Compact pocket camera with high video quality!

I'm getting this Pocket 2 for some casual daily filming, and shooting 4K is more than enough for me. It is so tiny, compact and easy to carry everywhere. It is also nice to have a hard case included with the unit to protect it, and the connectors can be stored in it. You can scan the QR code to download the DJI app in the App Store and start using from there. The Pocket 2 did a good job on stabilizing and overall quality. 64MP and 8x zoom is great for photography, plus it's far better in low light than other cameras I've used. The Creator Combo is great for live streaming since with the Do-it-all handle, you will get the tripod, wireless microphone transmitter and wide-angle lens. It's definitely a great deal and have everything you need for Vlogging. Loving it so far and yet to discover all of its functionalities.

If your cell phone had a gimbal...

Good little camera that doesn't draw a lot of attention to itself or you when using it. The gimbal is really nice, but keep in mind it doesn't have a way to combat some of the swaying while you walk, so planning your movements might still be required with some shots. There is certainly a learning curve with the controls, and it's not what I would call entirely intuitive... but this smooths out with use and is not too bad. The overall video quality is similar to most average smart phones. Audio is similar, but I can tell the "directional" mics make a difference in a noisy environment. The clip on mic is fine and less bulky than, say, the Rode Wireless Go mic, so that's a plus. The extra functionality of the do-it-all handle is a blessing and a curse. The ability to use the wireless mic, and the wirelessly control the device is a huge plus... the fact that it can't stream while using the do-it-all handle is certainly a con. Also, the wide-angle lens makes a little bit of difference, and seems like decent quality... but I don't find it particularly required in most instances.

I have a first generation and decided this would make a great present for my son who is a legit video producer. So far he likes the ease to use, quality of the images taken while moving and overall quality of the video and photos this unit is capable of collecting. He will be traveling all over europe and will use the pocket 2 to document his travels. Can't wait for his video!

This thing is incredible. If you’re going on a trip somewhere where there will be a lot of walking, it’s compact enough to not be a burden, but it’s also an incredible device. The quality is amazing, and the gimbal is practically perfect. The Creator Combo is a must. I can’t imagine using this without it.

Good convenient video shooter, but lots of flaws

This is for the creator combo kit, which adds some nice features. The Pocket 2 itself is a great everyday video camera with great quality and some decent features added via software updates (HDR Video mode is excellent). Some good points: Battery life is surprisingly good. You're not going to go all day, but it's good enough that we don't worry about it. Video quality is awesome. Stablization is good, but it won't stop you from bouncing around if you're walking normally... you have to do some smoothing yourself by how you move. There are lots of things stopping it from getting a five star review... The built in video screen is miniscule and almost useless. The joystick controller is "on/off", meaning you can pan or zoom with it, but you can't ease in or out of a pan or zoom, making the feature almost useless (I shoot in 4k and pan and zoom in software where I have more control of it). I haven't used the wide-angle lens yet... it seems like that would be for pretty specialized uses only. The wide angle lens has a slot to keep it in in the carrying case, but it falls out all the time. Leave it at home if you don't need it. The built microphones are okay, but not great. Expect it to sound like you're recording on your cell phone. The remote transmitter is a fantastic idea, but the built in microphone on it is terrible... very muddy and muffled, with our without the wind screen. But, with a $15 lavalier mic added to it, it's great and we use it all the time! The do-anything handle is a necessity, IMO, as it allows you to use your phone as a screen and controller without physically being connected to the camera. Without that, you'd need to use the USB-C adaptor (included), but that is just setting yourself up to break the port on your phone or the Pocket 2. Of course, if you use the DoAnything add on, it'll make the Pocket 2 not quite so pocketable, and none of the aftermarket cases (or even DJI's cases) fit with it. The add one tripod thingy is a nice thing to have around, but you need to remember to tighten it with a coin like every time you use it. The software that you have to use for the camera isn't DJI's worst software they've ever released, but it's pretty bad. You are greeted with screens of stuff about devices that aren't the Pocket 2. In order to it to do anything, you need to force it to connect to the camera, which usually requires two or three more clicks than it feels like it should... "Connect to camera. Yes, that camera, the same one I always connect to. Just connect already!" The most recent version of the software is now only available via a sideloaded APK ffrom DJI's site. If you install the app from the Play store, you'll get a notice that you should install it from DJI's web site as it's no longer updated on the store. I can't find any explanation of why this is required and it makes DJI seem a little shadier than they already are. Oh... Activetrack and autofocus are both pretty bad. ActiveTrack looses track of me just walking down the street or across my lawn. Autofocus hunts just often enough to make me look like a total amateur, even if I'm sitting in a chair talking to the camera with good lighting. We've had to turn it off and just get in the habit of clicking faces every time we record. Finally, the Pocket 2 isn't the same size as the original Pocket. It's just different enough to make you think existing cases and mounts might work... they don't. The handle will fall out of clamps, stuff won't line up right, buttons will be in the way, etc. Most manufacturers who sell add on stuff just added "works on Pocket 2" for all their original Pocket stuff. Make sure you can return them easily if you want to try that when buying stuff. There is a "Pro" mode, which lets you shoot D-Cinelike. However, it doesn't seem to be the same Cinelike as any other DJI cameras... none of the colors are "right" when LUTs are applied and DJI doesn't provide a LUT for this device for some reason. We ended up having to use a Colormatch chart for every shoot in order to be consistent. In short, if you're just looking for something that you can use to upload stablized videos of your random adventures to Facebook, you can probably ignore all the bad points I mentioned and be fine. The Pocket 2 is a good device with great video quality. But, if you're looking for consistent regular shooting that you plan to edit into professional(ish) looking videos, this is a good device, but you're going to have to put in a bit of extra work. Still, it's way easier than setting up a DSLR on a gimbal every day. If it were to break, I'd get another because I don't know of anything else that has the same quality video in that size. But, it still feels like it should be way better than it is.

The video and audio quality of the Osmo Pocket 2 is so much better than the original pocket. If you love video taping, but don’t like carrying bulky equipment and want more stability than what your phone can deliver, I highly recommend the pocket 2.

Great Bang For The Buck For My Uses

For the money, this kit is a great value with the wireless lav mic and wireless extension module that also allows for another mic to be plugged in. Sure it would be even better if it had a headphone jack and a smaller lav mic unit as the current is a bit big and draws attention but like I said, for the money, this delivers quite well and is noticeably better in low light.

DJI Excels with a great gimbal camera

DJI simply makes great products. And from all accounts (I have no prior reference point) but from all accounts, the improvements from the previous version of this incredible camera has been very good for the users. Many new features and improvements have been added and made and I find it easy to use, fun to use and provides both great video files and photos.....bright, clear, adjustable and so much more. DJI's products are excellent in my book - personal opinion but it counts for me that a product is as good as its reputation and my expectations for it.

All in all a great device for on the move videoing. Make sure and watch online tutorials to learn how to use all the different features.

Just like all my other DJI electronics it works very well. The only downside is I have to transfer the photos/videos to my phone from the mimo app before they get uploaded to google photos. When using my om4 and 5 they just automatically get uploaded to photos so not sure why I have to transfer first from the pocket 2 but again it's a great device.

This camera is my favorite camera purchase of the year and that is saying a lot because I absolutely love the GoPro Hero Black 9. The Pocket 2 fixed all of the problems that the original OSMO Pocket had like no tripod thread, no easy way to connect external audio, the lens not being wide enough. All those problems are fixed with the Pocket 2. I love using this little camera and its the perfect vLogging camera.

An amazing camera which captures great stabilized video. Well worth it for capturing family moments or video blowing.
