lets get to the main point that put off a lot of people.... this movie is very very very long. i for one have nothing against long movies i enjoy and welcome them at any time, but not a lot of people like this. but man this movie is BEAUTIFUL, every shot of this movie is just a work of art! idk how to describe this but youll definitely have to watch it.

This movie was epic! Just had to pull off the ultimate heist to watch this epic movie in peace... told my roomies Best Buy was having an 80% off sale and they flew out the door faster than you could say 'popcorn'! Mission accomplished, snacks intact!

Probably my pick for best film of the year. Seeing this on crystal clear 4K is as good an experience as seeing it in IMAX. The film succeeds on nearly every level of score, effects, cinematography, acting, characterization, and plot. If you are a sci-fi fan or even just a fan of owning gorgeous films to watch in an immersive 4K experience, this is a must own.

I don't yet have a 4K Disc Player, so put on Blu-ray of Movie. I was glad that I could get a 5.1 Playback of Soundtrack. The Picture is excellent, with deep focus and superb images. As for the Movie Content, the Acting and Pace are Far better than Lynch's 1984 Movie. However, there are a lot of Gaps that were well-done in 1984 Movie. The Sets were good. with great Details. The Special Effects, especially, for the Optocopter (of correct Spelling} were quite good; the Sandworm, was a dissapointment. There is definitely, a cut off and subtle details of Sequen(s).

Dune is such a great movie and in 4K the movie looks spectacular

Good movie with excellent ATMOS audio and UDH video. The picture & Audio are state of the art. If you have a true ATMOS system, you will appreciate the Audio. To me the movie moves kind of slowly. I had to watch it twice to really get the point of the movie. It is great start to a sequel. Good entertainment.

Never read the book but this movie was great, especially in 4k.

A decent reboot of a great story. Hopefully the sequels are just as good.

This is part one of two parts. After watching Dune twice, I hope they've started on part two. Visually stunning. Moves slow at times but you don't notice it. An incredible cast and the director of Arrival, Sicario and Blade Runner 2049. Some have said that it's hard to follow. It isn't. If you like the best in science fiction, buy Dune.

Outstanding in every way. Perfect to test your home theater to its limits.

First, I am a hard core fan of Dune, the novel. I have been waiting with anticipation for the movie's release. Not surprisingly, the special effects were superior. But one stood out in particular- those for the ornithopter. Neither the 1984 movie nor the Sci-Fi channel adaptation showed them the way Frank Herbert envisioned them. This movie does. The character portrayals were mostly good. Four stand out in particular: Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Dave Bautista as Beast Rabban, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck and Javier Bardeem as Stilgar. I can only give an ok for Baron Harkonnen. Ian McNiece in the Sci-Fi channel adaptation was superior as the Baron. And Lady Jessica was just too emotional for someone trained by the Bene Gesserit. My only real negative is for Dr. Kynes. I'm sorry, you just don't change a story like Dune. No matter what you say, Fremen society is patriarchal in nature. Dr. Kynes as a woman would have a harder time getting the Fremen to embrace this vision to transform Arrakis. Lastly, there was a great deal of attention to include the little things (such as references to the Old Duke). All in all, this movie is a must-see.

Dune was really good but if you saw the original it would help you understand the story better with more back round of what is happening. still good on its own.

Got it off a deal, great movie for my collection. would recommend
