Dragon Quest is the perfect game if you're searching for a classic JRPG that doesn't suffer from the typical pitfalls of classic JRPGs. Graphics are beautiful, the story is well written and engaging, and it'll keep you busy for quite a while.

Square has gone back to the old school RPG but has refined it so it's no longer the taxing random battles. This has made the game much more enjoyable. The story along with gameplay makes this one of the better RPGs I have played in a while.

This is another great Dragon Quest game, and we can't see enough of these here in the States! Absolutely gorgeous visuals, with that same iconic battle system, music, art style and characters we love from the Dragon Quest/Warrior series!

So stunning graphically that for the first time I can recall my ps4 actually had to stop and load for a few seconds while I was walking into one of the bigger towns.
The monsters and even most bosses can be put down without much effort, so even though I know there are mechanics the game provides to make my team more powerful I honestly have no reason to take advantage of them.
I have not yet completed the game but the story so far is kinda weak and generic compared to something like the golden age of Final Fantasy. The characters have somewhat interesting personalities but so far there has not been a lot of character development. I can only hope this changes further into the game but to have come this far without it makes the game less attention holding. All that being said if you are looking for the babies first RPG experience (new to RPGs) or just miss that classic line up beat em up game play, you could definatly enjoy this.

If you like old school turn based RPG's then this is the game for you. It has a good story and a lot of good characters. Only issue so far is it doesn't feel very challenging but you can change the difficulty later in the game.

This is probably my favorite DQ game of all time. The graphics are gorgeous. Each town is unique and memorable. The battle system is fun. It is still traditional turn based, but it does add different elements to spice things up. The characters are interesting and you grow attached to them as the game progresses. It is a lengthy game that can be divided into 3 acts. I personally find this to be one of the 3 best games i’ve played on the PS4 and also one of the best rpgs i’ve ever played. My only complaint is the music can get repetitive.

I really liked this Dragon Quest XI because it went back to real RPG which to me it offers a greater challenge opposed to Adventure style. It has a great story and good graphics making it a well rounded game.

Strong Story and excellent gameplay. The game was my first game into the dragon quest series, while there have many on the nintendo 3DS, I didn't have as much time these as I do now.
Relaxing game with perfect pacing.

Dragon Quest XI is a great, modern JRPG. It has all the basics; turn-based combat, crafting, mini-games, and skill trees. The art style is charming and immersive. The story is well done and offers many hours of enjoyment.

By far one of the best games I have played this year. Dragon Quest XI puts the player into the role of the Luminary, a hero whose ancestor once saved the world from the Dark One. Taking up the mantle of hero and with a band of memorable and likable friends, you journey out to stop the Dark One from rising again. The gameplay is relatively simple in comparison to other JRPGs but this definitely does not make the game any less fun. It's also a huge adventure, spanning 100+ hours in total over 3 parts of the game. It includes side quests, post game content, minigames, and plenty of opportunities to witness its huge narrative. I am about to finish the game and have thoroughly loved nearly every minute playing DQXI. Highly recommended for anyone who likes JRPGs.

I’ve followed the Dragon Quest series on handheld Nintendo devices and this port to the PS4 didn’t disappoint. Great story and characters with plenty to do, always left wanting more. Can’t wait for the next iteration.

This is exactly what I always remembered loving about JRPs. I wish the Final Fantasy games would return to this type of format. The story is top tier and graphics and combat triple A. Must buy for the RPG lovers.

So this is the 11th game to aloong going series. The graphics I will say are great but some pop ups in some areas but no game killer. The music is still the same as previous so to me maybe a change on several tracks that sound like they were ripped from other titles in the series. The voice so far is perfect and on par with the characters and their personalities. Still an awesome game to own.

If you're a fan of traditional JRPG games then do yourself a favor and buy this. Let's keep the genre alive. The graphics are gorgeous. Combat is turn based but still feels a little modern. Plenty of story. Enjoy!

Having never played a Dragon Quest game before, I actually went into this one with no expectations. But in the end I walked away incredibly satisfied. I only recently got into turn-based RPGs, and Dragon Quest pulls it off pretty well. Buffs/debuffs and the Pep mechanic lend some strategic depth, and the quality of the attack animations makes playing through enemy encounters a visual treat. The graphical style is quite unique, with characters having a nice, dark CG look that I'm now a huge fan of, and environments somehow managing to look almost photorealistic. The music is a little bit lacking; the level-up and rewards music sound borderline budget-quality. But that's a minor gripe in an otherwise great (and massive) journey.

Good story and old school rpg combat. This game is really long though. I thought I was close to the end and then realized it was the end of the first act of three
