I’ve been using the Eufy SoloCam S40 for about a month now, and overall, I’m really happy with it. Setup was super easy—just mounted it, connected it through the app, and it was ready to go. No hub needed, which was a plus. The 2K video quality is sharp and clear, even at night. The built-in spotlight actually makes a big difference—it lights up the area when motion is detected, and that full-color night vision is way more helpful than grainy black-and-white footage. What really sold me was the solar charging. I get a few hours of sun a day, and that’s been enough to keep it running without plugging it in once. Eufy says two hours a day is enough, and so far, that’s been accurate. It’s been hands-off in the best way. The motion detection is solid. It’s smart enough to tell people apart from other motion (like tree branches or animals), and you can set activity zones to avoid false alerts. The alerts come through fast, and the two-way audio works great when I need to speak to someone at the door. Also worth noting: no subscription required. It comes with built-in storage, which was a big reason I went with Eufy over some other brands.

Great product. Obviously best for sunny areas. Tend to get hyper and send you alerts for nothing when you check your 'events' in the app. App needs redesign, a tat too complicated and too saturated with advertisement for their other products

so far, excellent. Solar recharge feature works great, with south facing mount, it always keeps battery at 100%... You gave to mount it right per instructions. Does not pick up things coming straight at it, has to "see" things as they come across field of view...

Great camera it's clear . It really is solar power . Now I tried this inside my hallway where the lights are on most of the day and it does keep the battery full. The speaker is loud to where I had to lower the volume. The flood light is bright . It brings the mount and the USB cable to charge it. The only thing I wish it had was a sdcard slot to upgrade the memory. It a big camera but that's because of the solar panel on top. The recordings stay inside the built in storage . You don't need a monthly subscription. Anker did a good job with this one

I must confess that up to a few weeks ago I wasn't aware that Eufy (made by Anker) smart home products were actual contenders in the smart home industry. I acquired a smart lock made by them and paired it with this outdoor camera so that I could keep an eye on my property. I am glad that I found out about this company! The camera came packaged in all recyclable materials, thanks for not using Styrofoam, Eufy! From the time I opened the package, I could tell that the product is made of high quality materials and should last a long time. Since I already had created an account and downloaded the Eufy Security app, adding the camera to my network was a breeze. The camera comes with a heavy duty mounting bracket and all the hardware necessary to install it. It took less than 15 minutes to have the camera added to the network and the app, then I had to find a suitable location. Since the camera top is mostly a solar panel that keeps the batteries charged, it is best to find a location that has plenty of light/sunshine available, don't put it under an eve or where there might be obstructions that could reduce the efficacy of the solar panel. Once I found the right location that maximized the angle of view, I set to configuring my alerts. With the app you can use the live view option with or without the auxiliary light on and you can even speak to a person in the camera view, albeit there is a bit of lag from when you press the microphone button and start speaking to when the person on the other end hears your voice. You can also check the battery level and view recorded events in the camera's internal memory. I love being able to use one app to view/control all my smart home devices, and even though the app GUI is not the most user friendly, it works OK. If you're on the fence and don't recognize the brand, don't be afraid to give them a try. I did and would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a good outdoor solar powered security camera.

I am very satisfied with these Eufy SoloCam S40 cameras. Installation was quick and easy thanks to the completely wireless setup and the integrated solar panel, which means no need to worry about charging or running cables. The 2K video and image quality is outstanding, even at night the picture is clear and detailed. The audio works perfectly: I can clearly hear everything that happens and also communicate through the app without any issues — my voice comes through clearly. I installed this pair in my backyard and they have given me great peace of mind. I liked them so much that I decided to purchase additional cameras for my apartment entrance, because they truly deliver on what they promise. I also appreciate the built-in 8GB storage, which makes it unnecessary to pay for subscriptions to record, although they also offer cloud options if preferred. Plus, the solar charging feature is a huge advantage, keeping the battery always powered. In short, this purchase exceeded my expectations: easy to install, secure, excellent video quality, clear audio, and perfect for outdoor use. I 100% recommend these cameras to anyone looking for reliable and hassle-free security.

This camera does the trick man. It notifies you pretty quick and the quality image is great. Im going to buy 2 more for the house for sure. Worth the money. My one ding to it is that over time, the elbow piece that holds it still gets loose over time and won't hold it without a bracket for support which i had to do. But the self charging using solar and ease of use definitely makes me want to purchase more for the house, and I will.

Easy to set up. Did a good job monitoring our front porch. I like that it is solar and charges each day. Also has a spotlight alarm. I like the feature that lets you choose target location for monitoring is cool too.

This is an initial impressions review as it has been operational for 3 days now. I've been shopping for 2 years to find exactly the right security solution and eufy Solocam S40 is it! It was nice to be able to buy just one so I could try it out and add more later if I liked it. - solar powered, no wires or battery that needs manual recharging - uses WIFI, no hub, or cables - local storage, no monthly fee On taking it out of the package I liked the build quality of the camera. It is a little on the large and heavy side. It is supported by a plastic mounting bracket that seems like the weak link for such a large unit. Initial impression of the directions was that they were vague and imprecise. However, in practice they were sufficient as set up was VERY quick, easy and straight forward. I had it mounted and operational in about 45 minutes. Camera clarity is great in the day and the night. Sound quality is excellent. Can hear birds chirping. App seems responsive. Solar keeps the battery charged easily. So far I am 100% impressed and will buy more.

I switched from arlo to eufy and i can tell that was the best decision i did!we have around 11 devices from eufy and we love it !!!

Great camera the audio quality thru the camera is a bit spotty and delayed so you may need to repeat yourself but none the less Great for day and night use thanks to the night vision as well as the light on it. Great feature to have is the solar panel even in a state that doesn't get much sun might stays charged all the time. As well as the app on the phone works fantastically

It’s excellent no need for extra outlets. The solar charging works great and the quality of the video is great. It’s a must get security camera with easy to use app.

Works great; but one small problem. I’ve had it for 3 weeks and it’s working great, but there’s a small problem. If you really need the 2 way talking, I’d go with a different product, you barely hear anything (from the camera) if you’re trying to speak (from the app). Speaker, alarm, mic, camera, lights, and solar panel work great!

I did my research and landed on these Eufy solar powered cameras. Im glad i did. Excellent quality and no monthly fee for storage. I have 4 cameras now for over a year now and haven't had any issues. Even my friend's and family have purchased these and love them.

Clear video and audio. Solar keeps it charged. Timely remote notification with download of locally stored event.

good cameras dont have to be wired and recharge as solar the only thing i didnt like was they dont pick up motion to record up to only 25 feet!i may have to buy 2 more to cover my 2000 foot house all around property i have 6 cameras now geek squad hooked them up they know what they are doing! very kind and good service!

Set up s easy and mounting wasn’t complicated. Connection to wifi is easy as well and works as advertised as well. Ended up buying another since it worked so great and the solar charging works great! Will probably end up buying more eufy products in the future.

Amazing camera quality and solar charging life is amazing. Plus there is no subscription required to access or view recordings.
