The particular camera I got was a great value because it was an open box item with an extra discount from Best Buy (and I used some rewards that were due to expire anyway), so I don’t have any complaints about the price point. I have not done any action video (yet), and I am still actually evaluating all possible uses for this camera. While the camera is not advertised as waterproof, it is labeled “water resistant” and can be splashed upon. The tripod socket on one side of the camera would have limited its usefulness if it were not for the rotating lens. Hence, you can even mount the camera upside down, such as with a window mount, and all you need to do is rotate the lens to get a rightside-up picture. I have used it inside a subcompact car to record a drive, and if it is used on a monopod attached to the side of the driver seat, the camera lens has a wide-enough coverage to include all of the front windshield, the dashboard, and most of the two side mirrors (and the right shoulder and arm of the driver). The back cover of the camera has to be removed (using a generous-size thumbwheel) to remove/insert the battery and the microsdhc memory card, as well as access the mini-USB port to recharge the battery. There is a rubber gasket that goes around the edges to seal the camera when the back is replaced. The camera does work with the USB cable plugged in, but that would mean you have to leave the back exposed, and risk misplacing the back cover. While the manufacturers make what appears to be a special battery for this camera, the battery is compatible with an NP-60 battery, which if you get it generically, costs much less than the manufacturer’s battery.

    Good action cam at 720P

This action cam has a better color saturation than my XTC-200 HD (720P). Mounting attachments that come with the action cam should be more than enough for any type of activity. I liked the remonte control, rotating lens and the LCD screen, which makes shooting videos much easier than my XTC-200. The only drawback is the weight. My XTC-200 is way lighter than this action cam.

I got the HD720 on sale for $79. For that price, I really could not expect anything better than what I got. The camera works reliably and is easy to use. The image quality is respectable in bright light, and useable in low light. It has trouble with white balance in artificial lighting (incandescent, fluorescent, etc), however. The built-in LCD screen is a bonus at this price, and the rotating lens is also very useful. The only thing I don't care for is the long missile-like shape, but that's just my preference. This is a great way to try out an action cam to see if it's something you really want to get into before spending lots of money on a more advanced one.

I got this for $30 after a bunch of discounts and promo's. I love it. It is very easy to use and I LOVE the rotating lense. The picture quality on my GoPro is better but it's 1080p and the GoPro does not have a rotating lense. Great buy.

I LIKE THE SIZE, IS PRACTICAL AND EASY TO HANDLE. I BOUGHT A SECOND ONE FOR MY BROTHER, AND IS NOT WORKING, APPARENTLY THE BATTERY DOESN'T WORK, IT DOESN'T CHARGE; I AM IN MEXICO, NOW I WILL HAVE TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY TO SEND IT BACK. ALSO I DON'T LIKE THAT IT DOESN'T COME WITH INSTRUCTIONS, AND IT'S DIFFICULT TO GET PICTURES WHEN MOVING. --

I bought this camera and it did not work, exchanged it and the second didn't work either, best buy doesn't carry replacement batteries. After some research online found camera to be compatible with fuji camera battery. After replacing battery, camera functions perfectly. Light, easy to use and durable.

Simple to use. Handy accesories included. Goggle mount works great as a vented helmet mount. Remote is handy for starting stopping recording while on bike. Remote designed so you can run a strap through it to mount virtually anywhere. Rotation of lens turns camera view so camera can be mounted in virtually any position. Only real negative is the large amount of distortion from wide angle lens giving a fisheye view. audio quality not great on internal mic, but not a problem for my intended use.

Everything about this camera is great, picture quality is incredible for the price. The only complaint I had was they sell them with faulty batteries. I exchanged three off them until finally I called the company and they were more than happy to send me a replacement battery that worked.it was a hassle at first but worth it in the end.

Ordered online, received one with dead battery out of the box. Exchanged in a BB store, got a second dead battery. Exchanged again, this time brought a multimeter with me, sure enough, 3rd dead batter in a brand new box. Finally got battery from a demo unit, very disappointing. Picture quality is OK, a bit grainy. The best feature is the lens orientation, you can change the lens independently to the camera body, so you can have it shoot upside down. No weather sealing is a big minus for an action cam. Overall OK for the price I paid.

Picked this camera up to test out and its amazing. Great quality camera for an unbeatable price compared to a Go Pro Hero 3 white. The screen helps alot in determining what is actually being filmed and you don't have to buy a bunch of add ons to have this!

I wanted a action camera for a rc quadcopter,i saw this one at best buy on sale for $50 I had read some reviews on the camera and most people complained about the battery, not taking a charge. I decided to take a chance on the camera since it was only $50. I went to my local best buy to pick one up and they only had one in stock, it was a open box item that did not look opened at all for $40.I had a $5 coupon so that made it $35. Got it home and sure nuff the battery would not charge . I was going to take it back but I found out the battery it takes is a common battery NP-60.I had one in a old camera that still worked. got 2 more np-60 batteries off ebay for $9.

cool little camera. only thing that takes time to get used to is the view window on the side. You have to look at the side of the camera to see what you are recording out the front. If it flipped out that would be nice. But for the money, and the fact that most people will just strap it on, its a nice, small, light weight device.

Bought this camera for my son's 12 birthday and he takes it to the bmx park with him every time. He mounts it on his helmet and absolutely loves it. It has better than average picture quality. One of the best birthday gifts we've gotten him so far.

Got this camera on sale. We mounted it to my wife's helmet to try it out. It takes decent videos, and also has a picture mode where she can shoot pics of the scenery as we are riding. All in all, a good starter camera.

I used this on a trials bike when we went riding in a very scenic place. I got some really great video but the audio quality was poor. Not sure if it was due to being mounted on the handlebar or??? File size is large but video quality is good. Overall I really like it and am very happy with it.

For $99 this is a great cam, bought it for my motorcycle. The only downside is the wind noise, buy the drift 1080 with an external mic if you want to avoid it
