I purchased my dryer open box, saved some cash after buying a different open box that gave up 2 weeks in. I installed the water line, vent line and gas line and everything turned on properly. I put a load to wash and then threw it in the dryer. 2 minutes in it is giving me a EF3 code. I cjecked the vent, i checked the lint trap, and i also whiped the moisture sensor with alcohol as instructed on line. Nothing worked. Its 10pm and i have wet clothes. Alright i came back to update i checked drying every cycle and at different temperatures to try to bypass the code. Nothing worked still stops 2 minutes in. I also unplugged it and redid all the steps still pops up code 2 minutes into dry. The clothes doesnt get hot, hold up…. Alright im back, my gas valve wasn’t opened. It works now and cleared the EF3 code. That needs to be added to the trouble shooting instructions. Check gas line has no obstructions and is on. Everything was pointing me to moisture sensor. Well hope this helps

Don't buy Electrolux

I purchased a gas dryer in November 2024, and it has been a nightmare ever since. From the start, it sounded like a spoon rattling inside a tin can. After ruling out any external sources for the noise, I reached out to Electrolux support. They scheduled a technician to come out, but his first repair attempt lasted over three hours and left the dryer in worse condition than before. The technician deemed it unrepairable and promised to report it as such.
Communication from both the technician and Electrolux was severely lacking. I received no clear answers, only that they would not replace the dryer and the technician would return with parts. Weeks later, he did return and managed to get the dryer running "good enough" and "better than before," though he admitted he hoped it would continue to run. The rattling noise was replaced by a high-pitched whine.
Despite the dryer being only two months old, Electrolux refuses to replace it. They offered me the option to purchase an extended warranty but wouldn't extend the warranty on their own in good faith. This experience has shown me that Electrolux does not truly stand behind their products. They received full price for what is now essentially a refurbished dryer. Don't make the same mistake I did—look elsewhere for a reliable dryer.
