The band may not have liked all the cover version put on the album, but I loved their version of "(Oh) Pretty Woman," preceded by the awesome instrumental "Intruder" (almost as epic as "Eruption" from the first album). Add to that "Where Have All the Good Times Gone," "Dancing in the Street," and "Big Bad Bill" and the original "Little Guitars," and you have one fine collection.

Love the music. I searched on amazon and E-bay. The Best Buy new price was very comparable when you add in shipping and the item being brand new. Hope you love the music as much as I do!

It may just be my old ears, but I could not tell the difference between this new remastered version and the previous one. Still a great album if you don't already have it.

This is not Van Halen's best CD. It is very good. I am glad to add it to my very large CD collection. Best Buy is a very good place to buy CDs.

Van Halen set SO MANY 80s standards

This "album" still sounds SO FRESH, even 35 years later (boy do these songs make feel SO old, and yet, still SO young). This "album" is a "must-have" for all you "dyed-in-the-wool" 1980s "rockers". ... ALL Van Halen (pre Van "Hagar" - a great "lead-man" in his own right) music collections should have this CD: It's a "core" set of songs that really helped to solidify the group's status as "rock-gods", even with (or especially because of) the tongue-in-cheek "capper" song "Happy Trails" (by Dale Evans) the "King of the Cowboys" Roy Rogers' TV show "sign-off" song. ... How many 80s "metal" bands would ever have had the guts to do this AND put it on an "album"!?! - In short, this IS music that WILL BE listened to for as long as people are still able to listen to music.

Maybe I am not an audiophile but it does not sound much different than than the last set of remasters. Also no addtional liner notes or bonus tracks. But if you don't have them classic Van Halen.

On the road for a cross-country trip and wanted to play my music selections on my car's CD player (yes, we still play CDs) Best Buy had a huge bin of so many favorites it was hard to keep from buying a bunch! Most were $5.99 (brand new of course) Thanks for the selection

I'd give it 3 1/2 stars, but it wasn't a choice. Out of the six Roth era albums, this one is fifth for me.

I bought this to see how the remastering of the early Van Halen CD's is, Yea they are louder, you hear the drums and bass more that's for sure, and this is the hidden gem in Van Halen's catalog, no one ever talks about this CD and it's not perfect CD, but it's a darn fine CD!

Took me way too long to add this classic album to my collection. Very eclectic album for Van Halen with a variety of song types on it. I really love the extended intro to Pretty Woman that you never hear on the radio version.

I got this cheap and figured I would compare it to the last remaster. I'm no audiophile, so can't really tell a difference. Still a blast all these years later. Yeah, I know they're not all covers.

I enjoyed the light hearted feel of this cd. Makes me smile, just picturing Diamond Dave and his antics delivering the goods along with Eddie, Alex, and Michael. Given it has 5 covers and it can't touch their earlier releases, it's still enjoyable.

With instrumentals, some classic songs with a rock twist and closing it with "Happy Trails" just for fun makes this an enjoyable album for me.

This is not the best vh album , but is there last traditional sounding one before 1984. There is about 4 or 5 good solid songs and the price was right.
