Easy to use & change parts for many uses. Fairly lightweight to carry & pull when used. A few suggestions-would like on/off switch on handle instead of canister & must take care when using adapters since plastic seems thinly molded. The main brush adapter works well with just suction as created by design. Simple design to empty canister however bottom plastic clip could easily be broken when reconnecting if not careful.

Although this vacuum rolls round easily and lets you get into tough to reach places, it clogs easily (comes apart easily for cleaning too though) and sounds terrible on hard surface floors as there is no padding on sweeper. Difficult to run over carpets with easily. Comes with great attachments. My arms hurts by the end. Nothing like my old electrolux canister with which I miss so much. It was much simpler throwing away a bag when full.

My review really is 4.5 stars however that is not an option per se. Fantastic design & construction. However, it is entirely made of plastic-quite a good grade. Many versatile attachments for stairs, small crevices & tight spaces. Only 2 notable possible detractions.The on/off button is on the canister -not on the handle which would be more practical-IMO. The main rotating brush head is not electrically powered (totally powered by suction it creates to rotate it) & the brush is not that wide -so you have to make more passses to clean the floor. With that being said it still pulls enough dirt/debris from the capets including the dog (animal) hair that my small dog sheds.

As a dog owner, I have gone through many vacuum cleaners over the years but this has proven to be effective and resilient. In addition, the vacuum is easy to use and comes with an excellent company warranty through Dyson

So far, I love this vacuum. It is easily the most I've spent on such an item, so the bar is high. The couple of attachments I've used have been easy to navigate, and unlike my last couple of vacuums, they are securely affixed to the vacuum and they don't fall off. Stairs are incredibly easy to clean now - for which I am grateful. Carpet seems like it takes a couple of passes, but maybe that's just me. Regardless, I am happy to do it to ensure it's clean. And when I do, I am always shocked at how much dirt, hair, etc. is in the canister. The brush works on the hardwoods and tile, but there is an attachment that works better...and again, it's right there, ready to use. No joke, the adjustable wand is fantastic for convincing my daughters to use the vacuum in their rooms. Easy up, easy down. Perhaps my favorite part: the cord winds into the machine for easy storage. Proof that God loves us.

Gets the job done and great suction. No filter is nice but the price is not. All the accessories but no real place to put them. I leave them in the box.

Just purchased this yesterday. My wife loves that the vacuum wand is lighter and more maneuverable than our almost 10-year old DC21 Stowaway. Due to that unit's performance, we were pretty much set on a Dyson. We opted for this unit. I tried it myself today and found some of the innovation interesting, but seemingly less useful than our previous unit. For instance, the motor running the brush-head is now run by vacuum suction. It's cool, but does not seem to be as effective as the electric run motor - with harder bristles - on the old unit. The comparison to the old unit aside, it just does not seem to be picking up and cleaning the carpet very well... I'm still kicking this thing around, but I am not impressed thus far. As they say in investing, "past performance is not indicative of future results". If I find through trial and error that I am wrong, I'll be back to update my review.

This is the best canister vacuum I’ve ever owned. Easy assembly, quick attachment changes, and a retractable cord. The adjustable wand is easy on each person of different heights. It’s reasonably quiet and doesn’t lose power. There’s a quick release trigger for those little area rugs that always seem to get sucked up by mistake.

Having pets and kids means having a good vacuum. There are so many things about this vacuum that I love. It makes it easy to get under tables and cabinets and is easy to empty.

A couple of things about this vacuum... it has decent tools/attachments and worked well on blinds. Expected a little more suction power though. I also wished it had an on/off switch at the handle rather than on the canister only.

I have had several vacuum cleaners over the years and Dyson by far is always the best. This canister is easy to maneuver & I love the retractable cord! The most important is the powerful suction. It does great at trapping pet hair without blowing it around.

The canister is easy to clean, provides powerful suction to remove dirt, and gets under furniture easily. Best one I have ever owned.

Everything they said was true. great suction , handle swivel s to where you can vacuum anywhere. Get the hardwood attachment, perfect for hardwood floors picks up the first sweep so far so good

We wanted a vacuum that would get under the sofa and bed, this one works great, we have two cats and it picks up hair and litter very easy.

It is lightwieght and extemely maneuverable yet it is very powerful. I can use this by holding the canister in one hand and vacuuming with another. This is so helpful because I can easily and quickly navigate around all our furniture as well as our collection of baskets. It gets in places that our old upright Dyson never got to. Love it!

Suggested by my daughter, it's the best I've ever owned. Great power and I can see the difference from my former vac. Easy to empty with no bags to get. You'll be happy with the money you spent even though it is on the expensive side.

I used to have an old Dyson and haven't had one in several years. I'm happy to see that the quality is still stellar. It's got great attachments and makes vacuuming a breeze.

This vacuum can stand itself back onto the its wheels after tipping over. No matter how you flip the body, it will right itself again. The no-filter design is pretty cool and don't have to worry about cleaning it. However, i knocked a couple of stars off the the rating because the brush doesn't seem powerful enough to clean deep into the carpet. And the main purpose of vacuum cleaner should be its cleaning performance. The brush bar is not an electric motor powered brush - it's actually powered by the airflow from the suction. But it's definitely not strong enough to dig into the carpet and get embedded dirt. For the price of it, I would expect more serious cleaning power.

This Dyson works great. No need to own a broom because this animal style sucks up everything.

Two people in the house with long hair and a dog that has long hair and sheds. This vacuum rates high with this family. Only thing that is kind of irritating is that ball seems to roll around all the time on me. It rolls and keeps going, but just is a bit annoying that it doesn't stay upright ...that is just my little quirk since we have two other Dysons that don't have the ball that rolls....but it does clean!
