I'm am really happy with this thermostat. It was super easy to install and setup. The geofence feature is really useful for when you do something different from schedule.

OMG- perfect product The app is easy to use Syncs perfectly with Alexa

I bought both Nest and Ecobee for my 2 floors.. I think Nest will beat it for the "glamorous look" that it has, over rather "flat" appearance for Ecobee. But its interactive Alexa, so-so built in speakers, gives an edge.

Purchased this device to continue my smart house as part of my remodel. The ability to control and monitor my air systems has been pleasant. The device has been flawless. The added Alexa voice system has allowed us to expand our ability to control other devices in the house which has been nice. Maybe a little over priced which is why I waited for a sale and some Best Buy rebates.

Love that you can control it by just asking Alexa. Can listen to music as well as ask her what the temp is. Can also turn on and off from phone when you are not home

I have had good luck with it so far for the month, I emailed support and they fixed the issues with Alexa voice, i forget the protocol but there was an issue where if you talked to another echo device they would both answer, seems to be fixed in the firmware update. The web interface is very nice telling you your energy usage and run time, and to control remotely is very good as well. Sensors also work as a security device which will send notifications to you if someone is in area of home if you set it up that way, nice plus for those who travel.a 2nd sensor would be a nice add on out of box.

Our house is a HomeKit (Apple) house, so we don't have any other Alexa devices. As such I don't use the Alexa feature all that much, as it's just as easy or easier to talk to Siri through a phone, watch or HomePod. The times I've used Alexa, it's worked well if I'm standing in front of the thermostat, but if I'm in the adjacent room, she has a very hard time understanding what I'm (or anyone) is saying. They definitely need to improve the microphone if they want to advertise being able to use Alexa reliably in the next room. Aside from that, the Ecobee app isn't very intuitive, and I've run into a couple instances with Siri and HomeKit where I've asked for the temperature to be changed and Siri says "Got it" but then I find later it never got changed. For the most part though, it works fairly well and I'm overall happy with the product. I installed it myself (not very handy) and it was fairly straightforward due to our home being newer. My inlaws liked the Ecobee so much when they were at our house that I ended up buying and installing one in their house as well. Their house was older so there wasn't a common wire connected already so I did have some trouble. I ended up emailing pictures of the wires at the thermostat and AC unit to Ecobee's customer support, and they were able to see there was an extra wire (as noted in their instructions as a possibility). I was able to run this extra wire in place of the absent C-wire, and everything setup easily after that point. Despite the few shortcomings, I would definitely buy again. It's made it much easier to control the temperature on the fly, although I really wish you could set the schedule by voice. Trying to say "Turn off the air conditioning at 11pm" gives a "sorry I can't do that" response from Siri. Since the app isn't very straightforward, I haven't bothered setting up the scheduling feature yet.

Just got a house so decided to swap out my old Nest for the Ecobee. Installation was a little more complicated than with the Nest, but the instructions Ecobee came with were very good and I had it all installed in about an hour. I really like that I could program it from the app, the device or on my computer. Setting everything up was pretty easy with the exception of the schedule. As I was setting up the schedule I had some trouble and had to keep redoing it. The one thing stopping me from giving this 5 stars is the Alexa portion of the device, the voice commands are cumbersome to control the thermostat. I also find the microphone on the unit isn't the best and I generally need to raise my voice for the device to pick up my commands.

The thermometer is really good and the app and online is great. We also use Alexa all the time and control our music, tv and thermostat using voice commands.

Long gone are the days of getting out of bed and walking on a cold floor to adjust your thermostat. With this ecobee all you need now is a smartphone or tablet to lazily adjust your thermostat from your bed or couch. Also works well with built in Amazon Alexa, and syncs perfectly with Apple’s homekit.

This was easy to install and easy to connect to Alexa. Love the vacation mode where you can schedule when you will be gone so the system will shut off.

It is easy to set up, doesn’t require an expert! It also does well with the apple app. Love this system! Still not sure how well the room sensor works.

Considering Alexa is built into the thermostat, my biggest complaint is that it will not allow you simply say “Alexa, set the temperature to 70 degrees.” Instead, you must say “Alexa, ask Ecobee to set the temperature to 70 degrees.” The Ecobee screen interface is intuitive. Using the slider to adjust the temp is a bit hit or miss though - it usually takes 2-3 times get the temp to lock in where you want it. The iOS phone & iPad apps are very good. Placing the sensor in one of my kids’ rooms signals the thermostat to turn on the furnace when they get home from school. Having Alexa in a central location has brought more convenience to our home than we imagined and has been fun to use.

Easy to install and works with my smarthome app. Simple but functional

The installation was easier than I expected. Instructions will guide you step by step even if you have a basic understanding of DIY things. The unit itself works great, sensors in different parts of the house help regulate the temperature where it’s very comfortable everywhere and helps you save money when your not at home. Very good buy.

This is my second smart thermostat. And I had planned to purchase another Nest, but the ecobee4 seemed like a better option with the multi-zone system at my new home. The room sensors were another selling point and I like the ability to add more. But the jury is still out on the built-in Alexa Voice Service. Sometimes she starts talking on her own and it can be startling, especially for guests, if they don't realize what's happening. I also give high marks to ecobee's tech support. My installation was a bit tricky, but they spent more than an hour helping me resolve an issue so I didn't have to hire an HVAC technician. Bonus points for a well-designed installation/setup guide.

I recently bought the Ecobee as my partner has it and I liked how easy it was to use, and the home-kit integration, so I can use Siri, or Alexa (I have a Sonos Beam with Alexa.. so it's a new system I'm playing with). The thermostat was easy to install, I recommend using the compatibility tool on EcoBee's website before purchasing, my place had no issues, but some people with more advanced/ out-dated systems may have issues. It was a lot easier to set up than nest, with a direct touch screen interface, versus the ring select of Nest. (And lack of Home-kit compatibility) and once it's set up, it does it's own thing. It comes with one remote sensor with a motion detector to detect occupancy. This is nice because the unit is in the hallway, and I work in my bedroom, my roomies work in the basement, so it at least detects that I am home and keeps the system from going to away mode. Setting the schedules were a bit tricky, but overall, it has a day time and night time setting so it changes the temps based off that, which helps with cost. Over-all I certainly and happy with the EcoBee, and how it's been operating, and hope to have it for a very long time, and hope that they don't drop Home-Kit integration.

Super easy install looks nice easy to change temperature.

This item is simply better than nest due to the amazing East installation which I needed help and revived within 2 mins onto he phone. Also the Alexa is just too good to pass up. Don't buy anything else Alexa just a smart thermostat saving you money and Alexa oh I also forgot to mention the second sensor that's included is nice to get accurate Temps.

I love the ecobee since you can add auxiliary items in like a humidifier that some others do not play with. The X ternal room sensor is great for knowing temperature in different levels of the house. It was easy to install and set up. The speaker on the unit is good for listening to music In the hall where the thermostat is
