Could not really get into the film when it first came out. I really should have watched this film in IMAX. But after rewatching it on 4K I absolutely enjoyed it and the overall production of the film.

Great epic science fiction saga. This is only the first part of the story can’t wait to conclude the story in next years Dune Part 2.

Another excellent film by Denis Villeneuve, one of the best of 2021, very good image in 4K can't miss a pity in the collection that I couldn't buy the steelbook

This is a hard one for me to rate. The movie looks amazing but the story of dune has always kind of put me to sleep. Its one of the few stories that i have read half the book of and then just gave up. I do wish warner bros would put more effort into the cover art these days though. It always seems to be a cut image on single color background. They all just sort of blend togeather these days when covers used to be somthing companies are proud of.

My wife couldn't stand it. I will give it another try because it looks visually beautiful on my 75" uhd TV and sounds massive in surround sound, but i just couldn't get a grasp of characters and groups to follow story (maybe its old age!).

When you have a 4k 85 inch television and a PS5 with the capacity for playing 4kUHD discs...You invest in hard copies!!! The difference is palpable and noticeable when comparing streamed 4K content versus the disc. When I saw this disc had gone on sale for just $10, it was destined to be mine. It was my wife's first time watching the movie at all, and for me the difference between watching it in this way compared to previously when we streamed it on the 65-in television was a far superior experience! We loved it! Shipping was fast and easy from Best Buy, in fact it took significantly less time than they originally estimated. Highly recommend.

Still love the original,but the action is great in the remake. Acting is great and special effects are awesome. The 4k is the way to watch.

Looks awesome on 4k! Better than the original movie. It probably helped that it is broken down into 2 movies. Also, able to do better special effects and CGI now.

Dune has come a long way since the mid 80s! I really enjoyed this film. There were slowburn (slowly amping up the energy of the film) and excellent action through out the movie. This is the first of the Trilogy, I highly recommend it, especially if you want to watch the other two. (#2 is out, #3 in 2026)

I know this movie is only "half the story" (still waiting for the second half, which hits theaters in early 2024)...but, for those who've read the book, this is the best theatrical interpretation. The first version (also a theatrical release) was "entertaining" (it even co-starred Sting, and he did an outstanding job), but it wavered from the novel quite a bit...ESPECIALLY in regards to the ending. The second version, released as a Sci-Fi Channel miniseries, was extremely well-done, and included a truly remarkable cast...but, certain key elements were left out (I do, however, thank it, as it also brought the next two novels, "Dune Messiah", and "Children of Dune", to life). This latest version, while not without 'faults'to followed the novel closer than any previous version.

It looks great and stuck to the original script. I thought the acting was good. I felt there was too much dramatic “whoa look how big and grand everything is” moments. As if the audience should be amazed at what they are seeing. Instead of letting the story bring you in. Overall i enjoyed it. Was wanting to wait to purchase until part 2 was releasedbut $5 for a 4k couldnt resist

For some of us of a certain age the Frank Herbert Dune masterpieces of sci-fi literature had a very large impact in our childhood and young adult years. It inevitably launched or was a steppingstone along the way to a profound love of the highest levels of the genre including Asimov's Foundation series, Pohl's Gateway - Heechee sagas, Heinlein, Bradbury, Clarke and so much more. For most of us fans of the novels, Lynch's 1984 movie was at least some visualization brought to the screen. Of course, the movie was a failure commercially as it's quirkiness and mind-boggling world building alienated most audiences from the start. It took almost another 4 decades to get a second try at bringing this iconic work to screen. And Villeneuve has hit it out of the park with this 1st part (and 2nd part coming to screen next month with already rave reviews from pre-screeners as I type this). He clearly loves and respects the source material. With his solid work in Arrival and a respectful, on-point Blade Runner sequel he's become something of a sci-fi specialist. The choice of actors here is almost dead on. The state-of-the-art striking visuals and sounds hold to novel's requirements. It seems there is a near perfect balance between giving a non-fan something really amazing to experience and the hard-core fan of Herbert's novels something to plaster a grin from ear to ear. As I watched this it just "felt" like Dune. My eyes and ears were filled with some of the same images and sounds I had in my head some 45 years ago reading about them. Yes, some important characters are given short shrift. Some important scenes in the novel are missing or compressed but you only have 2 to 3 hours for each of these movie "parts". All in all, this is still quite an achievement. I can't wait to see part 2! And maybe even more parts down the line? This 4K Dolby Vision / Atmos disc is completely and totally demo reference material. Your screen will explode with vast vistas of color, texture and detail. Your speakers will roar and sing. Your subwoofers will shake the walls. If you are a legacy fan of this material, I can at least seriously recommend giving this a shot. You might just be blown away. If you are new to the world of Dune maybe rent / stream it first but then I think you'll still want to purchase this disc to enjoy multiple viewings! Truly a must own for the collection!
