    Ah, the Eufy Security SoloCam Outdoor Wireless 2K Solar Spotlight Camera, also know as the Eufy S40, a device that seems to have a rather ironic relationship with the great outdoors. It's an outdoor camera that's about as waterproof as a sugar cube. My first encounter with this camera ended with it developing an unexpected fear of water. It started malfunctioning due to water leakage. Yes, you heard it right, an outdoor camera that can't handle a bit of rain. It's like a fish that can't swim, a bird that's afraid of heights, a... well, you get the drift. So, I did the sensible thing and contacted the manufacturer. They agreed to replace the faulty unit. "Fantastic!" I thought, "A second chance!" But oh, how I was mistaken. The replacement unit arrived and, for a while, it seemed like everything was going to be okay. But less than a year later, it too started leaking. It seems this camera has a shorter lifespan than a mayfly when faced with a bit of moisture. I reached out to the manufacturer again, hoping they'd be reasonable. But no, they told me I was out of luck. Apparently, their warranty is as leaky as their cameras. So here I am, stuck with an expensive brick that's supposed to be a state-of-the-art outdoor security camera. If you're considering buying this product, I'd suggest you also invest in a tiny raincoat for it. Or better yet, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

    After exactly one year of having the Eufy S40 solar camera, it stopped working. I live in Southern California, where we often get triple-digit heat during the summer, and after the recent intense weather, the camera failed. I worked with Eufy’s engineers, and their findings confirmed the issue was with the camera itself. They are not replacing it instead, they only offered me a discount on some of their other cameras, which I declined. Make sure to get an extended warranty when purchasing, since it only comes with a standard 1 year warranty or better yet, save yourself the trouble and buy a different brand.

    Camera keeps dropping off the network and not charging even though is located where enough sun hits the solar panel.

      Would you please try the following to see if it helps:
      -Please make sure that the network your device is connected to is in good condition. Weak network signal will cause the camera to discharge quickly.
      -Keep the Optimal Battery Life Mode in Camera Settings > Camera Working Mode. In this mode, the power consumption of the battery will be reduced, but it may also cause some motions will not be able to be detected.
      -Select "Human Only" instead of "All Motions". Or decrease the sensitivity. Steps: Devices>motion detection>sensitivity level(type)
      -Set up Activity Zone to filter the false positives.
      -If you running your App on multi-devices? If yes, could you please close the App when not in use or log out of your account on one device to see how does it work?

    Does not last

    Customer service with Eufy is not good. They will give you the run around. Tell you things to do, but don't follow through. On hold for 25 minutes before speaking with a rep. I emailed the company, and they were better with immediate assistance, but not much help. After two years, the device will start to fall apart. The front fell off, and the picture quality is not as good. The solar panel on top will peel away. Not a fan anymore.

    I have this product in addition to a homebase with a doorbell and a spotlight camera. Everything has worked great for several years, and I don’t have anything negative to say about the hardware. However, they have recently been updating the app, and with every update, the ads embedded in the app have become more intrusive. Today I was trying to check my cameras in a severe weather event, and I could not get past the ad that immediately opens when you launch the app. This is not a subscription; I paid upfront for this product. I should be able to view my cameras without sitting through an ad. Hopefully this is something Eufy will fix. If you are considering purchasing any of the Eufy cameras or security products, I highly recommend that you check the newest reviews of the app on the Apple or Android App Store.

    Lens Turns foggy from sun damage after warranty ru

    Please do not waste your money. Put one of these in my driveway pointing directly at my car and it was ransacked about a week later. I got zero notifications and the camera did not detect anyone. But if a bug flies past it will get that every time.. All I had in my home was Eufy. Never again. The product has gone way down hill. There are other brands a lot cheaper that do a way better job. Please don’t waste your money.

    Turning into garbage

    Floodlight went out within 3 months immediately after the first snow fall in Colorado. Order number from Eufy is needed for filing out the support form so strongly advise purchasing the Geek Squad support due to the support issues even with a Eufy order number and the only on line issues described about this is the suspicions about these solo cams actually being waterproof.

    We purchased two Eufy solar cameras. Front yard camera missed 4 deliveries. Best Buy tech came out to troubleshoot. Lag time did not pick him up from where he was parked on street until he was close to entering porch area. Back yard camera had same lag issues and did not pick him up at all after he entered back yard through side gate. Also spoke with Eufy which had us troubleshoot utilizing various settings. Eventually returned both cameras.

    Never Buy Eufy, stopped working after 1yr

    Bought these Cameras, They stopped working exactly after one year. There is no way to fix them. Contacted Eufy also they did not provide any support and any solution to fix the charging issue on cameras. They are saying warranty is only for one year, They don't do anything. Provided receipts, device info any all details, Still they are don't want to do anything as warranty period is just passed. Never buy Eufy again.

    Very disappointed

    Installed it 10 feet above ground level. The program shows how you can set up an area to have under surveillance. It looks nice, but appears to do nothing. Set it for maximum, yet when I entered the area, it picked me up just over 20 feet from the camera. Barely got a glimpse before I went out of view and into the garage. I can only imagine what would happen if I was moving quickly. When on all motion, it picks up something every few minutes, yet nothing shows.

    I bought two of these.. the S230. This is probably the same one. Network connections are spotty, even with the cameras adjacent to the router and the router working fine with other devices. Neither will hold a charge even on sunny days.. the devices get plenty of sunlight. Maybe I can wire them to an outlet. It would be nice if they worked. Also, the Eufy Android app is cluttered with marketing.. it's hard to even get the battery status because it is buried in useless adware.

    Wouldn't pair with homebase2

    When I went to install it and hook it up.I could not hook it up to my EUFY system.It kept kicking out It was very difficult to set up to my home base it wouldn't connect and my homebase is homebase2 which is compatible with these cameras???go figure

    WiFi connection issue

    Unable to connect to my 2.4gb WiFi. Supposedly because WiFi network has a space in its network name. ??? My Blink, Roomba, Honeywell, Jandy, RainSoft and other devices have no problem. Other Eufy camera set I bought has same problem. Don’t expect Eufy customer service to solve the problem. You are on your own.

      If possible, please try the following steps to see if the issue persists:
      -Make sure the device is connected to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi
      -Make sure wi-fi password doesn't have ANY SPACES
      -Please try to turn off the firewall setting on your router
      -Make sure port 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in router have not been disabled
      -Try performing setup on a different mobile device
      -Perform a hard reset on your device by holding down the “SYNC” button for 8 seconds, waiting 30 seconds and
      repeating the setup process. Save important videos before resetting device.
      -Try to connect the camera via mobile data on the phone, you may need two phones. Enable the hotspot on A phone and connect B phone to the hotspot, then try to connect the camera to the hotspot
