Hands down this is one of Christian Bale’s best action flicks next To the Batman trilogy, Has a great matrix feel and your going to enjoy the Combat scenes. I’m a big fan of the Miramax releases around this time

This movie was given bad reviews but I cannot for the life of me figure out why it is so awesome that I watched it almost as much as my Beloved Star Wars films 4,5,6,.

This wasn't the most hyped and discussed movie of Christian Bale's career, but it is a personal favorite of mine. The story is a stretch and full of holes and inconsistencies, but the action and special effects are so fun to watch that I put aside the absurdity. It is a somewhat unique twist on a futuristic sci fi action movie and has a good pace to it so there is very little down time, the story keeps pushing on which makes this a good movie to watch again and again. A great popcorn movie that is non stop action and suspense.

Ray Bradbury prefigured much about the technology that we now live & interact with in his novel, Fahrenheit 451, but fortunately wasn't quite correct about the fascist clampdown to control our thoughts & behavior. But I think it's still something we fear deeply; book-burning & rampant censorship to keep everyone "safe". Kurt Wimmer's EQUILIBRIUM presents a higher-tech dystopia policed by a monastic order of experts in, yes, gun-fu. The performances are solid enough and the feel is of a classic 80s action/sci-fi flick.

Set in an alternate future where the society is drugged and all stimuli is suppressed, Christian Bale plays a cleric - a gun-toting security expert whose job is to keep the population in check. Using gun-kata, a martial arts discipline using pistols, Bale is torn between keeping the peace and being inspired by the underground to make change. Also stars Game of Thrones star Sean Bean as a partner cleric. Fun movie!

A great and satisfying look into a world that could be, without color and life. What is life without art or those other distractions that give it meaning? Just a blank canvas that would make Old Walt go mad! Yet, with movement and style of such beauty. But at the end of the day, the only color that matters is Red.

A very thought provoking Sci Fi flick where society has given up all passions to preserve peace. Art, music, anything that inspires feelings is eliminated to prevent emotion. The action is top notch and features the origins of gun kata and center lock axis fighting similar to John Wick.

With today's society, this movie really fits. Shows what could be with a sci fi twist. I think if you look at what's going on and wonder how we got this far then this movie is for you. Also not preachy at all. I think no matter where you are politically aligned then you can enjoy this movie. Great plot and action.

Equilibrium is great film. The addition of gun fu make it stand out amongst all the other distopieonistic films. The concept is done quite well. To think that all emotions would be outlawed is a crazy premise but, quite entertaining. Would recommend to any fan of the Matrix or action films junkie.

Equilibrium is one of my favorite movies, it was advertised as a Matrix type movie but it is much different. Similar to THX-1138 in the way the government suppresses people's emotions with drugs. The enforcement of emotions and art is controlled by an elite group called the Grammaton Clerics. They posses advanced martial arts skills called gun kata. Interesting story and great performances. The gun kata action is awesome. See it if you haven't yet!

Despite its flaws, this is a very exciting film. Previous U.S. releases were the wrong aspect ratio or shared space with another movie on the same disc. This version is the proper ratio and looks the best the movie has ever looked. Comes with a digital copy, too. Win win!

This one didn't get a lot of press when it first came out. Found out about it from a friend. Well made movie about a futuristic society where everyone's emotions are suppressed by daily drug self-injections. An law enforcement police force called Clerics maintains order by removing anyone caught "feeling". Christian Bale plays one the Clerics who begins to question the society that he lives in.

Decent story but premise a bit illogical. To stop the killing of war, kill everyone that feels. Very believable acting with deep issues if one looks carefully. Really too much shooting, gets a little old, but fight scenes very impressive.

If you've seen The Matrix, you might really like this movie as well. However, whereas The Matrix is a thinking man's type movie at times, Equilibrium is a flat-out action movie. It's Christian Bale's answer to The Matrix. If you're looking for a good counterpoint to The Matrix, you may not need to look any further. You may just have one here.

Christian Bale plays a cop where he has to make sure to punish those that show feelings and show artistic feeling. When he stops taking the mandated pills to suppress feelings he finds out that everything he once believed may not been right all along. Great action involved as well as he goes from serving to taking on the government.

I came upon this film in the bin as an additional gift for my oldest son and Ben highly recommended it when he saw it in my hand. After reading the back, I was sure my son would enjoy it.
