The ELAC Protek, PR-71S, 8 Outlet Component Surge Protector and Power Conditioner with Dual USB is an all black sleek, light weight, and compact machine measuring about 17: wide, 7.5" deep, and 1.5" tall. So this component can be easily stored or placed in almost any office and/or home office applications. This ELAC 8 outlet is not a smart product and unlike either the ELAC 12 smart outlet that requires Wi-Fi and an android or iPhone or the ELAC 9 smart outlet component with Bluetooth that requires either an android or iPhone, this does not require Wi-Fi or a smart phone. This surge protector is to be used in only dry areas and is to be plugged into the wall outlet directly and not be "daisey-chained" to another power strip. I have 2 issues that casue me grief related to the electric use. Firstly, I rent office space in a very old building and have a landlord that did not renovate the space with enough wall outlets and plug-ins. Second, I am a CPA with lots of electronics that need to be used to do my job- costly desktops, laptops, multiple monitors, high-end scanners, etc. So, what is a person to do, but group up on multiple outlet devices. In addition to those two things, I am in a small city that does loose power more frequently than I would like-is is scary to loose power with tax season and other information and worry that my devices have not been destroyed by either the lose of power or surges in power-did I mention that our city is in the production of our power versus the big professional guys. In my opinion, the pluses include the 8 outlets, the 2 USB ports at 2.4A, and most importantly the 8 foot cord that has a 360 degree rotating plug. That rotating plug is almost the cost of the device in addition to the safety features that are built in such as higher temperature resistance, fire retardant ceramic caseing, LED voltage output display, and the status indicators. There are 4 status indicators: 1. Protected/Clean Power-LED on-outletrs are protected and surge protector is working and devices are protected, 2. Ground ok-LED on means properly grounded which mine is not and I will have to contact that cheap landlord to fix this, 3. Reversed Polarity-LED off means polarity is ok, and 4. Unsafe Voltage LED off means normal voltage. In my case I was thrilled to discover that except for the ground issue, the other 3 safety items were intact in my old and not well designed office space. I would never have been able to determine this things and it gives me comfort that my space is space. In addition, this surge protector has an overload breaker so I can rely on the machine making the determination in the safety area. There is a picture on the outside of the box that shows how this component filters and cleans the power going through it, making it much safer and easier on your devices to work more efficiently and effectively. Overall, even though this is not a smart iteration of the device, I am very satisfied with the features that this has to offer me. I am knocking it down 1 star because of the cost versus the fact that it is not a smart/Bluetooth device.

I noticed an improvement in the sound quality of my audio system with this. I also like the protection. It was surprising to see the variation in power supplied by the electric company. This is well worth it.

Good people what are you waiting on, not only this product protects all of my gadgets that is connected to it. I have noticed that everything runs better being connected to this product. My TV sounds super clean it also cleans your sound. The most important thing is it gives the right amount of voltage to protect the technology that is connected to it, so in case of a storm well let’s say anything that is connected will be safe.

The surge protector worked perfectly! I had an electrical blowout from a damaged power line a few months back and everything in my house stopped, even my stereo which was very expensive, as soon as I connected this surge protector everything was back to normal perfectly!

Store didn't have in stock, but once we received at home, easy to use and happy with it so far. Sales person at Folsom store was super helpful and actually sold me a better product than what I came in for.

We used this to protect our receiver, projector, Apple TV, logic hub incase of a surge. We had a theater room and it had a lot of devices we needed to plug in, this accommodated all of them.
