I wanted to hate this movie because I loved David Lynches version. After watching this version a couple of times I have come to accept it as good as David Lynch's version The best way to present it would probably be a TV series to be able to include all of the book material that doesn't get included in the movie(s). Overall it is a great movie. For viewers that have never read DUNE are missing lots of supporting scenes.

I was never into to the old Dune movies, But theses new ones are ok.

Great movie. Looks great on Blu-Ray. Physical media still remains supreme. The audio from this vs. watching on Netflix is night and day. Anyone out there who have given up on Blu-Ray/Ultra HD, think about picking this up and doing a side to side comparision. Hard not to hear/see the difference.

Allegedly, the white-savior vibes will go away in the sequal/s, but it is all over this movie. I think the point of Best Buy asking for this review though was to talk about the picture quality. Holy guacamole, it was like the sand worms were coming through the screen. Thankfully, that was not the case though, or I couldn't write this review.

When I bought this, I didn’t realize that it was Part 1. Part 2 might be coming out in Nov. That was a surprise, however, the movie is great especially if you liked the original 1984 version. Part 1 basically takes you through the first half, and follows the original closely, but with some slightly different views and technologies. Great cast!

The Steelboook was beautiful, i heard some differnt reviews and was uncertian of the movie, i ended up ordering cause its just mote cost effective for me and my family and i felt like the movie was not long enough. Very very entertainig i was blown away glad i got the movie and glad i got it in a 4k Steelbook.

A must see if you remember the 1984 version. Much better story line and true to book. 4k a must to watch

This movie is simply brilliant. Every actor gives great performances and the direction is superb. The cinematography is stunning and the special effect being a mix of practical and digital really work well to immerse us into this world. For me though, the best part of owning this disc is the sound. The Atmos mix is top notch, completely immersive, thunderous while still remaining delicate and nuanced and dynamic, and the soundtrack is on another level and wholly fits within the context of the film. The one thing I will ding this movie for, and it was an issue in the excellent Dolby Theater I saw it in originally and also plagues this disc is that some of the dialogue, especially Lady Jessica, is mixed to low in the mix. They are whispered lines that have a ton of purpose. They are not throwaway lines and really must be heard, but it is difficult to make them out in parts. I truly think this is going to be my go-to disc to show of my home theater for a long time to come.

Huge fan of Dune and this approach to the complex plot is spot on - I like that the director takes his time to develop the story and the planetary setting. Great visuals. Solid acting, although the actor who plays Paul appears a bit young/ immature. Can't wait to see the next one.

I went into Dune in the theater because I love Denis Villeneuve's previous work, but I didn't know anything about this material. Although it is a celebrated novel, Dune isn't something I had previously read or seen in any of the other adaptations. So I had no pre-existing expectations whatsoever. I was blown away. The movie is stunning in scope and complexity, but also manages to find intimate character moments inside all of the spectacle. The steelbook release is beautiful. It is a shame that it was made in such limited supply that it was difficult for people to obtain. I'm glad I got one, but also wish it had been easier for others to get ahold of too. Fortunately, the discs are the same as the regular 4K release, so even if you missed out on the steelbook, you can still get the movie. I do hope Warner Bros. and Best Buy produce more copies of the steelbook next time.

One of the first movies I bought once I set up my dolby atmos soundbar and speakers. The 4k blu ray is the best way to experience the movie with its great atmos sound and it looks really good too. One of the best adaptations of a book to a movie.

While not the top of the line version that comes in a metal case, this two disc edition with a digital copy is good enough for my needs. Picture and sound quality is first rate throughout the 4K disc, much better than the average streaming service provides. Overall, very happy with this physical media purchase from Best Buy.

Finally able to see this movie but glad I waited for Blu-Ray. Fantastic picture quality, sound is equivalent to picture. Futuristic to a point, graphics are wonderful. Will enjoy this many times more.

I read the novel for the first time over the summer and fall before this came out, so Herbert's original was firmly in mind. This felt really true to the tone and feel of the novel, even when it strayed from the specifics of the plot. It feels big in every way and nothing is wasted. It's long but goes by quickly. And the final line of dialogue is kind of perfect. I enjoyed it a couple of times on the big screen and needed a copy for home viewing to prepare for Part 2. Now that I've seen Part 2, I realize that, just like the first half of the novel, this movie lays the groundwork but barely prepares you for what's to come. A great set-up.

The best way to watch this stellar movie is through a Blu-Ray and 4k!

Movie: This thing is a masterpiece. Seen it multiple times now and every time it's just more and more spectacular. From the cinematography, to the music, to the performances. It just hits every note perfectly. Disc: Looks fantastic on 4k without a doubt. I did notice a weirdness with the HDR, but that's not limited to this film and I believe is my TV. The audio is top notch as well. This stands as a great example of why physical media blows streaming away. Steelbook: I admittedly slept on this one when it first made it's rounds mostly out of a desire to get it and the inevitable sequel as a set. When it came back, the artwork won me over. It's just solid. Not to mention it blows the poster away.
