Incredible price for the performance, this card crushes FPS at 1440p. Most games run at 165 FPS (capped by my monitor) at max settings. Lowest I've seen it was 110 FPS in Hell Let Loose which is a terribly optimized game. Haven't tried overclocking as it really doesn't need it, even for heavy gaming. After purchasing, I saw some reviews that it can run a tad warm which concerned me. While this is somewhat true out of the box (typically sits around 74 degrees for very demanding games), slightly adjusting the fan curve in MSI afterburner to 80% at 68 degrees has this card running at or below this point while still being quiet. Highly recommend this small and easy tweak to prolong the life of your hardware. Also make sure you use two separate PCIe cables to get full power to the card. If you're lucky enough to get this card in your cart during a drop, do not hesitate for one second, buy it.

Never had an issue on performance and easily was getting 240 fps on games such as Overwatch. Very quiet and looks great in my build.

    EVGA RTX 3080 XC3--Fan issue

Great GPU for my system, runs great. Since I bought it May 24, 2022 everything has worked until this past week. The middle fan works sometimes now and when it does work it makes a loud rattling noise. Only reason for the 4 star is due to the fan issue. I previously had an EVGA 1080 FTW3 card for years and had no issues with that one.

Runs very quiet and performs great in almost any game. Ray tracing doesn't run very well without Dlss but works well enough with it to enjoy many games that offer it. physically the card looks okay in my opinion and the RGB for the EVGA logo looks nice. The card does use a lot of power and if left on for extended periods of time will produce a lot of heat especially with heavy use. 4/5

This card gets the type of performance I would expect from a 3080. The only reason I won’t give it 5 stars it that it runs a bit hot for a 3 fan card at around 83 Celsius. If you plan on overclocking this card I would recommend you water cool it or reapply thermal paste and pads. Other than that great card!

Easiest card to get if you’re well prepared. I was ready to checkout when the card went on sale online at around 12 pm on Wednesday. I am a gamer and not a miner/scalper. This card is an amazing value for the money. If you want one you just have to be committed & persistent and forget about the scalpers. Best Buy’s queue system works great, just get here first. And for the card review, it runs quiet and relatively cool I ran cyberpunk just to see how that game looks with ray tracing and it looks great. And lastly, the card itself is pretty big so double check the card dimensions so after that long hunt that beast will fit inside your case. Only negative is that this card does not have ICX cooling nor lighting on the geforce RTX 3080 portion of the card (only the EVGA logo) and for the price I would expect that it would at least have a static light.

If you can somehow manage to buy this card, you should not hesitate to do so. The 3070 cards themselves are greats gaming GPUs for people who are playing in 1080p resolution with the goal of high framerate. I could manage to get an average of 100~ FPS for most new AAA games such as Halo Infinite. eSports titles such as League of Legends, Valorant or CS:GO run at 144+ FPS with ease all the way up to 4k resolution.

It’s a great card with pretty good looks, I have had zero problems with it, for such a thin card it has great thermals (your results may vary depending on cases). Overclocking headroom is meh at best, but I do not need it to begin with. Great value, good for 1440p.

Just be wary this is the XC3 cooling for the 3080 with GDDR6X memory, some thermal throttling is to be expected. Use the EVGA queue to step up to FTW3 version.

Upgraded from a 3070 and found it to really bump up my fps at 3440 by 1440p. In The division 2 ultra setting, I got 71 fps on the benchmark with OC'ing the 3070 as high as I could. This 3080 got 98fps right out of the box (haven't messed with OC'ing yet). Really happy with my purchase... only took me 10 months to get it! From pictures, I wasn't expecting this card to really look great in person, but I think it looks much better in-person and the mild ARGB looks great without being too much. My card says its around 72c when being hit hard but the hot spot gets up to 83c and then I see some mild dips in speeds. Might look into undervolting to get that hot spot temps down a little.... Still fast as heck though! This is my first EVGA GPU, I usually like MSI's as I have never had an issue with those gpus. But since this was the cheapest AIB 3080 out there, and since iv heard only good things about EVGA's RMA process and customer service, I am happy to try them out. Best Buy has actually been doing really good with their online ordering, they check your account before selling you the gpu to help real people get cards and not bots. seems to work well, if you happen to be at a computer when they have a drop.

Cheapest non-FE model of 3080, little bit of RGB, no more red lip. EVGA also has the best-ish customer service and warranties. Performs beautifully, pushing 144Hz at 1440p on high settings. Pretty sure you'll get consistent 60hz on high (not ultra) on 4K. Not quite at 144hz at 4K but we'll shell out for the rtx 5000 series for that. Buy it instantly if in stock.

