be a positive or negative depending on your taste. The latest Disgaea is a long, fun strategy romp with a side order of grinding, but that is the status quo for series fans. More fully featured than previous entries, and retaining the sheer amount of options for party composition, Disgaea 5 advances the formula without losing what makes it special. Be aware that there is a season pass to acquire what would have been post-game bonus characters in previous iterations. Being able to download these characters and use them from the offset can severely affect the balance of the early game, allowing you to storm through the early game only to be caught off-guard later when those characters are no longer overpowered. Great fun overall, and you get a lot of play time for your dollar.

NIS just keeps plugging along with the Disgaea franchise and I have to say, I think this is likely the best in the bunch. Many added features and a depth to the game that will allow you to run through it quickly to finish the story or invest thousands of hours into honing your squad and upgrading your equipment.

If you haven't played a game in the Disgea series don't worry, you don't need to have in order to enjoy this game. If you don't like SRPGs such as Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem then this game may not be for you. If you do, then wow, you're in for a treat. This is a great game - so much to do, so many fun things to experience. If you're on the fence pick it up!

You want a tactics game you can grind on until you die of old age? Then here's a new Disgaea. Beautiful artwork and hot anime babes. Everything you want in a tactics game.

Holds true to the style of the series. Adds a lot of new twists to a very successful formula of tongue in cheek humor with tactical gameplay. Beating the story is just tell beginning .

This game is amazing! One of the best in the series so far. Includes all the features you love from the older games with a few new things. Definitely worth owning right away.

Been a fan of grid based tactical RPGs from Fire Emblem series. Excellent game on console, looks shiny, plays well, great mechanics, lots to do. Will not be disappointed
