The Ecobee 4 has an easy setup, the app is intuitive, and installation was simple. I bought the Ecobee 4 thermostat over some of the other smart home thermostats because of the room sensor option which provides better temperature control. Lastly, I plan to submit an energy rebate through my power company with the purchase of the energy saving thermostat!

This thing is awesome! Easy installation, and easy to operate.

This is a great edition to our smart house. I love the fact that I can control the thermostat from my phone or tablet. All the features that they packed into the Ecobee 4 are fantastic. I am not a fan of the way the other thermostats look and the Ecobee just looks fantastic on the wall. It does not look out of place like I think some of the others do. Installation was super simple and took less than 10 minutes from start to finish. Once the Ecobee was mounted they could not of made setting the thermostat up any easier. It made me realize the difference in temperature in our furnished basement and the rest of the house as we put the remote sensor there so when we go downstairs to watch TV is just as warm as it is upstairs.

I've had this thermostat for a few months now and I can honestly say it's a game changer. I like it cold at night, but when I'm gone, other people in the house can have it nice and toasty thanks to the scheduling feature. If I get home early, I can just switch it to "home" instead of away, and it will hold my desired temp until it's usually supposed to. Alexa was just a plus feature for me, not ultimately desired or needed but she just isn't as responsive as they claim she is. She's supposedly able to hear you from another room, that has yet to be proven. There are certain simple questions she can't answer, as well. "Alexa, tell me the time." Silence. Nada. Goose egg. She's excellent for setting a timer when I'm baking, though. Setup was incredibly simple, I had no experience with wiring and when I got a bit confused (the previous thermostat was ancient and installed incorrectly, ecobee tech support was simple to reach and absolutely off the charts incredible. Unfortunately, when Geek Squad was contacted, they had no knowledge of how to install it and transferred me 4 times over 20 minutes. I was disappointed with that, so don't call them, call Ecobee! So, I'm knocking off the one star for Alexa (a highly touted feature for the device) being not all she's cracked up to be, and for the poor support from Best Buy. Can't say enough good things about the Ecobee team, though!

Incredibly easy to set up and use. The fact that it works with Alexa is even better. App is easy to use and control. Learns your desired temps that you want your room to be.

Previously a Nest owner, revisited my options after moving. The difference maker for me was the ability to add room sensors, Homekit integration, and built in Alexa. The thermostats work well and look good. The Alexa microphones aren't as great as on the Amazon products and the app isn't as great as Nest, but these trade-offs aside, I'd still make the switch to Ecobee.

Really enjoying this thermostat. It's much better than Nest. I love the part that add-on sensors are really helpful to maintain proper temperature in the home. Earlier my home was either heating too much or too less but this just helps to keep the right balance both upstairs and downstairs.

Great thermostat that's easy to install and use. Works with Alexa and other Smart devices. A truly set it up once and no more tinkering forever. Currently there are rebates with some utility companies that make this a super buy even at regular price. Best thermostat in the market today.

After trying out the Honeywell Lyric and Nest thermostat I can say that ecobee has got it right. Installation and setup were extremely easy for all 4 of my thermostats if you follow the directions. After the initial calibration and sensor setup the thermostat was ready to go. Alexa works seamlessly on the ecobee and it was easy to add it my Amazon account. The ecobee app is very straight forward and easy to use. If you use Apple devices you can easily add the ecobee to your homekit account through the app. The only hiccup I have had is that 1 ecobee went offline however it was easily fixed after resetting it

The difference in our bill has been noticeable. I'm sure this will pay for itself in no time. The app is easy to use. The thermostat took about 30 minutes to install and activate. Built in videos help a lot, and they also helped in figuring out where to put the additional sensor.

Also own a nest thermostat in another house. I gotta say the ecobee blows nest out the water. The UI is friendly. Super easy instructions for install and of course, Alexa just makes this thing a no brainer Buy! My only kickback is sometimes Alexa will start saying something when you’re not near or even mention it’s name. Other than that I love it!

Installation was easy. You will need at least 4 wires going to your thermostat. I originally thought I had 3, then found the 4th. The package has an adapter that goes on the furnace to allow it to use a 4 wire system for the 5 wire thermostat. Luckily, when I removed my old one, there was the 5th wire! The thermostat installed easily as did the Alexa and auxiliary temperature sensor. The interface is straight forward and the iphone app shows the extra sensor. You can program the units to detect presence in order to average the temperatures. This is a nice device

I already have an ecobee3 so the ecobee4 was a good fit to add to my two story house. The ease of use and setup are very simple to follow. Setting up Alexa is a bit more complicated but manageable. I liked that Alexa is in the room, but not taking up any counter space.

We actually bought two of these! We have one in our cottage that we love. We can adjust the furnace on our way to the cottage so it's comfortable when we arrive, we can monitor the temperature while we are away so we can be sure the HVAC is working, and the grandkids love Alexa. The thermostat is easy to use, easy to read, it even looks good on the wall. We would give it 5 stars except that when we bought our second Eccobee, it is not compatible with our furnace at home! We have a Carrier furnace that has some special features that we paid extra for and need in our house (like variable speed fan which helps our upper floor get enough heat) but if we use this thermostat we lose those features.

This thing is awesome I love it. The ease of doing everything from your phone or tell Alexa to do it (yes I’m lazy)is great. It’s so easy to use and set up. We haven’t had it long enough to see a difference with the power saving yet but well worth the money

After checking reviews I bought this during Black Friday Sales. Shipping was fast and it was here. Easy to install and easy to understand. This allows me to change settings at home or via my Samsung Smart things hub remotely using my phone. Super nice!

Do talk to your tech support for installation. It took me less than 30 minutes to install. Do remember to keep all of your instruction, supply, etc that comes with the unit for future references or even re-sale. I played around with the unit for less than 2 days and it's more useful than its look. It's not fully equipped with Alexa so do not expect much but the regular command such as "weather temperature, play music, traffic information". You can ask this Ecobee to wake you up but you cannot schedule your calendar using this unit. Bottom line, much better than Nest.

Small learning curve, in other words easy to operate and fairly easy to instal. If you have problems installing or unsure, you can contact support and they will help you as they did me. No fuss. The second thermostat I installed was no problem at all. Operation from smart phone a snap. Bought the ecobee4 with Alexa and my wife loves it. You can switch Alexa off if you like. Sometimes my wife and I will be having a conversation and Alexa will sometimes speak thinking you asked her a question. A little weird but ok. So I switched off mic. It does work. Thermostat great