Performs just like a 3080 would but this is the lowest price you can get from an AIB partner. Thermals are ok, as this is just a 2 slot card, not the giant 3 slot thicc FTW3. Some would prefer this for its size, but the smaller heatsink does mean you have to spin the fans up a bit.

I've had this card for about a month now, and I'm thrilled with it. Great performance and of course comes with EVGA's stellar, enthusiast-friendly warranty and customer support. I've had no issues at all with the card itself, but I did notice the boost throttling, fans got a little loud, and temps get up to 77c under load, which is normal behavior out of the box for these cards. I went ahead and undervolted it to 875mV at 1875 MHz, and holy cow! Under load, temps dropped 10c, power consumption dropped 80ish W, fans are barely audible, and while Max frames per second in CP2077, BL3 dropped about 3 or 4, average fps came up because throttling essentially stopped. I highly recommend this card, and undervolting it if you're comfortable with tweaking it.

This is difficult to review and recommend because whether it is a good or bad choice depends on the individual. If you have read reviews about thermals and are wondering "83C is no big deal. Why are people complaining?", the answer is "thermal throttling". And if you wonder how that will affect you and how lowering the voltage and clock speed can increase performance, I'll try to answer that for you. You may start a game or a benchmark with the GPU clock running at its advertised speed of about 1965Mhz, but you will see it drop almost immediately as temperatures rise, and it happens much sooner than you'd think. Approaching 70C, it's already begun. By the time it reaches the max temp in the low-to-mid 80's, your clock speed will be down into the 1700's. This is where undervolting helps. By lowering the voltage, you'll effectively lock the GPU clock while simultaneously achieving lower temps. For reference, I've set up 2 different profiles in MSI Afterburner: 1860Mhz at .850mV, and 1920Mhz at .875mV. Yes, these are both lower than the advertised clock speed of this GPU. However, those speeds are not going down as my temperatures rise. So, during heavy load (gaming, benchmarking etc..), my average performance with these profiles is considerably better than if I'd left the GPU at stock settings, where the high temperatures would cause the GPU clock to plummet. Not only that, but the power draw is potentially lower and the temperatures are lower as well. Speaking of temperature control, the default fan curve for this card is terribly ineffective. How you should adjust yours really depends on your tolerance for noise. I've adjusted my fan curve to be fairly aggressive, as my case is not close to me and I game with a headset on and won't hear it. If you've never undervolted and are intimidated by it, don't be. You can't hurt anything. Just watch some videos and do some reading to get a sense of how to do it and where to start with your GPU. You'll quickly get the hang of it and may even enjoy it when you begin seeing positive results. I used others' results as a place to start, and if I found that it was unstable for me (stress tests and benchmarks crashed or froze), I understood that I needed to bump the voltage up a bit and try again. For testing, I start with Superposition, which is free, then I run a benchmark in Heaven, which is free, then I finish up with benchmarks in Hitman 3. I've had instances where I thought my profiles were stable until I ran the Hitman 3 benchmark and couldn't get through it. So it's important that you test thorougly before assuming everything is good to go. With my profiles and my custom fan curve, the 1080p/high benchmarks in Superposition show a max temp in the low-to-mid 60's. At 4k it was 69-70 and at 8k I maxed at 74C. At stock settings, I'd be in the 80's during the 1080p benchmark and would have a much lower score due to the thermal throttling. Of course, your mileage may vary depending on your particular GPU and the airflow of your case. Ultmatately, if you have options, I simply wouldn't recommend this GPU. If you can find one that has better cooling at a similar price point, then get that instead. If you're desperate to have something now and this is all you can find, and if you want to undervolt, repaste or water cool it, then this may be a good value for you. At the end of the day, a 3080 is a 3080 and this is going to perform well for you.

Got super lucky to get an RTX card, and a 3080 at that! Super happy. Pros - Love the sleeker design compared to the competitor models, it's more subtle with no crazy rgb, so it fits my build perfectly - Raw power! Haven't found a game that stumps this guy yet, able to run everything at Ultra no problems. My CPU is the true bottleneck now - Fans are surprisingly quiet - Only 2 6+2 Pins and not 3. I know some people might not like that, but to not have to use a splitter or an additional PCIe port on my PSU is a nice plus Cons - How hard it was to get one - Does run a bit hot. I've read of people replacing the thermal pads on them, but I'm not trying to ruin my product here. I'll just make sure the airflow is good and hope for the best. Plus I hear EVGA has incredible customer service, so I won't be too worried if it craps out for any reason. Happy to be a part of the EVGA fam. Thanks Best Buy!
